I’m always buying bitcoin with what I can afford to. These cheap prices won’t last forever, you need to buy what you can now Smiley
I bought some satoshi and invest in other cheap altcoins because I believe when bitcoin started to recover those coins will also start to recover too.  Now bitcoin is extremely cheap and it might takes many years again before we see another cheap price again if the next bull start.
Why you did not keep your investments within bitcoins ? I guess you are taking unnecessary risks.

I mean when bitcoin itself too cheaper, I guess just investing within bitcoin itself will be highly profitable in coming months whereas altcoin investments may return you some big money or may not. It would be much better if we keep sticking with calculated risk levels. This way I believe bitcoin is having less risk compared to any altcoins.

I am a strong believer and follower of accumulation strategy. specially when it comes to bitcoin I do it more than I do in any other market (although I don't participate in them as much as before, like gold, stocks,,.. lately).

this means I am buying bitcoin at most of the times, but the amount I buy is always bigger with more intensity when price is considered in a dip like these days that we are at the bottom of a big and long drop.

My salary is not that big to allow myself investment in bitcoin. With such price I currently do mu best to collect it from my signature campaign's weekly payment. It's not much, but I believe when the price will raise for hundreds of percents again the sum will appear as not so bad Smiley

It's at $3,500.  How low can it go?

I bought more at $3600 and $3400

What's your sweet spot?

Are you waiting for under $1000???

What are you all waiting for? Roll Eyes

Its good to have shopping on coins when the market falls, when in fact i just bought a little again of bitcoin yesterday. I am not affected with those people who negatively speculates bitcoin but rather i am motivated with those people who become rich because of it. Believing doesnt make anything change, doing it is.
I think the sweet spot is around $3500, the current price is already a good price to buy if you will ask me.
I am not an expert but my opinion is that price will not gonna floor again, it has showed some recovery and I think we are due for a good run very soon.

As we all see now - it was necessary to buy yesterday when the price of bitcoin was somewhere around 3350. But in any case, even if someone decides to buy bitcoin right now, he will have every chance to get his x3 this year. The price is still damn low. Join the Bitcoin community right now if you still haven't done so.

Bitcoin has been trending down since the 20K mark. Sure it went up a few hundred bucks today but it is still trending downwards. If you buy bitcoin today it will likely go down more. Best wait until the chart shows an uptrend for the buying and holding strategy

this investment in bitcoin depends on a lot of patience and becomes very profitable if the person investing for at least 2 to 5 years. Let's imagine that you now buy 1 BTC for the price of $3650 and decide that you will hold it for 2 years. Hours later the price drops to  $3000, you will not panic because you have set a goal that you will hold for 2 years... and you will have profits after 2 years. But if you had bought 1 BTC for $ 3650 and hoping to make a quick profit, as soon as the price went down to $3000 you would panic and sell with losses. This is the problem that most people have when they enter the crypto world.

You guys post back at this topic when Bitcoin price goes down to $1000, or less, okay?

If the market is showing all the signals of a downtrend for this long already, it is smarter to not buy and hold.

So you want them to never post on this topic again?

$1000 is not realistic. The more time that passes in which bitcoin doesn't get close to even $3000 the more unrealistic even going under $3000 gets.

It's not spent 80 days in the 3000s range. It's already 10 days longer than Bitcoin spent in the 6000s range before the BCH split / hash war caused the market to plummet to its current position. Granted 80 days is still likely pretty early in the bottoming out of bitcoin, but its starting to not look very likely that bitcoin will go under 3000. Talking about $1000 is absurd right now and probably has like a 0.1% chance of happening.

The smart thing is always to buy throughout the bottoming out process, so that you can accumulate bitcoin for months, rather than waiting until its moving up and having to buy in higher and with a shorter window before bitcoin continues to move up even higher than that. Besides, Bitcoin is no longer showing "all the signals of a downtrend". Its showing all the signals of bottoming out, in which the downtrend signals go flat and eventually, some months from now, switch to uptrend signals.

