So i've just started out bitcoin and I'm trying to learn how its used and etc. I've been using faucets to get some satoshi, but it seems like an inefficient process. Is it worth the time put in to explore and earn? Thanks!
earliar there was sime better sites which were provided satoshi simply and minimum withdraw was less but at the current time to earn from faucet site is not so simple . it is totally a way to loss your time .
still my favorite faucet sites are freebitco.in & yobit.com ( also a exchange site ) .

i think sign campaign is more efficient, the rate for each post is depending about your rank, if you have highest rank you can earn more bits, and campaign paying usually higher rate than faucet. so for me faucets not worth the time

A number of well-paying faucets can be a good source of income in the long run as a part-time earning or for retired people. I have my own set of faucets list which are well paying and PTC sites. I also grab freebies from giveaways and from my signature campaign. All this I have mad 0.1 BTC in 2 months which is a lot in my local currency and hence I do not believe faucet are a waste of time if done in a proper manner.

You said faucets are good source of income, and after that you said you also grab free coins from giveaways and signature campaign, and with all that you had maid 0.1BTC in 2 months. Sounds like to much work 0.1BTC

Lets stick to original post, how many satoshi did you earn with only faucets without giveaways and signature campaigns? We are talking about faucets, are they worth of time, not are the faucets, giveaways and signature campaigns worth of time

0.08 from faucet,ptc
0.015 for three weeks from signature campaigns for not the current one it was an old one current one gives me 0.01/week
0.02 from primedice feedback contest giveaway

Now you are going to read this and say that I made it all up Tongue

Anyway faucets and all a part-time earning for me and as a part-time it seems pretty good. My main focus is my studies and work, I never compromise my time there.

Now they are waste of time maybe on some altcoin or something like that
Btc faucet just are not good enough they just give low
I also think it is a waste of time, even with altcoins I don't think it is worth spending the time and the efforts.

Well you had earned a great part of those with referals, i believe, but well faucet all together, that one paying i believe its possible to earn 200k daily, just choose those ones who pay instant, that ones that make you acummulate and with bit reward usually will turn into scam.

I think yes. But most not. Only some faucets are worth the time to go to. Though sometimes they are not available so long from attacks from bots. It is up to you to decide.

Now are just waste of time cuz average 1 hour is around 200 satishi that is low right now

with 50 claims you earn 1 tx fee Smiley
worthless

It is indeed worthless if they deduct tx fee from your payout.
That's why faucets set a threshold of your earnings.

maybe it's not if some alt coin faucet is used but for btc waste of time for now

If you have about 5 people or more to refer, it is a good way to get some easy money without doing much work. If you are a starter and you don't have anyone to refer, you are going to get a maximum of 1$ per 10 days (If you use one faucet). You can use more faucets but you will need like almost half a day off to make it and you are going to get paid maximum 5$ per week.

I recommend finding a well- paying faucet and refering some guys who are new to Bitcoin to the faucet you are earning on and they will basically work for you. You get the comission (if you are lucky you get up to 50%) for each friend you refered and you can claim sometimes. That will bring you around 20$ per 10 days if you refer 5-6 people on a well paying faucet.

the current price is very high, so it was really worth it. especially if you are smart enough to do in many sites faucet
I think if the price of bitcoin is increase faucet rate per claim will decreaes too they are just calculating it.. so its not worth it.. but if we are in 2014 and faucet per claim is 10k satoshi before its worth and you can sell it right now..

yeah i think so , thats the reason why faucets are decreasing their rewards per claim so it is not worth the time to use faucets at this time . and some of them doesn't  have adsense or maybe some owners are having a problem or banned from adsense .

yes it is difficult to faucet sites provide high reward, while they do not have income from their faucet sites.
only site that I know freebitco.in highest reward and also the site of the most unique, combined with a gambling game.
freebitco.in has been running for a long time and still exist.

I think faucet are good platform for newbies to earn little shre of bitcoins in form of satoshi. But Have to aware for use of only genuine faucets. Faucets with referral can give exponential growth profit to user. I have Build own bitcoin faucets rotator for me as well as few of mine friends check it http://get.bitgold.co.in

For me if you are new to bitcoin, claiming on faucets are worth it. Yes as of now faucets are giving low rewards because of higher bitcoin price but it would be a good starting/training ground to know bitcoin more. Faucet doesn't give you any risk, you just need to solve captcha and you will get satoshis, that's the advantage. Back in time I also started on faucets, and I look at it as my basis on how to earn more. I claim on faucets-save my earnings-if enough for small investment, I invest or trade. That's how I do it before. Just pick good paying faucets IMO. However, it would be better if you will seek for more opportunities aside from that.

Yeah I think it is. Everyone thought of it when they started with bitcoin.
For me that is the best thing to start with. You earn bitcoins from just solving captchas? Who hates that?
Yes, it takes a lot of time but for someone (like me) who have no good amount of money to deposit to my wallet, faucets were like my cute little dwarf helpers.  Smiley

yes i think when bitcoin prices rise, all faucet rate will adjust, in fact I think some of the signature campaign, will also conduct a rate reduction if prices continue to rise high.

Everyone here is saying faucets are not worth it and yes they all have a point because your time is valuable but you can make some good money with the faucet funds if you invest that money into Alts.

Buy cheap Alts and hopefully they increase and you'll 10x or sometimes if your lucky 100x your faucet funds.

I recently did this with DBIC and CAB and made a nice amount of money which was all from faucet earnings.

So in fact you can make money from faucets but by investing into Alts.

maybe it will worth the time for those who want to earn extra income from faucets and for those who are new to bitcoin it is the easy for the newbie to earn some bitcoin but yeah i agree that signature campaign is the good way for those who are tired of using faucets and much worth the time because it has more rewards  Grin Grin

They are ok for a newbie and a good way to get used at bitcoin, payments etc but you can't expect to earn a decent amount from the faucets unless you are from a third word country with very low wages or if you are able to get many referrals.

Even with the high prices we have at the moment i would have to disagree with you. you are still wasting time doing faucets to earn anything, the only usefull thing a faucet can do is give you a balance other thasn 0 in your wallet so you can practise sending and receiving bitcoin.

Do you even know what you are trying to say? Single faucet sucking is not worth the time, with very high BTC price current rewards from faucets is stupidly low.
Do you want to grind for 20 satoshi? You will be earning 1 dollar (or less!) per month at this rate!

Also there is nothing like 'main income from faucets' because 1 cent per day is insignificant money. Faucets are thing from the past. Stop using it.

I can say it's not an efficient way for you to earn bitcoin you just spend your time for nothing, why not you try other way to earn bitcoin like do small task, being translator.

It would be good to invest time in signature campaign rather then wasting time in faucets, returns from signature campaigns are far better in compare to faucets.

Well quoted faucets don't give you earning worth the time spent on it. Better is to enroll into a signature campaign and earn a reliable earning which is hard with other earning methods.

Yeah, indeed. faucets are helpful for you to get a grip on the idea of bitcoin, rather than an income source. Unless you have a faucet bot, which is by the way, not allowed and you'll get banned very quickly.

You can do tasks or surveys if you want real BTC rather than tiny dusts. Faucets are good for newbies, but not that good for earning.

Don't only relay on faucets because you can't earn an amount that is equal to your internet and electric bills. If you want to earn money fast you need at least member account here in bitcointalk to earn up to 0.0026 per day, i think it's a lot better than faucets because i think you cannot earn that amount per day if you just doing some faucets.

In my opinion the first intention for faucets was to make lots of bitcoin transactions to speed up the mining process. nothing good can come from faucets except if you are a newbie and still  not trusting to put any cash in bitcoin, so doing faucets would benefit you though remember
not to rely on them for any income.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I'll spend more time looking through the forums and learning up on Bitcoin. I'll  limit my faucets to the ones that give ~1500 satoshi once a day so I can have some to experiment/play around with. I'll look at the altcoin ones as well Smiley

Excellent - you can have fun trading with some alts that cost under 20 satoshis - choose ones with high volume/volatility and get a feel for trading. Or you could buy staking coins and play with staking them.

Watch out, though. It's addictive!  Cheesy

So i've just started out bitcoin and I'm trying to learn how its used and etc. I've been using faucets to get some satoshi, but it seems like an inefficient process. Is it worth the time put in to explore and earn? Thanks!

Absolutely! - faucets are about the most un-scammy thing you can find in the Crypto world!

You put in a wallet address
Maybe solve a captcha
Press a button

And you usually get paid!

What could be wrong with that?

You may research alt-crypto currencies and see if you can get more by using their faucets and then trading into BTC.

It's normal for a newbie to have a thinking of doing faucet as worth the time. Even me back in my newbie days also started first to make some bitcoin thru faucet claimings.

You will know the answer automatically once you keep on doing faucets everyday with lots of hours spend and noticed about your earnings receiving from doing such efforts.
Yeah your right i am also clamer before and excited for many faucet to claim but i learn a lot here in our forum its not worth it right now to earn..
And there's other way to earn even you are just a newbie.. altcoin is there and they are always giving a bounties easy task and earn altcoin..that you can sell it in trading site once they release it in market places.. if you are lucky that altcoin has potencial to growth in the future you can make more profit with your altcoin..

Faucet is like PTC. its a waste of time to stay in the faucet and try to earn something. I advice you to join here in a signature campaign or to offer your service into this forum, I'm sure that you'll earn BTC in really fast way.

For me its not worth it.. but if you have a knowledge to make a website and make your own rotator using your referral links and promote it in many ways you can make a passive income it can help you to earn with out doing nothing..

Not alone they are not worth it. Maybe you gamble the faucet money and hit it big for .01 or something but other than that it is a waste of time for micro pennies.

Id say dont bother, you might want to try it just so you have something in your wallet to play with but you would be easier just buying a dollars worth to play with, My fried had spent days on end on various faucets and in that time earned next to nothing.

For the first time, yes it looks like faucets are good but you will realize that it's really wasted your time and not worth it. Better don't do the faucets anymore.

If you are new to bitcoin, yes worth the time. With faucets you can learn more about bitcoin, how work bitcoin and how to make more bitcoin.

i doubt that its worth someones time even if the person is new to bitcoins because they would receive only dust amounts

actually i used to do faucets and i have never earned money out of it

No, faucets is a waste of time unless you just want a little money in bitcoins to start.
For a method that really make money, I advise you to invest some Bitcoins, solve captchas or simply register on a Bitcointalk signature campaign after rising in rank.

If you are trying to use faucets to make money, it isn't worth it. If you just want some Bitcoin to learn the process of sending Bitcoin and to experiment with it, then using faucets to get some Bitcoin is fine.
