I do see you know what I'm referring to, and you are right people (I too) are guilty of knowing what the hash rate of a pool is and doing math off of that.
Though, I have seen a few people who did not realize that when people say "long round" they are talking about the number of shares and not the time duration of the round...
Either way, to your comment about difficulty 2 pools.... there are none to my knowledge. Though, unless they wanted to play games with the difficulty number, a difficulty 2 pool might be wise just to count every share twice... that way any of their reward calculations based of the network difficulty "just work".
To the subject at hand.... yikes! first a 11 million share round, then a 13 million share round.... and to believe the next difficulty is predicted to be 1.8 million