It is way better to begin buying when the price is still going down, it may seem crazy but now the risk the price will go much lower is not that high so the risk you are taking is not that big and the rewards that you can get out of it are great, so I do not see the need to wait anymore, if you like bitcoin this can be the perfect moment to buy it.

I don't understand your post. You're saying it was flat and steady before it went to $20k? Thats not remotely true. The move to $20k and back to $3000s is just one of several market cycles that have already taken place. This is normal. It was anything but flat before that.

Buying between bear and bull markets (i.e. NOW!) and holding is the absolute best thing to do. You bought on the way down, okay thats fine, but its even better to buy now, this is the best time to buy for the future. But now, sell at 20x in like 3 years, wait a year until it levels back out at the bottom like now, buy again with some of the profits you made, do it all over again.

Just looking at the all-time chart for bitcoin, three stages are clear to me.

It began flat and steady.
It went into a parabolic curve that went up to $20K.
It went into a steady decline and we are now at $3500.

There is no sign of bitcoin going into an uptrend, yet. I am not buying until there is a noticeable change in weather and a noticeable change in the all-time chart. Buying and holding is unwise. How do I know?  Because I have been buying on the downtrend since during the parabolic curve and I have lost money the entire way down.

Good luck newbies. Cry Cry

Buying a lot since 2017 May and increased my buys especially since August 2018. Slowed down a bit for now after the last carnage ($6k > $3k) but still buying every month, just on a smaller scale than what I was buying during 2018.

I'll keep my buys small unless I see a clear bull signal and when the right time comes I'll get in with my heavy FIAT bags.

It is better to buy small and dollar cost average yourself during a bear period because you will never know the exact bottom price.

I thought $6k was the bottom so I made some heavy purchases at that price point and It turned out that I was wrong. Don't be greedy like me.

Hey $6k will still be great buys when the price is peaking again in a few years, but yea 3000s is much better haha. I thought $6k was the bottom too but luckily didn't start buying until it hit 3000s. As long as you're buying now (and obviously you've been buying for a while recently) we're all gonna make a ton of money over the next few years.

I’m buying regularly with each monthly wage. I advise everybody to do the same no matter how small the amount is. Prices will certainly increase & you’ll make good profits.

Patience is required though.

How are you feeling about all those transactions fees?  Those add up don't they??

Do you buy at Coinbase or where else??
it seems like now the cost of all transactions that occur has a very cheap value because the falling price of bitcoin makes the value of the cost cheaper, and maybe you can buy bitcoin in coinbase, localbitcoins or you can buy it directly on blockchain.info.

Well sound advice if you plan on staying in crypto for a long while and if you can afford holding for a year or more. The current price is fairly low that i'm quite confident that if you buy now and the price drops even more, it won't matter. I believe btc will be worth more than 10k in a year or two so buying now and holding would really be profitable in the long run.

If you are getting into crypto investments be ready to wait for a more than a year. Nothing happens over the night, crypto didn`t rise over night, it took years to get us here. It`s best to buy in dips, and if we are not at the bottom we will soon touch it, so be ready for continued downtrend. I`m optimistic person, it`s just reality, I`m reading some news and predictions about bitcoin going to 2000 dollars, even lower. FUD or not, i`m ready for everything that can happen, if bitcoin price drops that low it would be the best signal for getting in. You need to feel and touch the bottom, how else if not with buying on some levels, only time tells how right buy moment was.

I think a correction over time is going on so its a waiting game people have to wait to play out sorry.    I will say I think US dollar has topped out, if it made a new high then I might be especially bearish on Bitcoin but overall I think its just trying to bore people who expected fireworks.    Sometimes the technology has the job of just plodding on and proving itself through longevity and continued development, natural expansion is more important then speculation

The prices may break $3000 in the current bearish trend but don't expect it to fall under $1000 because it is really not good to invest if the prices reaches that level so keep your investment level high and buy your bitcoins soon.

