Safepal is not open source, is this whAT you mean as secretly? I can not use any wallet that is close source too.
Safepal is not open source (like ledger) but even worse thing is that nobody except Safepal (and maybe CZ) can verify what the heck is hidden behind those QR codes they use.
This is a big security risk for everyone who uses that wallet, and generally think that people should avoid using that wallet.
In contrast you have Keystone wallet that is also using QR codes, but you can verify everything and find instruction on their github/website.

Mobile wallet can be vulnerable to online attack but the second reason it is not good is because mobile device can lost at anytime, if hardware wallet is carried about, it is risky too. Bitcoin is asset just like gold, it needs protection. even at home, I will prefer to keep my hardware wallet safe.
You can lose keys from your house, wallet with cards, mobile phone or anything that you carry with you all the time, so it's safer not to carry hardware wallet (or seed words) with you all the time.
But than again, it's always possible that someone breaks into your house and steal you wallet with everything else, so it's not a bad idea to keep backup in separate place and use multisig setup.

Every crypto wallet (except airgapped) is vulnerable to attack - but you don't seem to have learned anything yet if you're focused only on device security, not backup security. You can lose any device, Bitcoin is on the blockchain anyway - all you need is a backup. All these geniuses who keep their hardware wallets in a safe deposit boxes or bunkers, and at the same time keep a backup stored in the cloud or email have really figured out some things Roll Eyes

Sure, QR codes are potentially better than USB, but not if they are made secretly like Safepal is doing.

I would not carry any hardware wallet all the time with me for various reasons, even if some of them look a lot like USB drives.
It's like you are carrying keys for all your wealth around the neck, but I guess some people like to live on the edge Smiley

If you don't mind, maybe you can also post your honest review in bitcointalk forum, since I am always interested in topic of hardware wallets and new stuff coming out.
I'd like to second that request, as I'm not going to see it on Newegg unless it's linked to here, and there's no need to click away from the forum when the text of the review could easily be included here--and I'm also interested in your review, philipma1957.  It sounds like you've got a nice thing going with either Newegg or their sellers.  I'm actually surprised when I hear things like you receiving free tech for honest reviews.  From what I've seen in the Youtube community, I was under the general impression that "influencers" had to stick to a tight script when doing *fake* reviews.

Then again, Newegg isn't Bitcointalk isn't Youtube, but I'm still a little shocked that a manufacturer would take the chance that a reviewer like yourself might tear their product to pieces.

I've seen the SecuX before, and I was just immediately turned off by its shape.  I do realize that pleasing aesthetics is way down the list of important features for a hardware wallet to have, but since Trezor and Ledger already make solid, simple wallets that are easy to use, how is a newcomer supposed to compete in the HW wallet market?  Ans: having all the features and security that Trezor and Ledger have and producing a sexier-looking device.  The SecuX looks like a woman's powder case or a stop sign.  Blech!

I ripped into a few items. A wd nas was crap 💩 I ripped it hard.

most gear sent is good four star ⭐️  or five 🌟 .

Like the corsair rm650x. which should show soon.

I know the
rm750x is a 4-5 star psu
rm850x is a 4-5 star psu
rm1000x is a 4-5 star psu.

I ran all of them with zero fails. basically if you understand the gears limits and don’t exceed them they are good.

When the 650x comes i will hook it up to a small 2  card build and test if for a month and get back a month later.

Based on the other models It can do 400-425 watts on a kwatt meter 24/7/365 for three or more years.

that would be a 4-5 star review. I know the cables in it are the exact same as the 750,850,1000 models
just a few less of them.

You can say it is a bias but I have used 20 or more of the 750,850,1000 models so I will compare them to the 650. and the 650 will have to do as well as them other than watts.

say

400/650
480/750
575/850
700/1000

If the 650 cant do the 400 watts for months on end it would be a fail compared to the bigger models.

