They promote themselves as audit-able.
Does that mean the users have no privacy of use (not able to use anonymously)?
Is that the reason governments like moscow and singapore favouring ethereum?

All the currencies which use blockchain technology much as they claim they are anonymous , they are easily be traced and be auited.

No, however ethereum is on the line of implementing zksnarks on top their platform so there's that. When you're looking for privacy projects you have monero, zcash and others.

It haa privacy unless and until no one knows who owns a particular ether address. Let's say you have 100 ether but you haven't shared with anyone the address where it is stored so no one can know but if someone found out it is your address you basically can't do much transferring to exchanges will show the exchange name and mixing won't help because there is no perfect ether mixing site

Neither coin is truly anonymous - as in untraceable. If you are looking for a coin with that attribute it pretty much comes down to Monero (XMR) which greatly improved its privacy with the introduction of RingCT.
