I have heard about this Chia before, are there single high HDD or SDD because the highest I have seen is 10TB online, with chia you will definitely need more to make more, or I am wrong ?

After you plotted the hdds, the usage is minimum, from time to time the miner will check the plot and it's ok
What´s more consuming is the phase of plotting, but you need to plot only once

To mining chia it's fine. But if you're going to use only SSDs like you said, to another usage, the bandwidth will exceeds for sure

Thanks for that. I missed your post about USB SATA adapters, that's also a good choice in any case.

US $97.68  31%OFF | PCIE SATA Card 24 Port with Cables, 6 Gbps SATA 3.0 Controller PCI Express Expression Card Support SATA 3.0 Devices Chia Mining

This is way better than the solution I posted haha, but it's a premium price too.
If OP needs more than 4 or 5 satas he'll probably need to buy this one you posted

This is just general advice, not a comment about "mining" chia.

Is chia mining more profitable than crypto mining right now?

Don't use a SATA splitter, especially with SSDs. A single SSD will saturate SATA3 bandwidth, connecting 4 to 1 port is insane.
It might be ok with slow HDDs where you don't care about speed.

Better to use a PCIe [edit: or USB] SATA controller card as others have suggested.

I believe this is way better because

1. The available slots are higher.
2. This one has a fan for cooling, better if you are going to use a closed case.
3. It draws power from a PCie slot, better than using a SATA cable to power.

Seller already sold over 20 pieces of this so it's safe to buy from them.

You can use this kind of adapter, it turns 1 sata to 5 sata ports
You'll probably only find online, I used to buy at aliexpress, it's hard to find at physical stores

Another solution is to buy cases for your HDDs and connect via USB

I have so many hdd in my store and I am thinking of building a chia mining desktop since last month, the time has finally arrive, I need an adapter ( if it ever exists ) that can give many rooms to SSD sata ports.
