We often see coinmarketcap has lots of ads like advertisements that say give ETH bonuses and so on. Because now Coinmarketcap is owned by CZ, do they research that project or only accept money without doing research?

About that case, I had no idea. Perhaps better do some research regarding about that matter anyway.
And even there is a bonuses of ETH I think it will be unavoidable to have a doubt about it for the individuals, isn't it right?
But I will try to check them out.

we will never know if they are really doing any research before advertising. we will understand this when one of the projects that they advertise turns out to be a scam
That is just it. No one can tell and CZ will not disclose if they do research or not. Even if he does that, that should not stop us from doing our own research too. Just like you should not just buy from a project because it is listed on Biannace launchpad, so also should you not just accept any ad hook line and sinker, just because CZ and his team now control coinmarketcap.

These ads are what makes CoinMarketCap profitable and this is what made Binance buy the site. The ads were there before that Binance bought it and I think they do not  doing any research before accepting the ads.
There have been a lot of advertisements for new coins projects and later turned out to be a scam, the biggest example of which is BitConnect coin that made big publicity in CoinMarket and then turned out to be a scam project.

Im also seen ads on coinmarketcap, sometime about good project, also sometimes about ponzi, and i think that's not from them. Even if the ads from them, before doing some investment we should research first, right?? So i think even from legitimate website, we can't just believe that
Probably if you see ads of ponzi/HYIP project it was coming from Google AdSense, since many this kind of ads shown lately on AdSense.
And coinmarketcap can't control what's the kind of ads showing by Adsense,

Yeah, that's right. No matters the ads come from we should do our own research first before doing investment or use third-parties services to minimize the risk.

Those ads listed over there might be take you to various sources like a gambling site, ponzi scheme, genuine earning potential or a possible scam as coinmarketcap don't have to possibly do any research or checks as thy get paid for listing adverts and it's our responsibility to investigate before getting into it and after all ad space is a source of earning for the site.

They should be because binance team are in charge of coinmarketcap right now, I'm sure they won't want to put up a fake project banner when they know that it can help attract investors to the project but I'm certain they arent doing it for free

They can impose their policies because majority already knows that Binance is the owner of Coinmarketcap now if coinmarketcap losses it's reputation, it will have an impact also on Binance, they should do screening on this or they should have a disclaimer and people should see that disclaimer prominently on the Coinmarketcap page.
I agree with you, coinmarketcap should do the appropriate ad filtering there because if you do that the reputation of coinmarketcap will be better and could have an impact on binance

most gambling site have that double/extra deposit bonus, so i'd say it's probably real with some strict requirements most of the time. that being said, most promo are like that. the ads won't tell you the whole picture and just told you the best one.

treat all ads as scam, when you see something interesting, do more dd and don't trust anyone. including cz or binance or whoever it is.

Legitimate? Probably project that under on ICO stage we cant call any legitimacy because there will be the time that they will change and turn to scam. There's nothing wrong with CMC that accepts ads paid because that is a business, that's why they'd bought that site because it's shown the good result of traffic.

As long as they don't accept any businesses that have a potential feature of HYIP projects and they were fine. In the end, we users should manage our risk.

They run both AdSense and makes their own Ads as well. This is part of where the money for running the platform comes from. Aside the ads that comes from the AdSense, some other ads are from businesses such as gambling and so on. I don't think the newly acquired cmc will not research a project before advertising for them on the platform. If you check regularly you will see they have also stops some ads when it was acquired

Even before coinmarketcap changed hands their ads are not legitimate, or at least the majority of them. I don't think they are putting up a project or ICO only after a sort of a quality check or a screening process is done.

Now that it is owned by CZ, don't expect much change as far as ads are concerned. For as long as the ads are paying the right price they will definitely get juicy ads spots on that site.

My answers is no, the ads on Coinmarketcap are all paid ads, and as far as I know they have advertised for many scam projects. It seems that even though they are a reputable crypto site, they don't research much about that projects.

I noticed that some ads used to display on coinmarketcap and most times they are projects that are promising, sometimes I was forced to check the projects out since it's coinmarketcap we are talking about, I think the team will never advertise any bad projects on their platform and also it's same team from binance

Those ads are mostly displayed by third party ad agencies like adsense etc so coinmarketcap does not have any authority over that directly and to be honest i have seen ponzis and fake mining programs being promoted there and i agree that cmc should remove those ads as they are making people fall for these scams because people think it is on cmc so it would be legit.
Cmc should come up and only place filtered ads and place direct ads rather using third party services.

The answer is unknown, to find answer you can join coinmarketcap team for answer through their customers service center or other social media links, still I'd say it's better to do research on your own

I think as long as it's not illegal, they are allowed to advertise in CMC as long as they pay.

Just like in the forum, though some businesses has a bad reputation but they are still allowed to be advertise in the forum.

