if you want to get trusted team, you need to know them first, have conversation with them, and ask what the want and their commitment. I had conversation with a dev and he asked friendly things, that's why I was happy to work with him. however I'm interested to be part of dev team especially in advertising. if you are still looking for team, you can hire me anyway. thanks.

He mentioned that Toptal is the most underrated place for finding devs, so I guess he quoted it that way in purpose.

No, if he wants to make a point of his own, he should write his own stuff, when you shouldnt modify someone's quote to twist it into becoming something else than what it was originally. Basic NETiquette.

Lets not get into that discussion here & hijack this thread.

I don't get what's wrong with people. Why do you have to snip a quote in a way to make it look and mean like entirely something else than what it was written as??

I did not include Toptal in "Places to avoid"..
I included it in "Premium place where you are guaranteed to find an expert"

@OP I would probably look for the people with experience. If you will be looking here at BCT, you can check how trusted they were on their previous works and you could use escrow (secure for both you and worker). Cancelling in last minute is not an attitude of a trusted and professional worker imo, it would happen maybe if you've missed to explain how it really works and/or emergency purposes.

Anyways, are you running the project on private repo or how are you planning to make it accessible from remote locations ?
you could use github, it is a good alternative and you can give authorization to those working with you, and you can aprove the changes made

Don't pay for shit just yet, instead find people who are genuinely interested in your idea.Take help from newbie developers who'd get to learn a lot from your project.
in this part i am not completly agree, this would make your project take more time than needed. of course you need to find people interested in the project otherwise the work done wont be good enough, and before paying you need to be sure at least 90% sure it is a trustable person,i guess you wont find online better than that, you can't never be completly sure that someone you dont know wont scam you

first of all you need to know where are you on your project development, what are your goals(specyfic and concretes ideas). how to divide the work's left to know what skills should have your teamworks, so you can hire that devlopers or designers or what ever you need to get it done.
i guess you would be the project leader, so you should asign tasks to the members for getting it done on a specyfic date, you can't leave it to free will, mostly if you are paying for get the job done. Someone have posted some sites where you can find and hire people with the needed skills. be aware not be scammed.
and good luck

The only way to keep people from flaking out {as you have put it} is to find people that are just as passionate about your project than what you

are or to throw money at it to keep them interested. {Bonuses always work well, when they reach pre-defined targets} ...Satoshi only approached

people, who shared his vision and his passion. { Marti & Gavin & Nick & Hal } He did not even have to pay them.  Grin

Thanks, I've used a lot of those places to connect with developers and others that have contributed to SpacePirate. In fact the latest writer I've hired is from Reddit, someone that I met posting a similar question on the /r/mud subreddit

That being said, I have not tried: Golancer.com, Truelancer.com, or PeoplePerHour.com yet. I'll give those a try the next time I go resource hunting!  Grin

Dont forget to try "xbtfreelancer.com" it is solely based on Bitcoin payments and that site needs the support of our community as much as possible.

Well, you did make me laugh!  Grin

Say I have such resources, where would be a good place to look?

Yeah. Funny how the truth can be funny - isn't it?

Upwork is the worst place to work and hire online.

Best is to stick with these :

Freelancer.com

Golancer.com

Truelancer.com

PeoplePerHour.com

Guru.com

Fiverr if you are being frugal.

I'm working on my game development project and going it solo is taking a long time. I'm making progress, but would like to farm out pieces of it and then get other people later on to help with things on the marketing of it, etc. Everyone once in awhile, I'll get someone to help like with writing or things but most of the people end up flaking out. If you have a project in development, how do you get your trusted team together?
Let me put it straight, people would only work for you if they are getting something in turn.In your case, that is money.Hire a couple of full-time developers if you can afford or you can always start a open source repo if you want like minded people to work on it.You need to form a team first, share your idea with members around bitcointalk. As this is soley based out of interests, doubt many people like working for free on someone else's idea.

I am working as freelancer for few months from staring of this year, you can check freelancer.com but they don't accept bitcoin payments.
Also there is xbtfreelancer.com which offers similar service you can find someone that could help in these freelancing platform and also built in escrow feature will make you in safe side and you don't have to pay your team members without doing anything or without finishing what they have promises.

Sorry if you already know this and looking for another alternatives rather than hiring freelancers.

If you have a project in development, how do you get your trusted team together?

I'm new to Bitcoin and Bitcointalk (as you can probably tell with this being my first post), but I've been teaching myself how to make games for years. In that time I've had some limited experience working with teams, so I might have some tips to share. It depends though, are you trying to develop a normal game, or one that incorporates Bitcoin somehow? Also, what language and/or platform are you making the game with?

One tip I can share now is you should provide as many details as you can afford to. For the same reason that you worry about people flaking out, those who would actually be good team members also worry about joining a project that will likely flake. In addition, as obvious as it sounds, money really does improve your results. A team member is much more likely to do their job if they know there's profit on the line, though ideally they will also have a passion for the project.

I can offer more help with finding a team after I know what kind of game it is. I have art and programming skills myself, and have several contacts, but it really depends on what you're making. Finally, if you'd rather not reveal details in the thread, you can PM me.  Smiley

People I've worked with on Bitcoin projects have come from Bitcoin related Facebook groups that I've been part of. What type of game are you working on?
