Some are already running it in other countries and it was being legally implemented. But, for other countries project like crypto gambling is not allowed and it is even forbidden. This is the difference between the governments because they had acted differently on every system that has been introduced like cryptocurrency system.

Asking whether bitcoin casinos are legal is like asking whether is cannabis legal or not. Well, it depends on the specific laws of your country. If your country requires licences for them to run and to comply with anti-money laundering and know your customer laws and they don't then they're probably not technically legal or allowed to operate in that jurisdiction. I would check your own countries laws and what they require for an online gambling business to operate because nobody can give you a concrete answer without knowing where you reside.
Bitcoin casinos are clear in most countries that it is illegal,  because in any way all forms of gambling have the potential for crime,  especially facilities for money laundering,  but even if there are countries that legalize bitcoin casinos, only a small portion of the countries in the world.

I was searching all over the internet and could not find the answer.

Are crypto casinos legal ?

Do they need a license ?

Are US and China citizens allowed to play in that casinos ?

I'm talking about casinos that accept only cryptocurrencies. (No fiat money)

all forms of gambling in my country are illegal, so crypto casinos are clearly illegal,  but different things can happen in countries that legalize gambling,  but all types of gambling have the potential for crime,  such as fraud and other forms of crime,  we better avoid everything that  potentially harming us.

Cypto casino is legal, in every crypto casino there are terms and conditions that govern it and its players, and before you place any bets you have to first ensure that you have read and agreed with the terms and conditions. With these terms and conditions in place, it makes crypto gambling very legal and there is no reason to doubt it.
Do they need a license? Yes of course, the rules are not just limited, but extending to much bigger jurisdictions, yet, having a licensed casino has undeniable advantages, just like the benefits of proceeding transaction by banks. Hope this info help you out.

While online casinos continue to be increasingly popular activities throughout the world, there are still many countries where it is illegal to play online casino. Do you use cryptocurrency like bitcoin as the standard currency, the fact remains that it is still illegal in these countries.

Because of this, bitcoin casinos are only legal in countries where online gambling is legal. So it is important to ensure that you only play Bitcoin casinos from locations that allow you to do so by law.

It depends on the countries. Countries those have accepted crypto currencies, do not have or impose any issues on playing crypto casinos. But yes, citizens  who live in countries which have not yet accepted crypto currencies, are not allowed to play crypto casino legally until the country accepts crypto currencies. There are doors to play crypto casino without the knowledge of government. For examples; We have hotels, clubs and etc who free their customers with casino games either it would be fiats' or crypto's.

Regulations differ across the countries.

Some countries may have policies that don't even recognise bitcoin as a legitimate currency, which means that operating a bitcoin casino may be completely lawful. But I think that in most countries there is a need for a license before you are able to lawfully operate a casino, and with bitcoin related regulations tightening, I'd suggest to be extremely careful if you want to launch a bitcoin casino to avoid legal troubles. See a law professional about it.

As a player, again, it's different across countries. Some countries can have restrictions on online gambling activities even if it's bitcoin. Usually, you're able to search the relevant laws on google or even in the T&Cs of the gambling site. That's why you see the checkbox saying that "by signing up, you agree that gambling is legal in your jurisdiction".

A crypto casino or and ordinary casino would be illegal if the law of the country where you play prohibits it. Whether you use cryptocurrency or fiat money for betting is not the essential element for it to be illegal, what important is that, the law of the country where you played casino prohibits the playing of casiono.

I think for any business to be classified as legitimate, a business license is required. The business must be registered and given an accreditation in order to perform at its outmost best. Casino is a not an exception. Whether with bitcoins or not, one must be aware  that gambling is a risky game and you can end up losing huge sums of money. If bitcoin is involved, and the casino is a registered one, then it is very legal.

Some portals limit their services to players who live in certain countries. United States gambling in any of its manifestations is strictly prohibited. How to bypass such a ban? To find this game portal, which was in the country where it is allowed and gambling, and bitcoin use. Casinos in Macau exist in a completely different legal climate than gambling houses in Las Vegas, London or Monaco. China has strict laws prohibiting citizens from exporting cash from the country.

Honestly depends on whether online casinos are allowed in a certain country or not. Some countries have licensing requirements as well, while others have more of a grey area when it comes to activity such as this since crypto may not be recognized as real money in their country.

There isn't really any sort of repercussion even if you do play at a casino that is unlicensed in your country, but it's definitely risky and the casino itself will be the primary target of any legal pursuit by the regulators.

If you're thinking of opening a crypto casino then you better do some research and consult a lawyer about potentially obtaining a license. If you're just playing, then I'd suggest picking the most trustworthy one instead of the "most licensed" one.
On bolded part, same preference i would say and being licensed doesnt mean you are already excluded on potential problems and it doesnt mean they are trustworthy but somehow a licensed gambling site would give you some assurance that you can still possibly able to make actions when you do experience problems towards them or anything goes wrong compared to those casinos or gambling sites that are still on grey area.
For you as a gambler, legal or not always be prepared on unexpected circumstances.

