Hi Guys,

I am deciding for the first time to mine with my GPUs (Long Term) pretty much 24/7, I have ordered 3x Liquid Cooled 3080s and they should arrive sometime soon, do you think there is anything wrong with mining with GPUs Long Term ? and how long will they last taking in consideration they will be Liquid Cooled in a premium desktop rig, ATM am mining with my LC 1080Ti and temps never go above 55c, let me know your thoughts..

while we are at it, will 1200x PSU be enough ?...

thanks,
Over time, you will find that a liquid cooled installation is very expensive.
You can buy video cards that have enough regular cooling, for example, 3060 or 3070.
Or buy 3080 video cards that have good cooling, for example Palit Gamerock

Liquid cooling will prolong the life of your graphic cards that's certain and also the gpu you plan on buying are top notch so they have support for all other algorithms too, you can make back your ROI in less than 6 months

I am mining 1080ti's for 3 years 24/7/365 days  trick is fans at 70% and power at 60%

I have evga 1080ti's hybrid
I have msi/corsair seahawks 1080ti

None failed I had 28 of them sold 16 still have 12 left.

So power limit set to 60% only for your cards ? what do you mine ? can this trick be applied when mining anything (am using nicehash..)

do you OC the mem or not needed ?...

thanks,

Lets say I point a card to nicehash. Nvidia I can set the power to 60% oc the memory a bit set fan to 70% and see what it does.

GPUs last really good when they are used for mining. Mining BIOSes often undervolt/underclock a GPU that it runs actually more stable and doesn't have nasty peaks in power consumption.

All of the GPUs that I have received for repairing have broken down during gaming or by physical damage.

where to get those mining BIOSes from Huh

Also how to go about undervolting the GPU if needed to prelong their life ?..

thanks,

GPU mining is fine for GPU's. Most of the time they are undervolted so would probably last longer compared to someone maxing out the voltage slider during an OC.

Also this is the wrong section, its for BTC mining hardware only. I've asked mods to move it to the "Mining-Altcoins" section  Wink
