I got 9 usb miners... running at 1.7 ghs each and 1 gridseed 5 chip running at 350KHS

I use the 9x1.7 ghs to mine sometimes on cex.io and once I get enough to buy say 0.5 ghs I buy it and then list that on ebay...

I also use the ghs to mine new coins.. and got lucky with some that were 1 sats on the exchanges.. and they went up to 30sats.. I mined like 500k of them and got a good return from that...

Invested that btc in to Vericoin... and also some other coins...

I use the 350 khs miner the same way find new coins and mine it for a week or so and flip on exchanges for other coins I think will go up in value..

It has done well for me.... I am going to re-invest in to a Zeusminer The Blizzard model for like $110 and also going to get 2 of the Rockminers... for like $70 each...

So going to spend $300 and increase my mining power some what... nothing to write home about .. but good for something I started with a $30 investment 6 months ago...

and now I am sitting on 1000 Vericoins.. and still have a few 1000 coins in other wallets.. that I will hold on to..

I also did play the exchanges a bit ... buy low and then sell high... made some there to..

Also from the cex.io ghs I sold on ebay I bought other mining contracts with for other new coins.. worked well

Are buying 3x USB Bitcoin Block Erupter ASIC Miner 330MH/s worth it?

I seen these on ebay and I was just wondering if they would be worth it to mine and I was just wondering if I were to mine at least 10hours a day for a month, how much btc do you think I'll make? Just a brief estimate would be nice or just a realistic opinion about buying 3 for $15 each
So I'm curious.  Did you ever end up picking up those 3 block eruptors?  And if so how's your profitability doing?

$25 to go and another 5838 years..

I have 3 antminers USB running only when my computer is on, if they can produce even a cent its there and hashing!!!

They are using extra electricity (albeit, not very much) so they are likely costing you money.

Buying one of these would be reasonable for solo mining on your laptop while your working in hopes of solving a 25 BTC block. The odds are against you, but the possibility is there. And for only $20 it's not too expensive. You won't make enough at a pool to be able to withdraw very often as the minimum is .01 btc usually.

It would make more sense to go buy a couple of lottery tickets instead.  That way you know right away that you lost instead of having to wait.

It is cheaper to buy gh at cex.io than it is per usb. I had 3 usb block erupters before, silly mistake. Atleast you asked first, saved yourself a loss Smiley

with all the fees on cex now a usb miner gains you more than twice the ghs on cex, so if you mine at a pps (not ppns at cex) you can expect even more btc

It seems to me the standard reply on can I make a profit with block erupters has been no since they became available.  I'm glad I didn't listen to any of the naysayers.

Fan boyism seems to be a problem around here.

It will make profit if you mine altcoins, check their charts and marketcap do your math and see if it's worth it, for example one of those altcoins named sexcoin has a 1500% increase in the last 24 hours, that tells me you would make profit.

Not at all; you can only mine SHA-256 coins which are at most 30% more profitable than BTC.

I bought a few of these a while back for just about that price there. They have made well over their value back. I dont mine btc, but instead peercoin which is one of the many alternative coins like litecoin. 2 of the suckers to date have mined about 7 peercoins. Now each ppc is worth $3.11 as of this writing. I did sell a few at $6.50 last week, 6 to be exact. That puts me at my break even point. Now even if I mined btc, I would have made about an extra $1 or so on what I did.

In terms of, did I make profit? Yes. Is it worth it to me? Yes. But its how you do it that matters.

Mining BTC would not be worth much,  but you could always mine a alt coin.  some you can exchange for BTC  and you never know you may get lucky and make your money back.   I have mined quite a few alt coins.  I keep them in my wallet ,  maybe one day they will be worth something.  and if they are not,  i didn't waste to much time or effort on them  to show a loss.

I would never discourage anyone from buying a miner.  big or small.  In reality, the more people who get into BTC the sooner it will be more widely used around the world.

And about cex.io,  the day you can point your leased GH/s  to any pool or coin you choose,  will be the only time I would consider it.  All the spam about it on the forum  just so you guys can get paid for your signature is ridiculous.  I hate spam in my email box,  and your posts remind me of emails about Viagra.  Stop spamming already.  Post something with content and Im sure people would use your referral link more  then spamming it in every thread.

if you find a good pool you will get your money back within a year. its all down to luck but with bitcoin price sky rocketing its worth the gamble. you could always mine alt coins like PPC or terracoin

You will get around 0.00064323 BTC per day for the first week. But soon it will decrease to less than 0.0005 BTC per day. And then 0.0004 after another 11 days. So basically you will get 0.0015 BTC in your first month, and less than 0.00075 BTC in next month. If you leave it running forever, you may expect in total less than 0.01 BTC being mined. (Assuming electricity is free and the Erupter can be used for years). Meanwhile, you can buy 0.07 BTC with your $15 at any exchange or coinbase now.

theres a few mining calclators if you google them
you wont make much and be lucky to break even. that said no one knows the life span of these devices and its going to be along long time before they use cost more in power than they mine
at a guess 3 would mine about 0.001 a day on bitminter
if you want to start mining on a budget or fun there a great start. you might also want to look at a block erupter blade at 200$ doing 10gh or a bitfury red/blue usb stick doing 2.7 for 120$