Use Coinbase Pro. Takes like 4 business days to get the money from your bank to the exchange, but the deposit is free, and then you just make a limit buy order and there is no fee. Occasionally send it to cold storage for what like five cents per transaction. Transaction fees for getting into bitcoin the right way are basically zero.

Hell yeah I've been buying up everything I can afford since it went under $4000 in November. I've now bought as much since November as I bought in all of 2017 when I started buying bitcoin again at $1300 that year, but it has actually cost me less now than my Bitcoin in 2017 cost me!

All smart money is buying now.

The last time I bought it gave me a heart attack, this is my second life now. I wouldn't waste is this time. I'd rather wait for the next dip and wait til it goes back up to $6500. This will give me confidence that there is something that to watch out for. This bear are just losing people's interest, I see people who use to think aloud their facebook post to invest on BTC now they are telling followers to stop and look around.

That's the way of every bear market though. People lose confidence and get out or are too scared to buy at the bottom because despite all the evidence and history they think "oh maybe this time it really won't recover". Smart money accumulates at the bottom and they are the ones that get rich off the next bull run, the next bull run happens when those people that were too scared to buy at the bottom come piling back in at higher prices.

It's fine if you want to miss the bottom and buy back in once the bull run has already started. But the people accumulating at the bottom are the ones who reap the most rewards. The people who have been in the market for more than a couple years know this and are the ones accumulating now. The people who got in only in the past two years and haven't done enough research don't realize this is the best time to get in and they are either selling (the worst thing to do) or waiting for higher prices before getting in. I've been in since the last couple weeks of the late-2013 boom, and I felt the same way having not done my research and not experienced a bitcoin market cycle before, i thought it was going nowhere by 2015 and sold it all, now I know I should have been buying in 2015 not selling, and that's the point we are at now in this cycle. So now I'm doing it right and accumulating as much as possible in Bitcoin right now for the next exponential run-up that will take place over the next few years.

When I visited local exchange sites I find out that few are really buying and there are many that are selling and that is a sign that bitcoin is over supplies in the market and it means price might continue falling until something happens.

it's not a bad idea if we buy bitcoin at the current price, because even though later the price of bitcoin has recovered, we will still be able to feel the benefits.
we all don't know where bitcoin prices are low, but the price of bitcoin has now reached a price that is cheap enough to invest. it's better to invest partially first, and wait for the next bitcoin price news.

Yeah, OP here, I have been buying on the dip since it was near the big 20K mark. It's been tough because during this entire time the price has been going down, and I buy a little more every time it drops another 1000$. But if it gets to 3000$ I will just buy a little more but only what I can afford to lose. This bull run has been a long ride for me (total newbie) buying and holding on for dear life, and I am just looking to make a smaller profit from my combined entry points from buying on the dip. I do not expect to ever see another wild bull run like the one that happened when it hit 20K.

Been using Bitcoinwisdom forever

I do buy Bitcoin every now and then what ever price it is. Because somehow I think Bitcoin would really go up tremendously and people would never realize that.

Probably the correct attitude, people are buying into Bitcoin like its a  one armed bandit on the Vegas strip.   Its not going to spit out the result wanted just like that, too many trying for that short term so it goes up a bit and down a bit and mostly wastes time for most people.    It could still rise alot but I think most of the big moves have been ironic and come after it shakes out the short term holders on some seemingly bad news and then it rises alot anyway
I wont be surprised if it goes down before up to break this range, seems the bigger moves comes with higher volatility also

Buy Now Good Price

Yes I am on buying mode the movement the price came in 3k range as for me it is the best zone if you look for the good gains from here to start accumulating the btc and other altcoins as much as possible. Keep buying now if you really want to have some good wealth in near future.

of course there are still people who buy bitcoin, you can see the transactions in the market-market that exist today. even every day, I see some people want to buy bitcoin social media. the needs of each person for bitcoin vary, so of course there are people who buy bitcoin whether it's to be used as an investment, or for other business development needs.

