You are saying right. The thing that annoys me the most here is that all those newbies are so lazy or count themselves so unique that they open a new topic like 'what is bitcoin?'  or 'who is Satosi?', a basic topic I mean, over and over again. Guys, there is 'search'  function on the forum which will help you to find replies to all of your questions fast and easy. Use it, please.

No offense sir but do you believe that tongue is a two edge sword? How ironic that you disagree with other members creating unwanted posts but what seems right now is you also do the same act. I don't say that your post is not substantial, this kind of posts just already done many times before (replies from other members are all right).

I believe that you are not spamming, I believe that you only express your ideas about improving the forum, but how about other's perpception? You can't control what they're thinking so I think much better for you to play safe, avoid creating threads that are almost the same with previous ones and continue being a good member here.

You have a great attitude by the way, keep it up and good luck to your journey Smiley.

Recently, new/ lower ranked users tend to create new topics on merits or post new threads in those topics with the hope that higher ranked users will send them sMerits for joining, posting, discussing their ideas. I am not sure that all of those topics/ threads which created/ posted by new accounts are high-quality ones. Nevertheless, they simply did it and kept their hope. That's the fact of the forum recent days (about 1 week after the launch of merit system). I believe that over time (might be 1 or 2 months), they will realise that using the approach won't help them to get sMerits, then they will stop creating spamming topics and posting almost identical threads.

Let the forum a little bit more time to adjust itself and let users more time to realise the mechanism of merit system.

Yes, i agree with you, i studied several foreign sources, where i learned a lot of useful information for a beginner and not only, then i translated them and decided to share the knowledge accumulated in my local thread, i saw a few merits and i am grateful to those who have appreciated me for my work.

Indeed, sometimes the information can be repeated, I try to avoid it, I often see some stupid posts that will simply be plagiarized without change and are appreciated with merit, at first I thought it was enough to post something original and informative that you deserve, but it was not, so we lost the enthusiasm ...

You are probably the first newbie I've seen that isn't complaining about the merit system. I've been here for years, and it's about time we finally have a system that attempts to eliminate the shitposting that has been plaguing the forum as of late. The rules are simple, post good quality content, and you'll be rewarded. You'll rank up, and you'll benefit most from contributing most, that is how a balanced ecosystem works.
Maybe this one is alt account of a Hero or Ledgendaries in the forum. I am not sure. If this one come from account farmers, that means they (spammers) have adapted to new ranking system related to Merit points.
Nevertheless, It's extremely good if a real newbie has sort of positive thinking about merit system.

Very simple and it does not work, it is the bad thing about this system. In theory it should work but in practice it does not work that way.
And worse is when you are using the local forums, many of us feel more comfortable writing our native language and that should not be penalized but the reality is that if you write in local forums the amount of merit that you receive regardless of the quality of your post is nearby to 0.

However, to be a full member, you need 100merit (as I know)
Its very hard for a newbie in cryptocurrency

It is not that hard if you post good posts regularly. You will see a lot of members already quitting just thinking that they will not rank up. That decreases the competition for you.
why is ranking up so important ? you can still post and read the forum

Really, merit system is not used as a reason precisely spam and others do not make articles arbitrary. Smiley

And this is the way merit system promotes good quality posts.. Low rank members begging for some points, saying good words about the new system.
Great quality!

How long do you think it will last ? And also how many points can one get by begging here ? I am soon we will see some members getting painted red as well for begging for merit. We do not need people who are here to cheat the forum rules.

I appreciate you making this post appreciating the merit system on this forum. But kindly refrain from creating new threads on topics already discussed here if you have nothing extra to add. You could have simply posted your opinion about the merit system on official thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/merit-new-rank-requirements-2818350

Newbies are just posting some new threads about merit system for the purpose of gaining some merits. Like here in meta so many Legendaries here can give you atleast one merit so don't be surprised if some newbies like them are posting like this .So many new threads everyday about merits and its always thesame and Im being lazy to read repeated topics. So many users also felt like this thesame .

Soon don't be surprise if the moderator's will start to delete new threads about the merit system. Like you've said they should refrain from creating repeated topics, and it doesn't more helpful for us to read.

Merrit points won't address this problem. Some members will just keep posting all over the place in the hope that somebody will give them some merit. The answer is moderation - deleting posts, moving them to the correct boards, and merging threads. This is the only way to streamline the forum in my opinion.

I'm a newbie but I have been a bitcointalk follower for quite a few days.I think this is the best place to gain bundles of knowledge related to cryptocurrencies but this forum is being polluted by unwanted posts which are covering up some valuable information.I found a lot of people just waiting for convenient answers and results instead of analysing information already existing in the forum.this is the best way to reduce unwanted posts and have a quality conversion on important topics.this should be appreciated and we should make this forum even more interesting and take this to next level Smiley

First of all congrats on getting a merit point for the first post you made here. I guess you are the first one to achieve this. I also agree that this new system will reduce spam here.

It's like the Merit system, you're luckier than me, we are the same newbie, but you have merit and I do not have them yet ,,
You have a point about public posts that overlap with some important information. But the benefit is something that depends on the interests of others ,,
We must impress certain people who may not appreciate you for lack of smerits ,,
I hope there are co-workers who Merit and tell me how to get good Merit ,,

I do believe that a sound and constructive communicator would appreciate this merit system. The system is nice and workable to push out lazy posters but I just hope that it won't be dragged to the mould by favouritism.

I'm already seeing signs to that favouritism. If mode could come up with ways to check these cheaters that are beating the system, it will be appaulded .

That is exactly what is going on after this merit point system.
I have seen newbies jr members linking to one post to another where you can get merit points.
There was real value at all in those post replies but they seem to get merits for doing that. lol
I thought merit points were supposed to be give for quality posts not linking to those merit bestower's
post where they were announcing that they can give merits.

If you are talking about those members who are giving away merit points, that is a good initiative. It is a nice way to get some exposure provided we have so much competition for scarce merit points now.

You definitely have a point regarding common post's overlapping some important information.but merit is something which is dependent on others interest.post by you should impress particular people who might no award you because of lack of smerits.what ever the reasons may be,a small amount of negativity impacts on newbies (a feeling that we are late and not allowed to party) however I feel this is a good move to an extent but it hurts.
