Is this possible or BS?

There are multiple complexities about this.

First of all the dex must have API so that data can be actually extracted from it. We don’t know which dex it is nor which did you get the information from but if they say that they are doing it then it must be real. So yes it is possible but is it accurate and reliable data they are extracting?

That’s hard to identify so we must thread lightly.

I asked this question to them & they replied Application Programming Interface.
To whom you ask about it? If they answer really is API, then it's possible. Aside from what said above is true about it as open source, API requires API key for you to communicate or fetch data from website A to website B. Of course, website A can only be the one who can give api key to those who wants it if depends on their decision or if certain requirement is met.

Is this possible or BS?

Most DEXs are built on some form of smart contracts on some specific chain which inherently makes them open source. So, I assume that it is technically possible to create an API that will tap into that smart contract and extract data in real-time.  But, just because it's technically possible doesn't mean it's easy or guaranteed. If this alt coin startup is dodging the question about how they're getting real-time data, it raises red flags. So I wouldn't rule out BS just yet.

I have a question about Application Programming Interface and whether this is possible.

I wont name the alt coin to prevent shills

I was looking at an Alt coin startup that claims it extracts data from another DEX like platform (of which it probably competes with so there is no co-operation between the two) in real time and can filter that data to allow users to make the best buys.

I`m not a programmer but I would assume this site would require a data feed from the 1st site to do this? (this source site is unique so not like a DOW market index)

Its like me saying I’m creating a website that filters vitamin pills on Amazon in real-time, but short of looking on the webpage & manually keying the info in how can I do this without a data feed from the source site?

I asked this question to them & they replied Application Programming Interface.