If you're looking for a more featured graph for BTC's price than what Coinmarketcap offers, the BraveNewCoin (BLX) index (click for link) on TradingView's pretty good. The graph displays data to around July 2010, much further than most charts you'll be able to find, and TradingView's a staple of mine for viewing charts already. Bitcoinwisdom also has pretty decent charts.

I am looking at the all time graph history for bitcoin prices
Just look to coinmarketcap and click bitcoin.
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/#charts

or you can also see this
https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/price/

Am I wrong on what you are looking for? or you mean to say the 'all time high' graph for bitcoin prices?

It looks like the price is still going down down down.

Does anybody think it will drop below $3,000? Anybody think not? Cry Cry
Don't be sad if you see the prices going down. I thought you've been buying at the dip? I'm thinking about it that we might see $3,000 soon and I'm just preparing myself just in case it really happens.

I am bumping this to the top.  Bitcoin is at $3,400 today, right now.

So much for the buy and holder strategy.....  Undecided Cry
As long as the price is below $4000, I think its a good strategy to buy and hold. When the market recover the possible profit that you can get is high. We may have take more time on holding but if we are patient enough, good things will happen, don’t be sad while holding its worth the wait.

Well it may go below $3K or if can go above it. No one really knows for sure. There's some argument that we need so see a final capitulation of the price before we can see a bull run. But so far the price remains stagnant in the $3K'sh level and trading sideways for the past month so I don't see price going below $3K for now, not unless there's some negative news to trigger massive sell-off again.

It's at $3,500.  How low can it go?

I bought more at $3600 and $3400

What's your sweet spot?

Are you waiting for under $1000???

What are you all waiting for? Roll Eyes
I am not really waiting for anything if I had the money to buy more bitcoin I will do it without any doubt but since I have invested all the money that I could afford in the market the only thing that I can do now is to wait for the price to begin to recover something that is not easy when the price keeps going down and there are not positive news that could make us think that day is getting closer but despite all of those troubles I will buy some bitcoin as soon as I get some money.

If you buy for $ 3600, it's better to save it, just wait for the price to go up, there's no need to keep complaining with prices, everyone here doesn't know when the bitcoin price will go up, and nobody knows when the bitcoin price will rise. higher. will go down again.
Personally, if the price goes down, I still buy it as much as my money, after that I save, I am waiting for the price of bitcoin to really go up. Because I can only see, I don't know who I will complain about, because everyone doesn't know.
I will not see bitcoin for long term, because it will only make me buy bitcoin at a high price, I bought bitcoin a few days ago when the price was still aroung $3200, and luckily the price rose to $4k, but of course the price may go down again, because fluctuations make that possible, the important thing is to take the best chance, keep caution mate..

As you said, it's fluctuating. Even if this indeed is the start of a legitimate bull run, there will still be some dips in between. And it's still quite cheap at 4k if you ask me.
of course, prices won't go up forever, because going up and down will definitely continue to happen in the market,
the most important thing is that you can read the chart so you know when to go in and out..

Some people buy their bitcoin at price of $20000 so you are lucky that you buy bitcoin at that price because all people who buy last are now suffering in big losses. And, you are lucky to take one sweet spot in bitcoin.
People don't consider it to be luck, they strictly look at it as being a horrible event because they genuinely thought the price would break through $30,000 and probably even further, otherwise you don't buy at such levels.

Common sense would tell you to dollar cost average on the way down, but they are done with the market it seems. They are so frustrated, that they don't realize how useful it is to buy at current levels.

If you buy right now, and keep doing it below $5000 for a few more months, you significantly lower your overall buying price. Your break-even point won't be $20,000 anymore, but something far below the $10,000 mark.

