Memecoins are going to continue to be a thing this year, and the reason is simple: investing in memecoins is comparable to some kind of gambling and there will be always people willing to gamble their money in order to get a bunch of money from other investors (who should have known better before buying at the very top of the price).
Let us not fool ourselves, most memecoins are and will continue to be useless and just an attempt of a few people to grab cash from others and then get flatlined by the market, though that won't mean this year the trend is going to end.

The worst part of memecoins markets though, is how influencers and internet personalities have taken advantage of their followers to get richer by promoting some shady memecoins or even their own memecoin, with their name tied to it. Hopefully, we won't see as many blatant cases like those.

Well I do think there will always be some hype for the new meme coins. I do think in crypto when a new coin does come out there is hype. And there will be investors that wants to make some big gains from new coins.
But I do not think for me we should want to invest in new meme coins. Now it is too easy for a project to pull a 'rug pull'. And the new meme coin can make you lose all of your profit. Doge is meme coin we need to invest in.

Not ending but too many meme coins were born when the trend was going on, most of them hunted and threw them away, so if you want to invest in it, you really have to sort it out very strictly because it has a high risk that the price could fall very deep
agreed, too much meme coin created in this bullrun alone, the capital needed to mantain current FDV of these new meme coin is big enough, i don't think it can be sustaining, moving forward, maybe there's lesser and lesser meme coin retaining its current FDV. the only way for meme coin to keep the hype is if the crypto market keep growing, but at least for now I see the meme coin hype fading a little bit but still pretty much there.

I won't say the hype is dead, meme can always become hype out of the blue for no absolute reason, that's the magic of meme but then again, after a big rally like what happened before with PNUT and so on, you'd expect right now meme coin entering phase of distribution for taking profit.

Meme coins can still offer opportunities but they're risky gamble. While some have developed ulitilies or ecosystems, many others are subject to unpredictable hype cycles that can lead to massive losses. It's important to approach meme coins w/ caution and consider the long term viability of each project. If you're looking to invest, make sure to do thorough research and asses the potential beyond the hype.

The meme hype will always exist and may not even die for the next few years or periods because after all even though in the end the risk of being in memecoin is always one of the problems that are never finished but the interest in memecoin and the utilization of momentum to follow in order to at least make it a temporary advantage will always exist and even many beginners are now focusing more on memecoin than on better coins such as potential altcoins or even bitcoin.

Some of them can also still be used as a means of utilizing and taking advantage when pumped like some of the memes that many people mention such as Pepe or some other memecoins.
Btw some time ago Elon also did another hypenya on memecoin and we know what happens when influencers like Elon make movements where memecoin or shitcoin that he pumped managed to craze in terms of price.

Whether it's worth buying or not depends on you, if you're not sure then you won't buy the exact same memecoins as gambling.

Because memecoins will never die, they will continue to appear every day, even hundreds to thousands of you will find it difficult to find diamonds in memecoins like Pepe and other memecoins.

So the meme trend in 2025 is still there with this narrative, but if you have doubts, don't ever jump into memecoins before regretting the losses.

So, the big question is:
❓ Are meme coins still worth investing in today?
❓ Or is the era of meme coins officially dead?
1. For me, I don’t see them as worth investing in, as they carry the highest risks among all altcoin sectors. Profiting from them largely depends on luck. It may be suitable for short-term investment or speculation, but the investor must bear the risks and conduct a deep analysis of the market because not all projects are worth investing in, and new projects require extensive experience in conducting research, especially since the memecoin space is rife with scams.

2. The era of meme coins is not over yet, as some projects have risen to prominence and there are coins that have collapsed and disappeared. Perhaps investors’ enthusiasm for the meme coin sector has decreased since we are in the Bitcoin season now.

Meme coins are very much alive and would keep on dominating the market for at least some years. Except bitcoin, the whole market is either Utility coins or meme coins on highest cap. There might be rise of fall of individual memes but meme coins as a whole are still the leading genre generating volume in trade.

The largest volume category are coin equivalent on different network, which are just mirror coins and are not a single classification. While the largest volume are taken by meme coins. There are trends like NFT, Gaming and AI but they seem temporary. They don't actually fulfill what they say they aim to do. But meme coins outperform the expectation from the day one.

AI agents took the lead in this one - who wouldn't want to ape the thing that would auto-shill itself and its coin to the public?
A trend to see for sure, but it's just.. the same thing in a different wrapping.

Back in 2021-2022, meme coins were all the rage.
Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, PEPE — everyone wanted to catch the next moonshot. 🚀

But now it’s 2025, and things have changed...

🔹 Some meme coins are still around.
🔹 Others have launched their own utilities and ecosystems.
🔹 Most, however, lost their hype, and their value crashed. 💥

So, the big question is:
❓ Are meme coins still worth investing in today?
❓ Or is the era of meme coins officially dead?

Yes, some are still worth investing in, they are not totally dead actually but the hype around it is what I think has gone down.
If you look at the market today it's only pepe, dogwif and few others that are doing well, the rest of them are in the market but they aren't doing well as they were being hype in the past, so on my own perspective, the only meme coin that is worth investing in right now is pepe, because according to what I heard, they have the largest holders among all meme coin, and the value doesn't crash drastically as most meme usually does, so that shows that it's a proper asset to invest in if you are willing to take the risk on meme coin.

Let’s be honest — we’ve all seen how hype drives this market. 😎
One day, a random meme coin skyrockets by +5000%,
and the next day, it’s down to zero. 🤯

But here’s something to think about:

💡 PEPE coin exploded out of nowhere in 2024 and made millions for early investors.
💡 Some meme coins are now creating real use cases (yes, seriously).
💡 Even Dogecoin got a massive upgrade to improve its ecosystem.

---

So… what’s your take on meme coins in 2025?
- Are they a smart gamble?
- Or just another bubble waiting to pop?

Let’s discuss! 🗨️
I’m curious to hear your thoughts. 👇
