Actually I subcribed their website for awhile, but seem not much updated info. The profit for storage mining is getting less. So not much choices now, I'm in Burst coin mining. And it's just for fun now lol.

Anyone who knew how much funds were raised for this project will actually be waiting for its progress. It will come sure about that and some of those who are aiming to mine altcoins might just be focusing on this one. This project as far as I know is one of the project that collected millions of USD. Though its not really being flashed on the news but $257 million is way a lot than the ones I have been investing before.

As Storj, is it even profitable with a fair electricity cost and hard disk cost?
They are upgrading farm system to v3?
At the moment the yield is very low, but soon will be released version 3.

See news about V3 on Blog:

Just checked the blog, v3 doesn't seem like rising the farmers' reward.. Hope one day storage space mining would be more profitable so we attract more farmers build the ecosystem.

I just looked into it because of your post and it's nothing for me since it doesn't use PoW but Proof of Spacetime. This means that you have to allocate harddisk space and when information is stored on your harddisk then you get Filecoins.

Therefore I would say it's not for the typical small miner aka end user but indeed for owners of server farms you mentioned.

Yeah right, base on the Proof of Spacetime, you need hard disk to mine Filecoins and giant companies have way more storage space that can be provided. However, the team behind Filecoin said they would like to design a protocol that data consumers can retrieve data from the nearest node(ideally within 1kilometer), this might lead to a chance for smaller miners get more reward than they expected.

I'm planning on mine Filecoin once the mainnet is launched. Wondering any miner here has interest in Filecoin mining.
Also, do we have any rumors about giants(i.e. Pools, Hardware Manufacturer, Data Center) panning on mining Filecoin
