It is how every company/government would react once they feel threatened. That is why I created a thread called "Decentralization is a dream" were I said that maybe cryptocurrencies does not need better adoption. It could kill them.

Apple is not threatened by something which probably only has 100 users maximum, not counting the speculators who are temporarily-embarrassed millionaires.

The anonymity coins are a legal minefield and we will see them blow up when the authorities lean on entities, such as Poloniex, who are enabling them.

It’s unfortunate that Apple has decided to censor the Jaxx implementation of Dashpay. This may be due to the large tech firm censoring a protocol application that could provide users financial privacy. Apple had taken issue earlier this year when Ethereum was added to the iOS cryptocurrency roster and eventually let that specific token slide.

It seems Apple only considers a few approved coins on iOS which are Bitcoin, Litecoin, the DAO, Doge, and Ripple according to Decentral’s CEO Anthony Di Iorio.

So its okay according Apple to have a hacked-to-death coin like theDAO in that app but privacy-focussed cryptcurrencies are a no go .... no wonder Apple is losing customers
and selling less phones.

I think that it is related to the fact that slock.it looks more presentable. It is more established, more mainstream, more "start-up", like they say. Dashpay, beside having a name sounding like Apple Pay, is too dark and obscure, as they intented, and Apple probably don't want to get associated with that. They only want cool and hipsters coins.

wow. I really didn't think apple were paying that much attention. it looks like they're not really paying the right type of attention though. I wonder who the guy is in apple hq who sits there approving the coins and what his criteria are.

maybe it goes on nothing but publicity or maybe he shouts out the names in their open plan office and only includes the ones when people raise their hands.

Maybe Apple wants Dash removed because it views Dash with its goal to become a decentralized PayPal
as a direct competitor to its own Apple Pay system which they started not so long ago...

Your "Apple is afraid of Dash" meme is hilarious.

Jaxx is already a "decentralized PayPal" and it doesn't lock users into any particular coin.

Stack it on top of shapeshift and there's no limit.

If they don't remove that Apple Pay-killer, it's pointless to remove anything else.

Besides, everyone who isn't named qwizzie knows Apple Pay is dead, just like their stupid watch.   Grin

Gonna sound stupid, but I had not heard of Dashpay.  Didn't know you could actually use Dash for anything...and I actually own some.  Oh well, doesn't surprise me in the least, but things can change.  And I'm sure people are going to be rushing right out to buy doge to spend.  Lol.  Not sure why anyone would want to spend bitcoin, much less any altcoins.

Check the merchant map link at my signature, there are actually places where you can spend your Dash these days,
also check here : http://spenddash.com/

Once Dash Evolution is out next year with its DAPI and its web wallet (which will be accessable through any webbrowser), the real fun begins
and the restrictions of Apple with regards to apps wont matter anymore.

edit : unless they gonna revoke all browsers on their iPhone  Undecided

LOL, 3 results found in United States of America, and there's nothing I would buy or spend money on.  It's a good thought, that website, but this doesn't surprise me.  There definitely is a need for an app whereby you can spend Dash (and any crypto) much like a debit card or PayPal.  Buying things with it directly isn't going to work unless crypto really, REALLY gets widely adopted.

But thanks for the link, my friend.

You are very welcome .. hopefully these two sites and its content will grow in the future

Dash is still trying to decide whether or not to perform the due diligence that should have been done before launching the project.

Cite:

Proposal: Legal (September)

https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/proposal-legal-sept.10457/

1) Legal opinion on the treatment of masternode block rewards under the Internal Revenue Code
a. Whether they are treated similarly to mining rewards, interest, or other tax treatment
b. Tax treatment of the initial collateral “investment”

2) Liability of masternode owners for the transactions they facilitate
a. Whether masternode owners may be responsible for criminal activities connected with transactions they facilitate
b. If so, under what circumstances
c. Whether participation in “mixing” services might give rise to criminal liability
d. If so, under what circumstances

3) Liability of exchanges that support Dash transactions and guidelines on meeting existing compliance
a. Whether an exchange might be held liable for criminal activity associated with PrivateSend transactions

Jaxx should have known better, but they were bribed by Evan to add Dash.

It's been clear for years the Dash Masternode HYIP is an unregistered illegal investment security, and it's not surprising Apple is swinging the banhammer.

the SEC will be coming after you eventually for very clearly running an unregistered illegal investment security (and you come from the finance world so you know very well that you are skirting the securities law). Hope you've paid off the regulators with the $million you mined from the gullible speculators in crypto. Personally I don't see how it has been worth it. The $million you've perhaps pocketed will never sustain you to be rich for the rest of your life, and you will constantly have hanging over your head the threat of SEC action at any time in the future. That is criminal liability in exchange for $million. Not worth it. You are nearing the end of the road for your run.

I have studied the SEC regulations and all these marketing to speculators is clearly a violation of the Howey test for being an unregistered illegal investment security. It doesn't matter how you've obfuscated it by pretending the masternodes are in control, the Supreme Court has consistently said that the test overlooks any attempts to obfuscate the economic reality of the situation. Then on top of that is the evidence of deception with the premine and the advertised money supply protocol being altered ex post facto, etc.

And afaik you are a USA citizen, so thus you incur the maximum culpability.

The team at Decentral recently announced that Ethereum Classic would be supported by their flagship product the Jaxx wallet. Alongside this very announcement, the team received word today from Apple that they want Dashpay removed from the Jaxx interface.

apple at its best. this does not surprise me at all. apple often behaves like this and kicks apps out.

Potentially more hassle than it's worth. Don't think it's personal or nothing like that just business.

Apple have probably seen all the dark coin scam threads and want no association with it.
