Yes u can use it without any problem , one problem of google authen. if u lost it u will have alot of problem to recovery it =( But others auth i known if u lost it u could restore it without any problem and use it more again . I use google ones but i need easy restore possible too , becose if u lost u phone it will be alot of problems to restore auth. only if u have private key to restore it but it take alot of days Sad

If you have 2FA verified OR code with you means that is very easy to recover your wallet. Google authenticator will be works with the scanned code or entered code. If you add the same 2FA access key again as a new account on Authenticator.
You will be able to access the 2FA locked wallets.
@op if you want to try on any authenticator tool except Google or paper. Please get the suggestion from experts who are all using it for long time.

Using google auth is secure rather than U2F. Just what you have said its a big problem when you lost your phone were you are using the google auth. There's somehow a way to resolve or to refrain from that kind of issue by just keeping the key that were given to you by the platform.
