It'd be kind of morbid.
Your points have overridden my views on this subject matter. I guess I never give deeper thought to the give and takes of this subject matter. I will probably lock this thread or outrightly delete it at a later time.

There's already Bitcointalk's Hall of fame made by tranthidung, OP.
Making a dedicated board for it would be too much just like what TP stated.
A single thread would suffice to memorialize members that had passed on.

I wouldn't assume COVID is responsible for the disappearance of any of the members who died recently or who haven't posted in a while.  There have been members who've gone off to college and taken a long break from the forum (like Your Point Is Invalid if I remember correctly).  And some just might have outgrown bitcointalk for whatever reason.

A board dedicated to verifiably deceased members would be a bit too much IMO, but a thread probably wouldn't--but I think each member who's died (and that was respected by the community here) has had a memorial thread of their own already.  I don't know what purpose a thread dedicated to all the dead members would serve, except to catalog their deaths.  It'd be kind of morbid.

Bitcointalk forum is a large crypto community with various individuals, which is hard to monitor their existence due to
anonymity, but not entirely impossible to monitor their existence.
Lately, with covid-19 and other circumstances that lead to the loss of life or deliberate exit of some forum members, it will be a pleasant idea to have a thread or board dedicated to our departed members who have contributed positively to this forum in various capacities.
This will help to immortalize their memories on the forum.
And also helps forum members with the status of such accounts when dealing with them in the future, in case such accounts suddenly become active in the future.
Suggestions on how to make the list
1: if an account becomes inactive for several years
2: when a user is announced his/her exit from the forum or reportedly dead.
Clear case example.

I regret to say in public sunshine that unforeseen pressures in the shadows leave me no option but to leave the forum permanently.
