I would also like to note that this is a prime example of why platforms banning cryptocurrency ads is a good idea. They mostly don't do any good for anyone but scammers. It sucks that there are (very few, I'd guess) legit companies that will be hit by this, but I'm sure these changes alone will cut down scam victims and hit scammers where it hurts.

Sorry for your loss OP. That was a very expensive lesson.

Yeah man that sucks... but at the same time did you really expect that you had found this magical gold mine of "guaranteed" 2X on your BTC without any explanation as to asking how the hell exactly that was supposed to happen?

It's a tough lesson, but taking personal responsibility for your belongings and other currency/assets is a good one to learn.  I wonder what you would do if someone came up to you and say "Hey if you give me your $20 bill, I will give you a $100 bill back".  I would hope you would just walk away quickly...

BTC's transaction is not reversible, and once the transaction is done, it will not be recovered!

BTC is almost impossible to recover if the virtual institution of the charging transaction intermediary commits fraud.

Fraudsters have identified various virtual currencies as sophisticated targets of fraud.

Such fraud is widely available in the Online world, and I also experienced it at that time and it was very misleading and by that time I just returned 50% of my money and after that there was also a scam on the hyip site that I follow.

HYIPs are scam no matter if it uses Bitcoin or any payment processor. HYIP is a platform connecting scammers and victims.
By investing in an HYIP you participate in the crime helping to scam innocent people. If you didn't even know what is bitcoin how that comes you bought 1 BTC and invest in another thing you didn't know "HYIP"

Well don't worry, you weren't the first and not the last. But on the www, when it's too good to be true then it'sn not true

HYIP is just another word for "scam". People mistakenly believe that a site advertising itself as a HYIP ("scam") isn't a scam. Now you know that HYIP means "scam". Tell your friends.

Your first mistake was paying over 2X the going rate way back in April 2016 but the rest of the story is also heart-wrenching.  Maybe you can sue YouTube to get your money back?
