btw, one pool that seems to be pretty legit (or less steals) is miningpoolhub.  it's usually less than 10% off.   too bad they don't have too much alt-coins to mine or else i'll throw all my hash power there

Most calculators are going to be a bit (sometimes more!) off because they primarily make their money off of ads and thus traffic. People are going to visit a calculator site that seems to provide better returns compared to another one that may be spot on or lowballs rewards. It's unfortunate, but the only foolproof way to calculate actual current mining rewards is to just use a pen and paper or legitimately crunching numbers with a calculator.

yes, but ain't nobody got time for that Smiley

yes -- some pools steal as much as 20%

I had almost 14k sols on equihash mining snowgem on miningspeed and according to the calculator..I should get 150+ coins and I ended up with 80 on 25 hours of mining....now that's crazy

You're not doing anything wrong, it's the same for all of us Smiley

I wouldn't trust any pools that claim they have a 0% fee, I mean would you do anything for free? Some of them steal a percentage of your good shares.

Some other things that you need to be aware of are:
+most online calculators are a bit off
+you need to take into account that you're not using a fixed difficulty so, a variation in hash rate will occur
+block effort is also variable

I usually lowball myself when it comes to calculation to take all into consideration.  I did calculation for 240mh instead of my 260 average and yet i'm still 150+ coins off (for raven in this case). I am one of those that doesn't mind paying for fee because we all here to make money (miners, pool hosts) but to lowball myself and still off pisses me off....why can't we have honest people out there?

So I've been mining Ravencoin for the past few weeks and running on consistant 255~270mh (say 260 to be safe).   Now according to all the mining calculator I use...it should get me about 1100~1150 rvn a day.   Now I've been averaging at best 1030 rvn off ravenminer.com (always under 1000 on most days).   I understand mining program takes a fee (1% claimed by Z-Enemy) and say 1~2% on ravenminer.com (even though they said 0 pool fee).   How come I'm almost 10% off?!?

Same thing happened when I try to mine Snowgem when the calculator says I should get about 150~160 a day but I barely get 100....

Am I doing something wrong?

BTW, for Raven, I pulled my average hashrate from Ravenminer.com instead of Z-Enemy.