Some hardware wallets started in the past to be using USB code for making transaction but malware can flow through USB. Later were hardware devices that can use Bluetooth for transaction, malware can flow through Bluetooth. These malware can work as a clipboard malware than can change receivers or senders address to another address belonging to an hacker.
Hardware wallets are usually not using normal USB connection, but secure so no malware could infect them that way, only way would be some keyloggers or changing of addresses by scammers.
Sure, QR codes are potentially better than USB, but not if they are made secretly like Safepal is doing.

My review will be on the newegg website .
Nice.
So it newegg sending you this hardware wallet or manufacturer directly?

My gut feeling on this wallet is if I can carry it around and key it into my phone maybe it is okay

My review will be on the newegg website .

They sometimes send me gear for free to review

I did a review recently on the seasonic case and custom psu

https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811315004?Description=seasonic%20case&cm_re=seasonic_case-_-11-315-004-_-Product

Look for review by Philip A.

while I gave the item 5 stars I clearly pointed out 2 flaws in the case

I did the interview in oct and updated today I still mention the 2 issues the case has.

This case and psu cost was 200-300 depends on sale.

newegg sends me gear 2 or 3 times a year.

I point out issues in the gear some of the time. I don't need to lie. Newegg still sends gear to me every year.

They will also send me an Rmx 650 corsair psu to review this month

Which is funny as I own the rm750x the rm850x the rm1000x but never had a rm650x

My gut feeling on this wallet is if I can carry it around and key it into my phone maybe it is okay

also maybe I can keep it in house with a burner phone and use them with no other stuff.

Do I think it is safe for 1 btc of coin no but what do I know nothing till I get it.

I do not know if malware can be transmitted through QR code but it is still the safest, it is safer than USB and Bluetooth.
If you mean storing a malware-infected file inside the code, no, I don't think that is possible. But a malware could be designed to generate the wrong address and make you transfer coins to an address that belongs to the hacker instead to yourself or the person you intended to send the funds to. It could also lead you to visit the wrong address where potentially other malware might be stored. That's all theory. I don't remember ever reading about someone getting hacked, or more precisely, tricked in this way.

This should be the reason modern hardware wallets should move to a more secure ones that use QR code which is still the safest among them. I do not know if malware can be transmitted through QR code but it is still the safest, it is safer than USB and Bluetooth.

If SecuX is not having a means I can use QR code for signing transaction, I can still use it but which is what I am expecting from modern hardware wallets. QR code create another method of airgap between hardware wallet and the software that is used for it which is not a direct plug in.

What can not make me to use this device is that it is close source, I can never use a close source wallet, it is dangerous than anything else, it is better to use open source wallets.

when given the chance to try this I decided to go for it.

i am interested in safety of it along with ease of use.
Do you have to write a review or make a video review about SecuX wallet or you are receiving this device strictly unconditionally?
Security score on that spreadsheet I sent you is one of the lowest, and I think that screen for W20 is not really trusted (not sure about V20), so I would not recommend it if you want safety.

Would I pay $139 for this wallet?
- No.

Would I test this wallet for free and only with pocket money?
- Yes.

Would I use this wallet on regular basis for more than a pocket money?
- No.

I like the way it looks and that it's equipped with a touchscreen. It's different from any other hardware wallet I have seen.
I don't like seeing Bluetooth, wireless connections, and batteries. *Makes me think of the Nano X.
Bragging about having tamper-proof seals is also not something worth highlighting really in today's time and age.

I have trezor and they are good

V20 model is coming to me for testing
...
I have zero idea if it is any good or honest
  any help would be welcome
I watched few reviews for SecuX V20 wallet and I did basic research about it when I researched (almost) all existing hardware wallet devices in the world.
I have to say that I am not impressed, and I wouldn't buy this device, but I would gladly accept it for testing.
Bad things I noticed about SecuX is that they are closed source, they have bluetooth/wireless connection, and you can't use them with any other third party wallets like Electrum, that means you are stuck with their native app, like it or not.
I guess the good thing is that you have known secure element and not so much problems like with ledger nono X.
One comparison I found gave this brand of wallet but different model W20 a very low score (open spreadsheet for more details):
https://cryptoguide.tips/hardware-wallet-comparisons/

PS
I think this topic should be moved to Hardware Wallet section:
