What is the difference offered by bitwage or what is the advantage of bitwage I mean why not buy directly from reliable exchanger through depositing money into your account.

Bitwage is a good option for freelancers who need to receive money by direct deposit. It is similar to what payoneer does, just that payoneer handles only fiat while bitwage acts as an intermediary between fiat and bitcoins.

Seems like a very interesting concept that would have been really useful to me about a year ago when i was working overseas and struggling with ridiculous bank charges to shift my money back to my home country.

Local Bank: USD$10-20 to send... middleman Bank: USD$20-25 because #weCanTakeYourMoney... Home Bank: USD$10-15 to receive and shitty exchange rates Sad

In the end I found a decent little online money transfer outfit that happened to be headquartered in my home country that had tiny fees and good exchange rates. Your service looks like it could have saved me around USd$20-30/month easily...

Hi,

Jonathan From Bitwage here.  We have admittedly spent more time building our presence on /r/bitcoin over bitcoin talk (look us up on /r/bitcoin).  We have been around since July of 2014 and we enable anyone to receive their wages through our service without requiring their employers or clients signing up.  In the US or in Europe, this typically means receiving your wage in Bitcoin, Gold, Silver or some other foreign currency (not many people use us to receive in USD from the US lol).  The main value add is that we can do next-day payouts without limits into Bitcoin, we reduce the risk of your bank account getting closed down because you interacted with bitcoin, or you just want to skip out on banking altogether.  We have partnerships with Xapo and Uphold for our debit card and wallet services.

If you are an international worker, our service provides a huge value add.  You are able to receive your wages much faster and cheaper through alternative means, and your employer or client does not even need to change any of their processes.  For instance, Brazilians go from a 2 week process that costs up to 8% to a next day process that costs as low as 1%, all while receiving Brazilian real into their bank account.  People are getting paid through these services from companies and organizations such as Google, GE, Upwork, Gigster and even the US Navy.

We also post stats on user growth here at https://www.bitwage.com/usage.  Once you sign up and have performed a payroll, you can see more information, such as user growth and MOM statistics.

You can check out a cool video about our invoicing service on our youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUmKHVNooaM

Lastly, we are also insured for $2m of errors & omissions and cyber liability insurance.  You can read more about it here: https://blog.bitwage.com/2016/02/29/your-wage-is-now-insured/

Feel free to email us at [email protected] if you have any questions!  You can also tweet at us on our support twitter channel too: https://twitter.com/bitwagesupport

Best,

Jonathan

Looks good site , I really did not know this site before your post even though it has established in 2014 . I want to ask if this site provides legal service , because some countries banned Bitcoin , and how does it work ?
They also must have an announcement in this forum like many other sites which use Bitcoin .

I got verified this week and have provided my employer the bank account associated with my Bitwage account so i can have my direct deposits paid directly in Bitcoin. I have it set so 100% of my wage is paid in Bitcoin so when i need to pay for bills and whatnot, ill quickly cash out only the necessary amount.

How many of you use Bitwage, and what have your experience been like so far?

Interesting, this would be more appealing to international workers to avoid high fees for transferring money back to their families.

Haven't heard of it.
Don't know how long they have been around.
So what countries do they accept using them as a service since you need to provide them with a bank account to do the deposits to you?
Im surprised its not well-known in the community here. So, no matter where you are in the world, whether you are in the Philipines or the US, you can choose to have your local currency, be paid out into Bitcoin, or whatever other currency they offer. I believe they have 30+ international currencies?
