I have no idea what's going on.

In order to accelerate it I need to pay $60 and it doesn't appear to be dropping out of the mempool either.

I'm in a similar boat -> https://blockchain.info/tx/8f8e4928592a27f69b7ec910e8cb71a4341b0358d81a3713e5fea28ac9a0660d

Didn't think 120 sat/byte was a bad fee but there you go.

Feel there must be a better way, something to make miners take a chunk of low fee, high wait transactions instead of just 'skimming the cream' all the time.

According to this site:

https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/

A transaction of 120 sat/b should take up to 840 minutes (14 hours), and yet it's pending since 6 days ago - how come?!

A good person from this forum helped us accelerate it by pushing the transaction to ViaBTC, without his help we would have never gotten this confirmed so fast.

What he's saying is: Anyone can add Metadata in blockcypher.
Look at your transaction, I added a metadata saying "01-09 Transaction is now receiving Confirmations.---bitcointalk-example".

There is something questionable with some Tx Accelerator Services, some are legit some are scam.
Some are just copy-pasting the Transaction id in the blockexplorer then labeling it "Transaction Acceleration Service".
Perhaps, someone must find a way to look for legit ones.

Anyways, 20sat/byte is good for 1-day transaction about a month ago.
I even used 10sat/Byte and only took 2days to get confirmed last December 1st week.
Maybe, keep away from blockchain.info wallet? Someone's telling me that it is not recommended.

It says in the bottom of the blockcypher.com link "Accelerated by toxigon.com" (we paid $5 for this service, it could take several days though).
do they just use free tx accelerator provided by miners and charge you $5?
btw, I just added metadata to that tx: Key: info-2   Value: anyone can add metadata
I'm just pointing out that it's easy to add public metadata to an address, tx, or block on blockcypher

if they said this, the tx may be confirmed just because your tx is next in queue to be included by miners
and NOT solely because the acceleration they may have or have not done.

This one:

The confidence level of this one was around 30% yesterday, now almost 46% - if it gets closer to 100% it means it will get confirmed soon?!

Cliffs:

  • We are one of the receivers for this transaction (it's from A-Ads.com - http://bit.ly/2m94fdw, what a shame they used such a low fee!!)
  • Our part that we want to get confirmed from this payment (that is causing another bigger transaction of ours to get stuck) is this one - 0.0050722 BTC to 16wgAfS2wtEmCECQXeziejSFLzcDTVbMm2 (unspent)
  • We use a Blockchain.info wallet

Can we do anything here to expedite/accelerate this shameful low fee transaction or at best just try ViaBTC and also rely on toxigon as well?

Any ideas will be highly welcomed and tipped as well if necessary.
