This forum popularity is linked to crypto popularity and big profits done in 2017 are done and I don't think they can come back. This does not mean that crypto are dead but many people lost interest in crypto because they were interested only in profits and not in blockchain technology.

If we remember one year ago was the max bitcoin bump, that attract people to bitcoin world and for sure if you are searching in google about bitcoin you will reach the forum, now bitcoin popularity is going down because the price keeps crashing, but just wait to see bitcoin again on $20k and this site rank will go up again, that's a fact.

One year (and a little more) ago people came here
- because the crypto market was rising extremely fast and they were hoping for some quick bucks.
- because their transactions were not getting confirmed and to seek for help
- ICOs were still a thing and many came for bounties
- many were here to spam for ranking up, then join bounties or sell accounts - merit system have solved that.

As you can see there were plenty of reasons for more and more people come here. And most of those reasons are not here anymore.
So a "decline" is normal. I don't think that they were significant for the money flow in crypto markets, so at least that's not a reason I'd be worried about.

I agree. I would add here more positive results in the fight against farms that have lost so many accounts this year. Also, I do not think that attendance on other cryptocurrency resources remained at the same level. It is only a matter of time.

The forum is not a benchmark whether or not crypto has a future. I think the current Alexa rank is quite high and there's nothing wrong with that.

I was curious and took a look in Alexa ranking site, and found that bitcointalk.org has been falling in popularity in one year. From rank around #1000 to #8595.. SHould we worry? is this just related to our coins or just the forum? I think the insane profits of the past are over... but there is still a bright future for cryptos!

No need to worry about this, this is just because of bear trend and also due to the implementation of merit system which makes the life of bounty hunters and account farmers harder so they might looking for another way to make money and leaving the bitcointalk. But still it is the best crypto currency forum, when you want to search something about crypto it will lead us to here only.

Using Alexa as a parameter to measure the popularity of bitcointalk in terms of traffic is limited. As you know that users need to have the alexa plugin for them to measure traffic. Its possible that the decline is as a result of users not using the plugin in their browsers; this is my opinion. However there should be other measurements to confirm this
That's indeed and i still doubt about how much accurate to determine the demand of crypto through use bitcointalk. This is the main forum of crypto itself but remembers there was a lot of stock exchange and companies are interested in working on the crypto like samsung, unity, and many more.

Simply analyzed, if I should suggest the reason for the drop in popularity, I think is just the drop in the total popularity of cryptocurrency , Agan many scam icos where registered in the forum last  year and it scared people away from losing money again.

The decline in popularity experienced by bitcointalk if we look at it from the point of view of profit is caused by the price of coins that have decreased in price so people no longer access the bitcointalk forum because basically many people who enter the bitcointalk forum are looking for profit.