I think many cryptocians now is buying bitcoin because its dropping and I think it's a great opportunity so when the bitcoin goes up we can make a great profit.  That's why some of cryptocians calm even the crypto market is bearish because they grab opportunity to buy more.

If you bought at those prices then you are making some really nice profits, now the only thing you need to do is to wait for the price to recover, you could be lucky and this could happen during the next months but you need to also be ready for the recovery to take longer than that and hold for years if necessary, I do not have a problem with that but some may have it since they do not have the intention of being in this market for that long.

I only buy BTC at the moment to convert to my bank account for living expenses as for now I am mainly investing in a token that has already mooned x 5 in a week and it will keep slowly now going up over the next few months. When I can make a decent profit from it I will try to buy one or two Bitcoins and hold them for when we have a bull run and then see what to do from there. It's a very good price now to buy into and although it is going up, there is still a lot of room to make a good long-term hodl profit from it and so we will see if it retraces now or goes even higher over the next few weeks. I am very confident though that Bitcoin will see better days going into the third quarter of 2019.

in my opinion the price will not be below 1000 maybe 2000 its very deep later

We still don't know about that since we all know how volatile the price of Bitcoin is. All we know and obviously we can see is that the price are slowly running upwards after of just a couple of hours. The price of Bitcoin may be great but dont forget that there will also be knvestors competing.

Some bought at this level while others are waiting patiently for the price to come down more lower than your bought price. Waiting for that price might be a journey to futility as the market has started appreciation within 24hours and more greens are show for possible bull run. I bought at a higher price compared to your price and i never regret it because much is on the way, buy more to get more richer.

You have a good fortune, and you got $300 if you really bought at a price of $3500. Indeed, it is a bit difficult when deciding to buy bitcoin especially in a market condition that continues to decline, everyone will argue that the price will decrease from that price and decide to wait a while. However, if you only rely on these factors, he will never buy bitcoin because his ambitions are large profits and do not want to lose, maybe the method is a little wrong if applied.

Your strategy is differ from other strategies. Some wait of bitcoin into more deep crash and buy more tokens. Some just wanted to buy a little bit of bitcoin and buy more when the decline will continue. Others just like to enjoy the crash for the investors who are buying. No money to buy is the sad part of being in this forum now. Hold your bitcoin because it can go to moon someday. The value could be in the all time high or the newest high bitcoin price ever in the future.

For yhe amount i buy at any one time the FIAT value doesnt make a

maybe to go down again it's already difficult, then chances are prices will increase, so now we can start buying, but buy safer gradually, because it's safer and we can always monitor price movements from time to time, no need to wait for prices to be too low , now we start buying. bitcoin will always give good hope if we believe.

Well, you cannot predict the bitcoin price as well the altcoins price, but i think buying for now is not a bad idea.
The price is still on the bottom. If bitcoin going down to $1000, i am sure that the price will correcting back above the current price.

Bitcoin will not fall below! In my opinion, stabilization at the minimum point is now underway. This means that after a while (a few months), Bitcoin will grow rapidly. At this rate, I’m waiting for it to go to $1.  This is coming from someone who bought at $12k.
It's going to take ultimately maximum catastrophic levels of bugs, fuckups, and global FUD(probably a global ban) to drop bitcoin to $1.

Holders of last resort will always take more bitcoin  Cool

It will never get back to $100 though.... too many holders of last resort...

