all in all, it doesn't pay much, but it's free money while the market is flat. otherwise i'd much prefer to play the swings (if they ever come back...)

If you know what you are doing and have common sense. The real money isn't in loaning BTC. You should try your hand at trading on LBC. I have been very successful there. You have basically the same risk as loaning BTC to others, but your profit is much higher. This has proven to be both entertaining and lucrative for me and I recommend trying it.

What percentage do you add on the price? And what kind of trades are you handling?

And in the last time you read many bad things about localbitcoins. Hacked wallets, scams happened and such things. No fear that your small profit will be eaten and your own money on top?

I noticed you can do that on Bitfinex.com

Daily interest rate is very low seems like you'd have to have at least loan out > 60k to get anything decent back on that investment.

...

isn't the interest rate .06 of a percentile? that is .0006?

So if I loaned out 1500 USD i'd make 250 bucks after about 250 days?

Youre probably right. Though still, its something like 20-30% annual return. And bitfinex is relatively established. It was double that value a month ago. Changes with the confidence in the bitcoin price.

Im not sure if there are many other bitcoins "investments" that can yield that return at all.

If you want to get interesst from Loaning , you should try BTCJam which is the most famous as far as I know , however just make sure to check the users if they are Verified as should be [ Bank accounts , Paypal accounts , ID , Passport etc ... ] and what class they are [ A,B,C ]

Here is their website [ https://btcjam.com/ ] , also check the video on the bottom very helpful to understand how things really works .

How big is the annual return there if one only choses trustable users? Lower than bitfinex?
