Almost all old and new crypto exchanges now have apps available for their users, as for the good opportunities I don't think that's always the case, from my own past experience they are always a rip off, this so called opportunity is best for whales not for those with few hundreds of dollars to trade.

Some people might be lucky and get a different result from mine but I have tried my luck several times on even popular crypto exchanges and I have never feel lucky for once, in my own world it seems nothing comes easily unless you give out something first.

If anything or anyone promise you something better its probably a scam, be careful out here, its a wild west world.

I decided to take a break from degen and alt trading, but I still don’t want to pass the days without anything at hand. Recently, I’ve been seeing events on Twitter with captivating captions, but I doubt their legitimacy. While double-checking some, I saw one that includes downloading an exchange app to qualify for rewards, but I’m a little skeptical about going for it. What do you think of such events? Am I wasting my time, or could it be worth something?
I have also seen such promotion in social media which requires downloading the app of an exchange as part of the requirements to qualify for reward. It is the way the exchange expand their user base if it is the exchange running the promotion directly or another way individuals earn from the referral program of the exchange when you sign up in their exchange using their unique referral link. Most of the times, the effort put into this and the reward that comes with it do not correspond thereby making it a waste of time. But as it does not involve putting money into it but time and energy, I think it is not bad after all. But care must be taken because scammers or phishing attempt can be planned through these methods.

If there's downloading of some application involve then provably the people who participate should be careful regarding on the apps they are downloading since they might downloads those risky apps which have malwares inside that possibly can compromise them.

But if they are transparent and they just made those method just to promote their exchange then I think its fine since  by that we may have some assurance that everything is fine. The only question if people who participate could able to earn. That's why if they can spend time to participate then can accept the fact that there's a chance that they can earn also there are times doesn't then everything is good since somehow that is the life of airdrop hunters which everything they participate doesn't have any assurance to earn.

If the reward is too good to be true, then it is a scam. I'd not take my chance with any new exchange, the reward would most probably entail that you deposit and trade or maybe even stake your coins with them, in doing any of these, you can lose your assets, because they would be the ones in control once you deposit, and if it is a scam, then your asset is gone.

Look for opportunities elsewhere, there are quite a lot of them in the crypto industry and you just have to equip yourself with the necessary skill and know where exactly to look.

Op is supposed to mention the name of the exchange or probably a url Link. But from my experience, with events like these, they're requirements. If you meet the criteria, they're often rewarding.

The OP don't even have to mention the links or name of the exchange to get valuables advice from members of the forum. There could be authentic ones but many of malicious ones that will steal your crypto. Back in the days, this marketing technique was very popular and they rewarded participants very well but things have changed. Don't download apps just because you're been asked to and you think there's no harm since they're free to download. There are many apps that have permission to do you harm but you're not aware because we are ignorant. Airdrops/giveaways hunters are some of the most careless people that I have seen and the always regret their carelessness eventually.

OP, make use of your free time very effectively, go get a job or do some online courses that can give you search after skills to earn you a living. Don't use that free time to download apps that you might regret later. For you to think about this, it should obviously mean you don't have enough money so why not use that free time to make yourself qualified just incase an opportunity comes knocking in the future.

firstly make sure you go to their official website regarding their bounty or events that give rewards, mostly on the social site are just for referrals, also there is only a slight chance for you to win, but if its a legit post from the exchange then its worth a try, like what i said head to their official account, so that you will not waste you're time doing task, and also for security purpose since there are lots of hacking going on, a single click will wipe you're funds and might also stole you're identity.

Task with rewards can involve anything, it can come with any rules. Some of this testers don't have money to pay paid testers and because they are crypto base things, some of these paid platforms don't want to accept them or it could be that the company doesn't have the money to pay that's why they look for alternative for people who are ready to do task and get rewarded, just like the way telegram mini app that want people to do task and get paid through aidrops.

However, be careful of anything that you download into your phone. These guys ask people for wallet tracking and data collection and because they are ignorant about data protection, they don't care to even check these things, they don't understand how to even protect their privacy from the internet. I hope you put this into consideration.

You have not mentioned any exchange name or URL here so no one can give you an accurate information or advice. But as far as I know almost all types of exchanges give some bonus to their new users but they are not cash vouchers they are spot/futures trading fee, and Bitget gave $50 voucher to their new users but it was future trading voucher and there they are wagering kept  With that $50, those who were able to make a profit by futures trading  were only able to withdraw the profit. So I think doing them is just a waste of time.