Yeap. People saying that "bitcoin will drop below $1000" and other price points forget that there are lots of people who are extremely passionate about bitcoin and that who are willing to buy around that price. What more in the hundreds and below? These are price points that are simply really difficult to break through, and I'm sure even the technical analysis traders will agree.

it doesn't matter how low it may go because you will never be able to guess the bottom to start buying there. not to mention that the real absolute bottom will never stick around for long enough for everyone to buy in.
what matters is that the current price is a huge drop that has lasted for a year now and it can not go on for that much longer. so even if price drops more, it will still be a smaller one.

with that said, it has been a good time to  buy and yes i have been buying.

for me, yep

i done calculations on mining costs. as people will always be trying to find the cheapest way to get bitcoin. so there is always a dynamic at play between mining and buying.. or flip side profiting/selling

from my opinion of my maths i use a constant which is 104 multiple of mining exahash rate to get mining cost of majority
right now seems good, as there is slim speculative low froth(lowbubble) above the dynamic waterline.

hint:
next gen asics are in delivery and people will be getting them online around christmas/new year. so expect hashrate rises and the market/mining of which is cheapest way to get bitcoin play out (buying it will be = price rise when hashrate rises)

what people need to think more about is not to mortgage the house and buy in for just a one time hit, hoping for a one time double up within a short period.
but to instead take any disposable income. EG money they would waste on fast food, or a item of gucci shoes they wear once. or a lambo they dont mind crashing into a tree (depending on wealth level) and just use that to buy in regularly when there is low speculation/low value.
that way its not missed and not really life changing

EG if you buy bitcoin with funds that would have just bought yo fast food each week. then just buying fast food is literally flushing money down the toilet the next day. so buying bitcoin is a smart decision

Welp. I know "buy low, sell high" is the golden rule, and that it's theoretically possible for bitcoin to drop to $1, but come on let's be a bit more realistic here. It's going to take ultimately maximum catastrophic levels of bugs, fuckups, and global FUD(probably a global ban) to drop bitcoin to $1.

We'll see how confident and cool you are when you buy and in two weeks Bitcoin is down to Z.E.R.Oooooo Lips sealed
?
And this is even a lot worse. Just as delusional as people who thought bitcoin will reach millions in 2018.

Are you waiting for under $1000???
I think it will not go under $1,000 because it is already really cheap on the current price thats why some of the holders do "panic selling".

You invest at the good price I think there will be a good profit for you when the price goes back to normal.

Had to buy bitcoin at $3700 last month, didn't think it would last. Then it went lower  Cheesy

Now, it's wait and see if under $2,000 is possible or start again at the $4,000 if there's a rally....

Are you waiting for under $1000???

What are you all waiting for? Roll Eyes

Yes

Yes what?  Where is your sweet spot at?   Cool

I don't think it will go to the $1000 level any price you bought at $3000 level is good and will be profitable in the future, even a small pump going to the $4000 level is enough to give you a nice profit, I expect the bull run to come early first quarter of 2019 so many people predicted that.

Personally, I'm stashing like $20-50 bi-weekly, just for fun. Who know's we might start a bull run in like 5 years and I can buy my self-something nice with the accumulated amount.

Sca, man, that is seriously not much at all!!!  I mean the transaction fees are at least $2.99.  Those fees are crushing your profit margins badly.

Oh and 5 years?Huh  More like in 30 DAYS it's going to start blowing up again so you better get on board this investment QUICK buddy Shocked

I am thinking that a bull run could be a slow bull run that will not shoot up overnight, like the last bull run that went up to $20,000 buckaroo's.

Patience, patience, patience...

I do not have much to spend but I will buy on the way down from this point forth, at $3000, then at $2500, and $2000

In increments of $500 until she goes as low as she can go..... however much that may be.....

Happy Holidays!

I have not bought lately for lack of fluidity
Prices are suitable for me to buy
But in contrast I'm holding a long lifespan.

I doubt it would go at this rate. If ever it will happen then we should all take advantage of the discounted price.
Sadly a lot of people lose their investments cos of this bloodbath in the market.
If it will touch $2k then I'd start buying some coins. It would surely give me huge profit if I'll invest it long term.

We shouldn't let our emotions cloud our judgement. If we believe in the technology then we should not let go of
the goal that we set the very first thing we invested in bitcoin.

Let's just all think positive and hope for the best to come. Only the strong hands who will win in this kind of
waiting game. Grin