We are still the one who will decide for that, with proper research we will know the project, and not all project that are legit won't scam us, let's put that in our mind so we will know the risk.
yes it is not illegal , and coinmarketcap will display their ads in banner as long as pay ads fee to them. cmc team will never check is it fake project or legit project for cryptocurrency investors. our own decision will be make us trapped in fake project or not, today we could not make sure if projects courage to set ads in cmc were bonafide or qualified projects.

I'm certain its all about the money, projects can use coinmarketcap to create awareness faster than using any other means, we know how popular coinmarketcap is to crypto space isn't it? I doubt if binance team will care about reputation on this

Some will be legit and some won't, you still have to do research before investing, any team or even scammers can afford to put a banner on coinmarketcap, not that costly as listing on small exchanges but be careful

few years ago when bitcoin and cryptocurrency price not dumped yet, some people believe projects that have ads in coinmarketcap will get success. there are many projects set their ads in facebook and coinmarketcap and they get good result. but today , we should not believe on it again , we must research to find this project have good future or not.

It is just advertisements, so I still wouldn't trust it just because it is being shown in coinmarketcap.

We will see, but remember that CZ has investments millions of money here, so he will definitely accepts projects wanting to advertise on their platform. So there is still that risk, that they can't filter out scam projects and could advertisement them inadvertently. We still need to look at every project that you are going to invest.

Probably they are doing research. Plus if the company will pay ads I dont think they will refuse to accep those projects. Having Binance to manage coinmarketcap, they will require a strict requirements for their advertisement. Just like their IEO, they would not add any cheap or possible scam projects on their new acquired platform.

Years ago CMC have been called out by crypto community for showing ads that eventually turn out to be scam or blatantly scam in the beginning. But they refuse to take actions on it and I remember that there was even a call to boycott them.

However, since CZ has taken over, I don't see any chances though, it is better to always do your research and not just believed everything you see not just in CMC but all over the internet in relation to our crypto investments.

Are this ads custom or personal deal by coinmarketcap or ads from google advertisement service? If the later one, they have no control over the ads, no matter who is the owner now. Google ads are not monitored heavily, as a result advertisers can promote HYIP websites too since it falls in the same category in terms of advertising.

You are on your own if you think that all ads on coinmarketcap can be trusted, don't expect coinmarketcap team to do the job of verification for you, anyone can afford the banner payment on coinmarketcap, just be careful, even scammers can get their banners on there

No, not all of the ads that you can see there is legitimate so don't just trust any ads that popup in that website. Its paid ads and that how coinmarketcap earn from visitors of the website there is also legitimate but not all because CMC don't review any ads that you can see there.

Obviously cannot be. Please have a look at their disclaimer policies:

now Coinmarketcap is owned by CZ, do they research that project or only accept money without doing research?
They will do research on the projects they do IEO or direct listing into regular and DEX exchanges but definitely will skip that part of showing advertisements. Even Google do displays potential scam things because it is individual's responsibility to take care against scamming/hacking attempts.

But, Theymos will not entertain scammy things for advertising in this forum. I remember one gambling house was rejected just for the reason of shady behaviors.

If this is an explicit advertisement for a Ponzi scheme, then I think the site will refuse to place it. But most scams are detected after someone complains that they lost money there. Therefore, it is easier to write a disclaimer than to carefully study the project before posting it.

Coinmarketcap allows ads on their websites, there is nothing illegal about it, the project team pays coinmarketcap to get their projects displaying on the website with the hope that it attracts many investors since coinmarketcap is a big one in crypto space but still don't rely on any project, do research first and find yourself genuine reasons to invest in any project

Possible ETH bonuses with their deposit? Is it like the deposit bonuses in gambling sites? I think there's nothing wrong with that, though.

In this link, there's no indication with regards to screening or something. https://coinmarketcap.com/advertising/

I believe that in every advertisement, it's still getting analyzed first before allowing the ad on the website. In their call-to-action button, it's for "Contact Us," so you will get interviewed by customer service or someone in charge of advertisements for sure. For sure, they won't be allowing something distrustful or scam on their website, lol.

Publishers are not responsible for advertisers, they only pay to list their ad on a Coinmarketcap website. They do not pay for listing as a product/service on the website. They do not guarantee it, they do not sell it or resell it. The difference would be if Binance exchange list a scam IEO...  Wink

You can't invest on a project just because coinmarketcap is advertising them on their websites, I've seen those ads several times but haven't follow any projects displayed on the website, how is this safe anyway? It has nothing to do with the utility of the project, you need to do your own diggings

Know that those ads aren't for free, coinmarketcap is making money out of them so how can you use ads to confirm how serious a project is? Better do research instead, and one more thing is coinmarketcap rating is even wrong still, coingecko is way better right now