Catalog Websites
Mostly cryptocurrency exchanges offer giveaways on social media that sound too good to be true. It is tempting to join in but you probably won't win. Also Twitter has a problem with fake accounts that look like real exchanges. Scammers create these accounts to trick people. Be careful and check if an account is real before interacting with it. Don't fall for promises of easy wins prioritize safety and research before engaging with any account. And one more thing which is important that is many scammers has made the same url's with a little spell mistake this looks like a real website but it is not so you should always double check the URL so if it okay so you can work on it. Otherwise you should not involve in them.

That is one of their tricks to attract more users to the exchange and most time they will always ask you a deposit and trade sometime for you to be eligible for s reward. Most of those captions many exchanges are using yo advertise their product is a way to lure ignorant users to come and give their exchange a test. You will have to be very careful so you don't end downloading the wrong exchange app that would cause you a severe loses because not all exchanges that is advertised are really worth our time and interest. It is good one try to check for review before ever downloading anyone of them.

Those kind of events are very common especially on Twitter were you would be ask to do some certain things to get something return and at the end it becomes a waste of time, though I may not know the legitimacy of the particular one you are talking about but however sometimes some projects or a platform could be looking for a way to create awareness about there platform or app so they would just present it a kind of way it will look like a giveaway after performing the task of downloading the app and at the end you may not even know the people that won the context, though is quite unfortunate that whenever event involves downloading of any exchange app most people always believe it to be real without knowing that most events use that method to attract people, though like I already mentioned I may not know the legitimacy of that particular event because I'm only saying based on people complaints about those kind of similar event.

It's very common to see both new and some old reputable exchanges running a contest in the name of giveaway in their social media platforms with such conditions but the truth is that you are likely not to win. I am not trying to discourage you from participating but the chance of you winning is very meager.

Moreover, you have to be very careful with some of the Twitter handle you engage with because there is no social media with impersonating features like Twitter. Since the blue tick is now being acquired with money, a lot of exchanges are being impersonated with a parody handle who are aiming to scam people.

They could be legitimate but some of them has their criteria which you must fulfill to get qualified such as pass kyc, deposit amount worth x dollars to get qualified to share the amount set for the promotion. Some could be trading competition Maybe if you reached the required trading amount then you get selected for the payout, I could remembered then when I was involved with altcoin trading I received some extra coin for trading upton required amount of their tokens needed.

Op is supposed to mention the name of the exchange or probably a url Link. But from my experience, with events like these, they're requirements. If you meet the criteria, they're often rewarding. I'm even looking at one, but I'm not in the accepted region ATM.. it's for South Asians and if op is from there. He can check it out.

Actually some exchange do give incentives to their new customers. Some believe that by doing so they stand a chance of gaining some new customers that will be loyal and trading on their platform. This is mostly common with new exchanges that hasn't gotten enough customers base. Although most of them will require you do some certain level of activities, like trading in their platform to fully redeem the rewards. But before you register with such exchanges, check their rating and feedbacks from their existing customers to know if their services are okay.

There are sort of airdrops that requires you to do small task before you qualify then get a share. But make sure they didn't ask something from you like KYC,investment or ask your private key since this is really dangerous since most likely that project you are pointing out is just a scam. But if they didn't ask anything and their airdrop is for free then its good to try who knows you can earn some bucks with their project. Also airdrops is famous nowadays and lots of people participating in this activities.

Its normal to waste some time on those program since everything is unsure in crypto. But if you could able to spend time to participate then join and seek more opportunity as many as you can since who knows maybe there are good projects will give us a good rewards.

You should be vertical careful with such enticing offers, most of them are likely scams. Any offer that sounds too enticing or too good to be true are definitely scam, new projects are prone to offering too much to draw the attention of users or investors and scammers use the opportunity to imitate them and offer people rewards to lure them so you should be careful and carryout a research about them. There are a lot of fakers in the industry you should at least share a name with us and probably site url so  people can look it up for you.
Never be in a hurry to verify to authenticity of such things, it may be worth it and may be a scam so just be careful everything is possible in the crypto world.

It's too hard to give a rating on the event you're referring to if you don't mention what exchange it is or at least you can provide a little link to go there so people here can do further check to give their specific rating. But instead of sending a link here because lately there are still many phishing links made by fraudsters, it's better if you directly mention what exchange it is and what the event details are like so that there is a little enlightenment for you. Although you may also be okay if you want to ignore it and not waste your time on an event that you are not sure about.

