Topic: Are Reddit accounts worth anything? (Read 497 times)

I like how reddit has a wide range of sub forums, you can find a sub reddt on almost any topic.  But what I don't like is how much mods censor on many of the sections.  They remove anything they don't agree with and it is easy to manipulate what goes to the top page with people rigging the upvotes.

Are there any means for someone to make money through Reddit? Cause I'm very sure that Reddit is not like this bitcointalk.org forum. If it was a Bitcointalk forum account (I AM NOT ADVISING YOU TO SELL ACCOUNTS) it would have been a different case and some people would be interested in it especially if it's a high ranked account. At least with a Bitcoin talk account you can participate in high paying bounties campaigns and get paid for your hard work. But Reddit is different there is nothing like that… unless they now do bounties on Reddit!? But even with that I wouldn't advise anyone to be buying accounts. It's better to create your own account and work hard for it and also keep it secured with a strong password.

Right, and I agree that no one should buy an account, regardless. Just try to work your way up, have a good posting habit in reddit and I'm sure in no time you will get the needed up-vote or karma points or whatever they call it.

You mean they are hacked.
In general I don't have positive opinion about accounts trading. This is something that shouldn't be done and even if you get account with good intentions you can never actually know what are you going to get and what is the background of account that is being sold. It's more likely that you will get some troubles rather than benefit.

That worth`s a lot. If you just know how to use your account to make money, it is useful. Joining bitcointalk bounty programs is a way to utilize your reddit account. There are many reddit campaigns in bounty altcoins. However, I am not a user of this social media app. I am just using facebook and twitter in order to follow the ICOs I want. I just do not know if there are many users of reddit because in my country, it is not the most influential application.

Yes, bounty campaigns are from bitcointalk. But making a post or comment from an account, that was created 5min ago and posted a kitten picture in /r/aww, doenst have any difference from a post from a 5+ years redditor with over 100k karma.


Because when you post, no one sees your account statistics, unless clicks on your account on purpose. That is why there is no difference from freshly made account or old to participate in bounty and high karma accounts doesnt worth much.

But that bounty campaign will be organised from bitcointalk right?
I have noticed last time bitcore bounty seems running there reddit campaign for their listed token. Apart from that under the bounty seems worth to participate with the bought reddit account.
I don't believe it is work for 50 USD also may be cheaper than that.

But it is possible to participate in reddit bounty campaign with freshly made account. Usually you are accepted if you have more than 25 karma. This can be achieved by posting any popular picture from, for example imgur.com.

I would say that reddit accounts doesnt worth much, as karma isnt an indicator as high rank on bitcointalk.

Reddit accounts are worth it and few altcoin campaigns give you to pay per post on Reddit too. They have reddit campaign just like facebook, twitter and other social media campaign. Reddit is a big platform but it is not popular globally. It is mostly used more in few parts of the world.

There are specific prices but I'm sure those wont really be too expensive and those factors like age,karmas would really affect the value of such account.It would be worthy if those accounts would be used up on some bounty thing rather than selling it cheap. Just amazed how you got so fast with karmas on a short span of time.

Reddit is similar to other forum accounts that are worth based on:

• karma score
• age
• subreddit member if the account moderate a big size subreddit (lot of member, similar to a group on other social media

Reddit account as other social media account shall be more worth if they are monetized especially by a mass marketing staff. With appropriate strategy, reddit will generate money.

Other reddit account worth beside above:
1. Direct goods/services selling
2. A place to search for information that is very diverse with a variety of subreddits filled by people who have specific interests according to their respective subreddits. The quality and popularity of an information can be seen from the number of upvotes in a post / comment. 3. Services business of Upvote, Downvote and increasing of a reddit account reputation e.g: https://www.soar.sh/reddit-marketing-services. 50 Upvotes ~= US$ 15 (Not recommended)

5. Providing reddit training especially on reddit marketing strategy by online or offline

you can use it in joining bounties that have reddit campaigns, your reddit post can be worth something
specially few hunters join reddit compare to facebook and twitter so the stake you can get can be much higher than other socmed

Not just a simple Facebook account but an account owning a group with large members.

That's what buyers want for a purpose of; advertising, shilling, start-up, etc.


Again, not a simple Reddit account but an account with a good number of Karma is somehow a valued user on their community.

Lolz, I'm not surprised, there is nothing people wouldn't do for money these days. If Facebook account can be sold, then why not a Reddit account? I see people that put up their Facebook account for sale, but to me it is useless and I don't even see any as to why anyone would be buying a Facebook account. Even for a Reddit account, I don't also see why I should be buying a Reddit account, when I can easily just create one with my email. These days you don't even have to be entering long details, just hit on sign-in with a Facebook or Google account and your account is ready. If the Reddit account was useful the you would have kept it for yourself I guess.

It is valuable or not worth depending on the user. I see bounty campaigns with Reddit, they spend 5-10% on Reddit. Posting meaningful articles at Reddit will help you get the attention of everyone.

Oh yeah, I've definitely seen some Reddit account sales threads before, not just offers to sell them but requests to buy as well.  And no, I haven't seen any in quite some time either (though I think I have the Invites & Accounts section blocked).  I don't get what the big deal is about aged accounts there, but I'm assuming it has to do with bounties or somehow using them to make more money. 

I can't stand Reddit, though they do--or did--have that dogecoin tipbot functioning.  When I was first getting into crypto I had somewhat of a hard-on for doge and would read that subreddit.  I thought it was nice they'd incorporated crypto like that. 

Anyway, account sales are inherently deceiving and I don't care if it's a Reddit account or an eBay account.  I don't recommend it.

I think you'll find that accounts, especially aged ones and ones with good posting history, always have some worth, but generally never to the level you think.

Redditors are like bct people though, they know each other. So you could get caught out easily.

Looks like a marketplace for buyers/sellers of Reddit accounts. There is also a price list which might give you an idea about how much a certain account.

Don't know the site's legitimacy so up to you how to deal on it.

I'm not familiar with the specifics honestly. What you can do is, visit a marketplace where the buying and selling of Reddit accs are popular, then use the list there as a reference. If it's possible to ask, then go for it. Using many sources would help in seeing the big picture.

My country limits the use of reddit, so I'm not easy to access it. so far I have to use PVN to register. for me reddit is only used for bounty campaigns.

Interesting, and thanks for that. I didn't realize there was a board specifically for invites and accounts.

And $40 for an account with 3,000 karma? Yikes... I've seen individual posts/comments that get 10 times that amount. Really makes me really wish I didn't delete my first Reddit account which had 2,000 karma.

Reddit is social media site, its helpful to spread information.

There are campaigns on reddit which bounty managers will want accounts to post and repost, it could be worth for those who joined in that camapign. Personally though I just scanned the /r/Bitcoin/ section, read some comments and that's it, maybe can you try and open it in this board, Invites & Accounts.

I did a quick Google search and it does seem like Reddit accounts have been sold here in the past. Most of the threads are from 2018 or earlier though.

I don't know if they have sort of value in monetary but you posted on the wrong forum, try asking it there and know the opinion of people that most of the time stay on reddit.
I don't use reddit regularly but where you got the idea that an account that has a lot of karma has an expected value and has sort of market?

Several months ago, I made two accounts on Reddit. Throughout the course of normal posting, commenting, and replying to other people's posts, one of the accounts has managed to amass nearly 1k karma while the other has a little over 100 karma.

Does anyone know if these accounts are worth anything? Is there an equation out there that lets you know how much a Reddit account is worth based on its karma score? Does account age also factor? The accounts are only a couple of months old.
