I'm waiting for a payment via paypal and i'm wanting to buy bitcoins with it. Around $150-$200 worth.

If someone can point me in the right direction that would be great.

Thanks

Well, I think it is better not to buy bitcoins with paypal in an instant exchanger site that accept paypal. I'd like to suggest you to withdraw it on your local bank account or open a thread in Currency Exchange board, make a good offer on the thread but dont forget to use a reputable escrow. Wink

As you can see, ways of buying BTCs with PayPal are just s**t! I suggest that you withdraw that amount of money to your bank account and buy on an exchange. If you don't want to get verified, just use localbitcoins.com, choose a reputable seller and send a money via online banking, a wire transfer. This will take 1-2 days, you will have much better rates as well.

There are some reputable users in the Currency exchange thread of this for that will also sell you bitcoins for cash in the mail option. This might be also a good option for you since your amount us not that big.

Paypal is reversible payment preocceser so there is no way to directly buy bitcoins via paypal however you can ask here on the forum that can help you but they might hold your paypal payment for long for security reasons.

You can post your demand in the "exchange" section in this forum, there you can find some trusted members using exchange for paypal and other wallets , you can ask them to exchange your fiat for Bitcoin, and you could also use an escrow for this

It's pretty hard to get bitcoin for an everyday average person that is new to it. Developers need to figure out a way people can use paypal easily.
I'm not sure what developers you mean. PayPal is a private for profit business that stand to lose more than most any other company as bitcoin expands. They offer the same utility as bitcoin except that it costs way more and can be trusted way less. PayPal not only has no interest in seeing bitcoin catch on, it hurts them. PayPal's developers are not going to work on this until they have no choice.

Bitcoin's developers work on a computer protocol that can be used by anyone who wants to use it. It could be a business or a just a person. It is up to the user (institutional or otherwise) to fit it into their business.

So far this has been difficult because many laws have been added to keep the "little man" out of the money. For example: many use cases for bitcoin require a money service licenses in each state. Some states charge millions of dollars for this. You may think that America is a capitalist system, but in fact often the markets are not free and are gamed by large banks.

Send it to a conventional bank account and a whole new world suddenly opens up for you.

Virwox has been the only consistent method. The fees for the honour of using it are grotesque.

Do you have a PayPal Debit MasterCard? Not the PayPal PrePaid MasterCard which will not work. You can use the PayPal Debit MasterCard to buy bitcoin at Circle. Just open a Circle account and go to settings then linked accounts. Next click on add account and add the details of your PayPal Debit MasterCard. Once your card is connected you can buy bitcoins and your PayPal balance will be used.

Virwox is the only company selling Bitcoins for PayPal, and even they do this officially just as a possible, second option (primary business is SLL although I think they make most profit with Bitcoin)

Otherwise localbitcoins would be another option.

Take note if you try buying with PayPal:

 - You get shitty rates
 - PayPal may closes your account if getting known of Bitcointrading
 - Sellers (eg Virwox) - often freeze your funds for a time frame of around 2-3 days before they release the coins.

just go to the currency exchange in this forum, there are trusted members who can help you out

I don't think its a good idea to buy BTC with PayPal as a payment for a newbie like OP on the currency exchange section, chargeback chances were very high. I agree with Cypherious, virwox is the best way to get Bitcoins with OP's paypal funds

Yes we can buy from any member but usually people get afraid of Paypal's buyer protection policy. When a buyer intentionally asks for refund, the seller will be forced to loose all his bitcoins. That's the reason we could not find bitcoin buying options with debit cards or Paypal. It really hurts bitcoin's progress.

Hello,

virwox.com is the only place i guess, they have limits and first time new user 48 hours withrawel delay. Also abit high fees but other then that i guess its the only legitimate site you can buy it from. You can also try localbitcoins but most users ask for id,selfie etc

oh,ok...

Don't really like a delay thing. But i'll check it out.

Thanks for responding.
