BCH is going up due to Growing adoption by retailers, low fees, rapid innovation snd fast transsctions. Btc is now being used by large corporations and global exchange support for btc continues to grow.

Bcash is going up for 1 reason, the Koreans are buying it (70% of the volume), they like to gamble. Adoption my ass  Roll Eyes

Edit: Also, apparently some Chinese miners are buying bcash with profits from Bitcoin, probably through Korea.

Jiang Zhuoer, founder of the world's third-largest mining pool, BTC.Top

"To be honest, I do not care about bitcoin now, bitcoin cash is bitcoin. I earn by mining bitcoin, [selling it] and buying bitcoin cash. We mine for the most profit and buy bitcoin cash."

Reason could be because of Bitcoin Gold. Or there might be some other good news brought about this coin and is the reason why it suddenly increased its price. But that's good to know, especially when there are some of you guys here holding on to this altcoin.

The reason it is going up is because Bitpay have announced that they might be including bitcoincash as an option in their merchant services.

Loads of retailers use bitpay, but usually the only option is bitcoin, no alts. So this is major stuff.

Here is the source of the info:

https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/7976p9/bitpay_ceo_hints_at_possible_bitcoin_cash/

Quote
BitPay CEO hints at possible Bitcoin Cash acceptance: "We do listen to our customers and for quite some time their number 1 complaint has been the high fees and slow confirmation times. We really don't like to pre-announce things though. Things move fast and plans can change at the last minute. "

South Korean is the only country that encourages BCH trading volume continues to increase. South Korean stocks include the earliest announced support for BCH trading and also in Korean.. BCH is traded to Korean Won (Korean currency). Well, surely i think this can be affect on BCH price is going up!

There will be some more Bitcoin Cash to sell after 1.1. 2018. when Coinbase makes it possible to withdraw it.. not all had Bitcoin in their private wallets..

Although the amount locked at the moment at Coinbase  is not too significant, because majority of holders was smart and cautious not to leave Bitcoin on Coinbase then..

it is simply because people were expecting BCH to be pumped because of SegWit2x right after the bitcoin gold fork happened. so they are acting up on it and buy BCH with their money so the price goes up. it is all speculation.

this will continue this way with a small and slow rise until BCH starts its real pump to enter the bubble and if bitcoin continues having the issues it has today with the spam attack and big backlog, the BCH pump will only grow bigger and bigger.

it is all profit though, i am not complaining. more bitcoin for all of us altcoin traders. let them pump BCH, we should just remember to dump it on top and not hold more than we are supposed to.

sorry but i don't get the correlation between bitcoincash pump and segwit2x fork in november, can you explain me please you point of view on the subject?
thank you

for ages whenever bitcoin has some issue (spam attack and high fees, China saying some shit, ETF being rejected, bitfinex was hacked,...) and there is a small bear market happening, the altcoins take advantage of this and pump hard.

for example you can look for the topics of beginning of this year February and March to see how Dash and Ethereum pumped hard because of bitcoin's big backlog and slow transactions.

we know the S2X thing will bring drama and what better altcoin to pump than bitcoin cash? so the speculation was there already and every pumper in place. and the simple expectation alone means price will be pumped.

there is also what BitcoinNewsMag said above. we all know bitcoin cash is more like an attack on bitcoin. evidence is the EDA that they have implemented in it to make it profitable and alive. so it is logical to think this pump is also an attack.

Yeah, just another pump and dump design to trap newbies into investing into bch. I have not seen any good news about bch in this forum or any other sources outside forum to warrant this surge. I just pity those newbies who will fall into this trap.

My two cents is that you can expect BCH to be pumped the next two weeks so miners switch hashpower to BCH from Core. This leaves less mining power on Core and could make it easier for btc1 to take over from Core at the hardfork. All the mining power on BCH could be transferred to btc1 at the right time if Chinese miners are actually coordinating a takeover.

Seems like the most logical explenation of all. Thanks for that.

I saw that a lot of people were going to invest in bitcoin cash because they had a lot of faith in this coin, but i dont understand why there is still people who are buying this coin, it is a forked coin, it is not even useful.
But anyway,  there were a lot of conspiracies when bitcoin cash got listed, a lot of people said that it was going to be the new Bitcoin, but it is false because it has dropped more than 50% since it got listed.
I dont know, there haven't been any news about this coin lately

Right. Recently, BCH does not have any events or information. It is also like other altcoins that accept a sharp drop in prices when Bitcoin hardfork.
Perhaps this is just the consolidation and push up price of shark. There may be reasons that I do not know.

Agree, BCH is too big of shitcoin for p&d groups. How much money they have to put in to move it on 20%? Like $300,000,000? Well may be its a Chinese whales group or smth like that lol
Im not really good in tech side but mining diff makes it more profitable BCH for miners which is always bad to the price so it prob will go down pretty soon. (but dont quote me on that if you're making a bet of this coin haha)

Anyone know? hit 404 today now at 392 and showing to keep going..?

If the Segwit 2x is a failure BCH will rise and will become number 1 in the market i think.

This. There is no such pump group that can pump such a huge coin and sustain it's price. A lot more money needed

they're preparing themself for another 2x,
a few days ago miners moving their mining rig to mine it and yesterday everything is back to normal,
which mean there'll be another pump in BCH in a few days later on or already pumped,
it's a preparation for them to face another event, they did not mine gold because it's not really valuable at the moment.

I sure as hell hope you are wrong and that wont happen, but it is fishy by the looks of it.
Miners need to be smarter and NOT switch from core, but most of them are just going to whomever pays more.  Embarrassed

It doesn't have to mean something necessarily, could be a simple pump for whatever reason (Higher demand/support etc). However, I recently read, on another thread here, that there was a spike in the total hashing power due to miners moving from BTC to BCH.

Shit coins always pump and dump. There may be a reason but they don't need one. Here's three anyways:

Could be 2x fork drama.

Could be recent hash spike.

Could be p&d group.
I see it as a combination of your first and last reasons. After all the noise about BCH taking BTC to the cleaners, which is never going to happen anyway, this could yet be a latest move to draw attention to the coin, but since there are no fundamental news or development to back the sudden rally up, it must be a pump and dump scheming to take advantage of gullible traders.

BCH is going up because massive amounts of korean won are being exchanged for it.
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash/#markets

This is the same as every huge BCH pump we have seen. Lots of Korean money being lost.

Maybe its something like korean pump and dumpers taking advantage of vulnerable investors through social media.
