If I buy the name, then I'll post it in this thread.
The site hasn't been active for quite a while.

Well I gve in, and I've had an offer accepted by the registrar. It'll take another day od so to know if the name can be transferred to me.

First Ponzi scheme I can think of from 2015: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/scam-emicoincom-emi4-review-1072949.

There was a group of investors from this forum that out 75+BTC into the site and obviously lost it.

I tried a forum search, and a site specific in Google. I reckon Bitcoin Talk members were too smart to fall for the scam, whatever it was. Smiley

You might want to try the forum search feature rather than Google. The Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Trading Discussion > Scam Accusations > Investigations board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=227.0 is only visable to forum members above a certain rank so Google can't crawl it.

Thanks, tht's wht I thought. I might just buy one of the names if it's cheap enough, and put a new owner banner on the index page. The phrase looks useful, so it seems a shame to pass on the purchase.

Considering the sheer number of scams I don't think it's improbable that a number of them have not been reported in Bitcointalk. After all, most of the obvious scams are probably not even mentioned due to that fact.

Pop into Scam Accusations and you'll seldom find threads about ponzi scams (at least those that aren't very contrived).

I'm looking at some dropped domain names for former HYIP scam sites, and I ran some searches on Bitcoin Talk. I don't get any results, but Google throws up a number of links to other sites. If a site gets reported as a scam site, and then it is taken out of the zone, do the refences here get deleted, or is it just that nobody reported it on the Bitcoin talk boards?
