Anybody know who this clown is:

You have just been sent a personal message by mixan on Bitcoin Forum.

IMPORTANT: Remember, this is just a notification. Please do not reply to this email.

The message they sent you was:

Hi Henry,

I saw your message about bitcoin for funds that you lost.
I am very sorry to hear about that site that you lost you bitcoins on.

I am here to help you.
I would do a transfer for you for your bitcoin.
You would need to send bitcoin to my address located in my profile first.
Then I can give to you either neteller, skrill or paypal funds which ever you prefer.
Just send and let me know when you have.

Thanks.

Mixan

HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh?

Just another scam artist?Huh  or  Legit purveyor of client based services?  Anybody want to send them bitcoin to find out for me?

Another opportunist which seeking holes to scam someone and trying to convince to send bitcoin first to him to retrieve yours?Just a pure scam indeed and should not fall for this easily.Dont believe on it if you dont want to lose even more money.Regarding on the site it my first time to hear of it.
For now because of heavy users of bitcoin right now and nearly christmass many people are trying to scam some here in online and to earn instant money from others.. if that site is new better to stay away because there is higher chance that you will be scam..
It is better to go in legit and well known site than using their service that you did not know if they are legit or not.

What is this site? I never heard of it before.
If it is a bitcoin for paypal exchange site then it is a scam.
They all go scam eventually. Just look what is happening on ecoin wirex site. Roll Eyes

It's a website that offers to exchange bitcoin to paypal for a fee.  The gatekeeper who manages the transactions is engaging in selective scamming.  And coinbase changes bitcoin to paypal if you have an account.

I doubt I will receive a response or my bitcoin, so my search for the elusive Dr. Moriarty continues.  There's also rewards being offered for his whereabouts.  He is eventually going to become a very valuable target to a very clever investigator.

i did check it and i used past the scam report you mention. and it worked
I thought maybe the owner is here and could assist me.

Huh. I see. Well then, makes me wonder why you proceeded to use it and actually send money there despite knowing that owner is the alt of a known scammer?

Anyway, no luck coz the owner hasn't been active here since October last year. He's probably using new alts.
Maybe try sending him 'plea letters' like the other guy from the ripoff report. (He did get his money after that letter. Might work, who knows.)  [email protected]

I guess you didn't make a simple check for scam accusations/issues before using the site again?
Especially if a while has passed since you last used it?

There's an accusation on their thread, July 2016.
A simple quick google search turned up a  "Ripoff Report":
September 2016:

The website offers the opportunity to sell bitcoins for PayPal.  I got on their website and looked it over and everything looked legit.  I was in a little financial crisis so decided to sell some bitcoins that I had.  The transaction was complete and I was able to check the status of it.  On September 2nd my transaction was approved but no money was ever transfered.  I have submitted three help tickets now and there has been no response.  Stay away from this website!!
There's another one for October or 'nearly'. The guy sent a sort of 'plea letter' to cointopal to not scam him.
He says it worked for him. Maybe you could also try that. Who knows. Grin  But your coins are most likely gone.

After i hastly made the transaction i got a afterthought about what i had just done!  i had sent nearly 1 BTC through this website which i didnt look at sucupilously for any reviews or signs of scams (as i usually do)...my heart felt heavy and after i saw the ripoff report i was even more worried about what i had just done! Given around nearly 600 USD to somone ..a complete stranger!
i honestly was feeling sick by now at the thought of how stupid i fell for something like that.  I wrote a support letter (a plea in my case for the guy not to scam me) and waited...at that stage it was the only thing i could have done tbh.     I slept onit and woke up a few hours later and eagerly refreshed my transaction ...(you need to keep the transaction window open as there seems to be no way on the site to enter a transaction number)..it said 'approved' after being in pending for more than 6 hours.. i then checked my paypal and lo & behold it was there! ...Halleluyah!