There you go, the magic words. You don't have to go for it when you're already doubting it and you're skeptical about the procedure they're giving you. Requiring you to download their app is what I am also seeing in these giveaways but I don't want to do these things if I don't have an extra device to download their apps. But let me tell you this, we've got our guts and when it tells us that we're doubting it, that's already a sign that you shouldn't continue. I'm not sure if others are like that, when they're in doubt, they stop and just let it slide and will completely ignore and move on not unless you're really into it and you're encouraged. If that's giving you the type of feeling, you return to those words you've mentioned.

We can't help you that much if you can't provide the link and the name of the app exchange to see if it's legit app. Not everything you can or you may download is safe so that's the other thing that a person should consider before doing it. We can only say that you should investigate everything about it and that's all unless you finally share the link and the name of the app. Honestly, most of it are clickbait in order to attract more people and if it's a possible scam then they did quite put an attractive reward.

IMHO, you have to assess the risk that it has by looking at the terms but even if there's a written term, what you have to think of is about taking the risk of downloading something to your device.

If you want to take care of yourself, you are going to avoid such requirements that will want you to download their app. It's either they have some malware on it or, you'd get a bunch of adware/spyware after downloading it.

So, upon assessing, do you really think that the points or reward they'll give you is worth trying with that type of risk because for me, it's not.

Do you think these Rewards come for free?  They are selling something about you for it or they are trying to attract you to their Platform.  As they say, if something is offered for free then you are the Product.

I would not spend my time and sell my information for their little Rewards.  If you think about it, there are so many other things you can do that earn you so much more and better than that.  And with that money, you can buy Bitcoin.  I do not know which examples I can give.  Mowing the lawn of your neighbor even.  Pet sitting.  Or what ever.  Anyway.  This is a principle of mine.  I do not sell myself for a few Bucks.

Shouldn't it be good to mention that exchanger name what you are talking? Because it depends on where you are going to spend your time because some of them are legit and most of them will be your waste of time.

Now let me tell you the legits First Binance, Kucoin, Bybit. I have joined some of event on Binance like the Laucnpool pad and mega drops and I have gained some good profit on those, and I have heard some of my local mates that they also gain profit on the Kucoin and Bybit by joining their events.

While most of them are fake and clickbait and a way to get more traffic to their site and app, some are genuine but I doubt they give out that money for signing up alone.
Some exchanges have referral bonuses, deposit bonuses and sign-up bonuses, but all these are not withdrawable most of the time. They are used as coupons kind off. You can use them to pay network/gas fees. Bybit gives $20 or thereabout after verification in USTD but you can only use it from network or transfer fees.
I remember a friend of mine got about $50 in BTC few years back, he only got interested when that amount grew to $90 only for him to find out that its not withdrawable. So you have to be careful with wat you do when it comes to exchanges and be more sceptical of the ones that promise very large sums in bonus. I don't think any exchange will give you a sign up bonus of $200.

Degen and altcoin trading are profitable and are very risky, the risks involved is very high but the reward is big if you get the right channel of information in which most people do pay for that.
I would have prefer you invest in Bitcoin if you wants to take rest from degen and trading so that your capital will gain some profits before you decide to resume trading.

Twitter is a good channel to get information about any new updates on rewards been given out by any exchanges trying to introduce the exchange users to new system or airdrop some newly promoted coins to the users if they perform some special tasks.
Some of these are legit if it is in a reputable exchanges like Binance, KuCoin and others, but bring the link here let’s verify.

You just need to be careful with information you see online that requires you to use an exchange which can possibly be the one you normally use for your crypto transactions, however most of the rewards that are being promised can only be gotten after you have undergone too many tasks which some of the tasks are very complex and what most of them does is that from the beginning of the tasks they will bring up the ones that you can easily be able to do but they will keep on requesting for you to do more tasks and sometimes you can just get exhausted of performing a lot of tasks and decides not to go further anymore but their are also exchanges that actually gives those rewards after you must have fulfilled each steps of the tasks being assigned to you so some of them can be good opportunity while others can be a scam due to the complexity to fulfill those tasks in order to get the rewards.

Many fake accounts are impersonating popular exchange platforms, which also bear the blue verification mark and have thousands of fake followers. Also, these captivating captions and tempting rewards that they offered to new users might be a way to mislead and deceive them, prompting them to download a suspicious app that could lead to their devices being hacked or to register on the unknown exchange, only to be pushed into depositing money which then gets frozen and their accounts closed without the ability to withdraw their funds. So, beware of these free rewards and tempting offers on social media, and also, if CEX is not one of the top tiers in the market, ignore everything you see.

