I have been telling people to not gamble too much with ICO's and just enjoy the BTC profits because I knew sooner or later things would go south. I saw this article by anonymint aka iamnotback on this subject 2 days before the Chinese ban on ICOs.

Is the ICO model dead? will ICO's keep making millions no matter what?

I believe "ICO" has become a derogatory term in crypto. I wouldn't use this model to issue the coins, with or without government bans involved, "ICO" was a term that was turning into a joke a long time ago.

It's time to find better ways to issue cryptocurrency. Byteball luckily avoided the ICO model, but it's distribution method is most likely what is causing these dump cycles, so early adopters aren't benefiting from being early adopters. Hopefully the price starts growing eventually. It's sad to see a coin like Byteball so deep into coinmarketcap with a ton of shitcoins above it because it was not some overhyped ICO.

this makes a pomegranate, some successful tokens have passed the ICO first, although china has banned ICO and say ICO is illegal it only has a cyclical effect, let bitcoin be LEGEND and some devs create ICO for gambling, this schema same as a company throwing his business to the stock market.

I think that some ICOs also have good quality because they are used and traded ?, if ico is forbidden then let's look back 6 months ago, more than 100 K Bitcoin saved some devs. this is a way of damming bitcoin and making bitcoin high prices ,but reduced bitcoin circulation. now, many ICO and store some bitcoin because sell ICO , that can making high price also rising. there seems to be a new conclusion that bitcoins saveer VS devs ICO , how much value crypto will saved ? , if bitcoin storage sells bitcoin there is still a sales barrier from ICO storage, and this is naturally the deeds of those crypto lovers ?

why worry so much about China banning ICO, its Russia banning ICOs that you should be worrying since most of the dev team and the most used token for ICO today is ETH which the team are from Russia. the chinese can still join ICOs whether its being banned. are the government official going to seize every house of the individual involve in crypto?  i'm Chinese and i don't care about that.

I think there is a worry about ICO's because they are still a relativity new concept and they are unregulated. On top of the fact that China has just banned them.

But i do not think they will go down so easily. I do believe that the bubble will burst eventually, as more and more startups try this concept and the market becomes saturated.

Although I do believe that it will continue for at least another 6 months, there is so much revenue getting pumped into this ecosystem and that money will only create more altcoins and more alternatives to the big two.
