They all base their dates off of the competition. I think most pre-orders have gone pretty bad. Think of how hard it is to buy bitcoin in the first place. Now consider how hard it is go out to bank asking for investment capitol for production that will eventually put them under. They will lose money whether you succeed or not. Anyway, I suspect the lead times are due to needing to push investment capitol off on the buyer, it's really risky for both parties but I don't think it's a conspiracy to increase difficulty.

Yes they are, of course, to "test" the units, A couple of days each to do not show a big jump on the graph.
Be sure that they are not giving goodies away for that money :-)
