Not your keys, not your coins!
In trading view, with free account, you can compare two cryptocurrencies on a same chart.

With free account, you will have limited parameters at the same time on your chart but honestly from my experience, you don't need to have too many parameters on your chart at the same time. It only makes your chart more complicated and unnecessary messy.

Simple is best for your trading view with TradingView.

I can see that you have been provided with the needed answer and Coinmarketcap is the only site I can recommend.
With that being said. Why would you compare Bitcoin with other altcoins when you can invest mainly in Bitcoin to secure your investment since the current market trend is determined by the price momentum Bitcoin displays in the market?

If I understood you correctly, then CoinMarketCap should do what you're looking for.  Let's say you want to compare BTC with ETH:
Yeah it's really easy to navigate and get the desired results on CMC because you can compare with other crypto performance as well but from trading perspective you also have to analyse the single coin chart patterns.

CoinMarketCap : Users can view price charts for individual coins or compare the performance of multiple coins over time.
It has been mentioned above so little advice is to read the posts above to avoid writing something that has been already told as it will not contribute anything on your part. But still you have knowledge that what he asked about is good.

Is there a website that shows a chart of the prices of 2 or more currencies over time in USD?

I'd like to compare the price of Bitcoin vs USD vs another cryptocurrency to see if there's any other cause and effect.

May be important for investing in cryptos.

Here are the websites that you can choose from, besides, others were already given above.

Just choose which is best for you and have the option to compare individual coin pairs.
What I like most is Tradingview because it has a lot of tools and features that you can use while comparing prices or having price analysis in trading.

฿itcoin for all, All for ฿itcoin.
Charting tools like tradingview and coinalyze.net also have similar options to compare prizes of different coins, but they instead the chart to percentages and not actual USD  price to fit the two graphs in one chart.
Otherwise, BTC price would be way off the ETH price because of the different price ranges

Just click on compare

It is better you use any exchange of your choice to pin or star the coins that you like, paired with USD. You can compare the coin pairs individually.

What you do is to view more than 1 chart, like up to 4 at once on some exchanges  which you can use to be viewing the price of 2 or more coins at a time. As for my preference, I prefer 1 chart. And this is used by traders instead of investors.

Viewing chart is easier for holders. Do not make things complicated for yourself.

Thanks!

If I understood you correctly, then CoinMarketCap should do what you're looking for.  Let's say you want to compare BTC with ETH:

1. Go to Bitcoin's page: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/
2. Just above the chart, you will see a "compare with" text field, select Ethereum (or any other coin).
3. That's it. The chart should now show you both prices.

Yes, this is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks. Looks like there's no option to like a response here.