As what they say above it depends on which country you are if in your country using crypto is not legal then yes, you can play gambling without any worries about your government. Licensing in gambling is very important in your local country that's a part of the requirements before you can create a gambling site.
Luckily here our country we have a free decision regarding our bitcoin hold, besides they are now not taking any implementation in bitcoin or other cryptos, how much more in gambling.

Are crypto casinos legal ?

Depends on country you are in. Some countries prohibits online casinos and even casinos are illegal and some countries are allowing it. You should go search that on google and check what countries are allowing casinos that are accepting Bitcoin. If you have a problems regarding to gambling in your country, if they government is against casinos, you can still bypass it and you won't get traced by using VPN. Some gamblers doing it.

Quote
Do they need a license ?

Of course, they will be labelled as illegal when they don't show any licence or permit to operate. They will seized by the government if they don't show any licence and maybe imprisonment depends on bad it is.

I don't think US are against this type of casinos. But it still depends on casino. Crypto still legal on US. So i guess it safe to play there. Actually, many casinos there especially Nevada. Some casinos there are accepting crypto. Im not sure about China. China is now a hostile country when it comes to crypto. I don't think there's any casino accepting crypto. China is cracking down all crypto related business. So i think it's illegal there.

Casinos and online gambling are legal in many countries. And talking about bitcoin casinos, they are also operative in many countries. And those countries need to have complied with the licensing requirements in order to run the casinos. But that depends on the law of your country where you reside in and what is their modus operandi regarding the operation of casinos.

I'd rather suggest you to go through this article:

I think it depends on the government that responds to everything related to crypto, if it's legal... everything related to crypto will be legal except negative actions like harming the others people. Well most of it basically states that it's illegal, because anyway crypto is still in the midst of a decision between it accepted or opposed, moreover associated with gambling, for a country that hasn't legalized crypto... of course it's illegal, no chance to permission. But so far, I think crypto gambling/bitcoin casinos... it's more crowded in cyberspace till now, it could be an illegal thing but legalized by certain peoples wherever their live.

In country if you are playing gambling without a permit you will be in jail if they saw caught on act because it is illegal but in this case I think bitcoin casinos are illegal or it depends on where country are you from?
Your location is important for us to know if online gambling site is illegal in your place. Well, if its illegal better to do trading which is more traditional and you can really earn a lot over time. Gambling is risky, and if there is a law about it on your place, you've better to stop looking for that and save yourself from that greed.

The internet I have come to agree that it does not have all the answers or say the section of the internet we have access to does not have all the answers. When it comes to the legality of crypto denominated gambling, I think a visit to the gambling section of the forum would provide answers and focus should only be on those sites that have been in existence for long and are big enough to have legal troubles and how they deal with it.  There is equally a thread on the economic of gambling on a country but with more pressing, he could give a report on crypto specific. I know some obtains license from some countries which gives them the legality to operate. For US and China citizens, they are restricted to participate in ICOs, the same reason why they are also not allowed to participate on crypto gambling sites.

Can it then be said that so long as the presence and operation of casinos in a country is legal = crypto casinos are also legal? If the use of crypto is immaterial to the legality of a casino, then the legality of casinos itself in the country should be looked into. It’s likely that if there’s a ban of crypto in the country, then putting up a casino which operates on crypto will be illegal as well.

That should generally be the case unless there are crypto-specific regulations in place. For example, gambling may be legal in some countries where Bitcoin is illegal, so Bitcoin casinos themselves are going to be illegal. There may also be some countries whose gambling laws revolve around bets themselves, so their legality would hinge on that.

The reverse is just much safer to assume: that if casinos are illegal, Bitcoin casinos are also illegal.

I'd like to note that a casino operating in Bitcoin rather than fiat likely has little to do with the matter. US gambling laws, for one, revolve around gambling itself, not the USD you gamble with.

But yeah there are conflicting views on the internet regarding online gambling in the US, but it seems like most of the confusion arise from online casinos themselves operating, not residents betting on them. If you want to set up your own casino, it's best to consult with an actual lawyer because of strict US rules. If you just want to play, you should be free to do so without any legal repercussions.

Gambling is outright illegal in mainland China and I would think that Bitcoin casinos fall under that.

the legal side of bitcoin gambling can be on your side. In certain situations bitcoin gambling sites are completely legitimate to operate and participate.
Yeah, it's clearly hilariousetc said that we could not build concrete answer if we don't know where you are residing at.
So, if in your place bitcoin is legal then yes you can operate gambling site and have licensed to operate.
Some countries not having a law regarding cryptocurrency so they are free to used bitcoin and casino site mostly they used digital money or bitcoin as betting money because it is convenience to used like paper money.