Even on the famous CEX platforms, their promotional events are not worth it.

The legitimacy of the event depends on the exchange it is being done. There are several events of such that are rewarding its users if they perform some tasks on their platforms, some of them even request some of their users to refer others for more reward, some of them do USDT, while some exchanges do use their platform to advertise new projects that will be listed in that same exchange.
Some of the exchanges do use their twitter and telegram handles to share the information to users that are not in their platform so as to use that a means of bringing them to the platform and also give them the reward if they are qualified to be given.

if the exchange is legit, it is okay to take advantage to gain profit even just by signing up an account by downloading the app.
but I am sure no simple exchange makes such an event for their new users. be careful to choosing an exchange, even popular exchange URL addresses can be faked to look similar to the real ones.
you should check the legitimacy of the exchange. if the exchange has just been published, you still have to be careful. some events from exchanges that are looking for new users are usually related to referral bonuses. that is the most common we see.

You have to check the reputation of the platform before downloading these exchange apps; anything that needs to be downloaded should be checked for the legality and cleanliness of the software; some software that you will download is bundled with unknown software, so check if there are complaints about the platform.
The rewards are not that worth it because these platforms are not going to pay you hundreds of dollars; you may end up risking your machines for rewards that are worth pennies.

Check whether the application has to be downloaded externally or not, if it has to be external then stay away from that application, if the download can be done internally on Playstore or Appstore, then you are safe. There is nothing wrong with events like that as long as they are safe for you, whether they are worth it or not depends on your point of view, but for me who is actively trading, it is just a waste of time.

Without additional detail, we can't be sure. But it's common that new exchange or exchange which recently release an app provide rewards to attract user. Take note that the rewards may be disappointing, especially if the reward is either reduced fee, unknown token/coin or very small amount of fiat.

Share more information so we can share more of it as well.
What's the name of the exchange app? What's the link to these tweets that you've seen on X? Are they asking money to you?

Whatever the case is, downloading an exchange app for getting rewards is an attractive way to get more downloads if you're the owner, but there are some scammers who are taking advantage on it as well. What do I think of such events? I don't browse X more often anymore, but I didn't see anything like that or maybe it just doesn't pop out on my "Wall". Are you wasting your time? It will depend on what you will do.

Sometimes, there are some things where you need to do something on that app in order to get rewarded. In this case, I would assume that in order for you to get rewarded, you need to make X amount of trades on that exchange. Whatever the case is, just beware and share more here so we can give a definitive answer.

You are taking risk.

Downloading anything on your device is risky. Installing it on your device is another risky step. Using that application on your device, doing some tasks to claim rewards, will be other risky practice.

If you are ok with risk, go ahead but make sure you know that risk can lead to your device compromise and fund can be stolen.

You did not made mentioned the name of this project neither the exchange you were asked to down. So I personally can not give my remarks or recommendations to that.

Perhaps... There are certain airdrop projects that requires participants to have a particular exchange wallet probably the token has not been listed for other trading exchange yet or alternative they requires a particular network to get participants rewarded in while you swap or exchange it yourself to your desired exchange.

But next, when you are making enquires like this, try to be specific in other to get benefited solutions.

No name or link to followup with what you are saying and the project in particular, so it will be difficult for anyone to share their genuine thoughts on this discussions, but since you mentioned that user need to download an exchange apps to qualify, that means that the coin belong to the Siad excahge and if that be the case, you should be be ready to get disappointed at anytime if it turns out that the exchange just want you to download and get registered on their platforms, between I hope that the exchange will not request you to make a deposit before you claim those rewards.

If at anytime you are asked to pay a particular fees to get the token out from the exchange, you should know by then that you are likely going to get scammed because I can't imagine a cryptocurrency exchange aking users to pay fees or download their apps to participate in coin bounty.

it is not uncommon for new projects to require people to download the app in order to be eligible for the rewards they offer but usually, I just avoid things like that, there is just too much risk for me to download apps from unknown or not well-known sources and I also think it is just a waste of time.

What is the name of the exchange? What is the name and the URL link of the app that the exchange ask you to download? Know that there are many fake exchanges. You need to be very careful with the ones that are promising high reward. They are likely scam.