What you have to consider pivotally is whether bitcoin itself is legal in the jurisdiction you are leaving. If it is legal, then the next point you also check is whether casinos are allowed operation too because so many countries like the Muslim countries are not really into it. So the legality is not only about the casino but the means of financial payment.

I think there is no such thing as Bitcoin Casino, but I guess there are casinos that accept Bitcoin and other cryptos as payment if the country where they're located allows the use of bitcoin in any transactions meaning bitcoin status is legal.
Yeah, and there are Bitcoin casino's too in online gambling and from the name of it, they do accepts Bitcoin as payment.
But the legality of Bitcoin casino depends on every country's regulation and of course they do need some licenses to operate.
Though Bitcoin and Fiat currency are needed in any online casino.

Crypto casinos legal? Yes, for those businesses that do have licenses and for those who havent then you do know the answer. For me they do need license because as a player this would somehow gives us the confidence to trust up the site incase if there are any problems towards the site. Country restriction would always vary on sites decision on what laws are they following to.

You can go directly to the top cryptocurrency online gambling site and read the details about it, if you can gamble on that site then I see no problem at all. Some gambling site may not be suitable to you for some reason or maybe because of yout nationality, gambling site is legal as long as they operate in a country and their business is registered.

All citizens can play in the casino. Even if the country is forbidden to gamble, anyone can use a vpn to access any site. In order to determine the loyalty of the legislation you need to see in which countries the existing casinos are registered and learn from the licensing and taxation terms.

Here some information that maybe help.
If you live in Luxembourg, there are some restrictions:
Luxembourg has an outright ban on slot machines, but gaming machines are permitted at the sole licensed casino and account for a vast majority of its revenues.
A regulation for online gambling is also under discussion, but there is no substantial progress since this issue was mentioned in 2012.
REGULATED CASINO GAMES
Terrestrial:Slot machines and semi automatic games, roulette, blackjack, craps, punto banco, stud poker, trente-et-quarante, Hold’em poker, Ultimate Texas hold’em poker, la Bataille, Texas hold’em poker and Omaha poker 4 high.
Online:Only lottery games are available as nationally regulated products.
There are no legal online gambling offers in Luxembourg (except a limited offer of the Loterie Nationale with a maximum bet threshold per week of €250)

The legality issue will depend on which country that the gambling operation will take place. There are lot of issues before a legal Bitcoin gambling operation will be establish like if Bitcoin and gambling operation are legal in a certain country. If all are legal then gambling owners should request operation permit to their government so that they could legally to operate a online casino or any Bitcoin gambling operations that they desire. Some gambling operations are legal some are not so it will be the players call if they will check the legality of the operations before playing.

Are crypto casinos legal ?
Yes and no.

Yes if their country allows online crypto casino's to operate.

No if their country prohibits this type of business operation and service.

Do they need a license ?
Software licenses is a must but if you're asking about local permits, yes they do depending again on the country they reside. Some country's doesn't need for this license as if they don't care about online crypto casinos.

Are US and China citizens allowed to play in that casinos ?

Short answer is yes. They are basically licensed most commonly under the carribean island of Cuaracao which gives easy licenses on online gambling casinos . The license is usually located below their website and is near a badge. With a licensed gambling site they can literally and legally offer their casino to every country who isn't prohibiting foreign licensed casinos. Also some gamblings casinos are locking ip addresses of countries that don't allow their services they are prohibiting players from that country to play so you don't have to worry if you are a canadian or amserican as chances are you can't even create an account in their website if your country is prohibited.

Are US and China citizens allowed to play in that casinos ?

I'm talking about casinos that accept only cryptocurrencies. (No fiat money)

you searched over the internet, but there are many topics on this forum regarding this question
I remember answering in one of them, let me dig it for you
if I don't find it to edit the post later, here is the breaf summary:
most of the casinos are licensed in Curacao, some are licensed in Costa Rica and Malte (substancially more expensive and more regulated)
US citizens are not allowed to deposit in many of the online casinos (Stake,Primedice spring to mind immediately)
chinese citizens are not allowed to gamble online by their own law,but I have yet to see a casino that bans chinese gamblers

There are casinos that can work legally.  At the expense of rates by crypto currency.  I read that it is necessary to register in the offshore zone.  And at the expense of US citizens there was a restriction in participation.

A lot of crypto casinos are legal and registered entity. They run by a proper legal entity name and licensed to their originating country.

However, it depends on the lecal law to determine if a person from a certain nationality can play crypto casinos or not. Usually online casinos are open to the world, but the player needs to identify their own legal clearences.

In many countries Casinos need territorial licenses to operate, not generic licenses but specific one for the country where they want to operate. In addition to this fact, it is forbidden for people in some countries to play on casinos that have a generic and non-specific license. So for the logic if everything is in order with regard to territorial licenses and the casino accepts as a payment method the crypto I do not see why it is not legal.
Obviously it must be legal to use the crypto coins (with provbably new licences) in both for the countries, where the customer is and where the casino is located.
