I wonder if people who are caught scamming bitcoins are facing any legal action/prosecution? I know there are a few cases of scammers being prosecuted but that  is only for big amounts of $1m+

Does anybody know if there has been any scammers that have been successfully prosecuted in civil and criminal courts? Is there any recourse once you've been scammed?

Ironically, BitScotty was arrested on Saturday (5/7/14) and all his computer equipment seized.
He's currently looking at court appearances...

No. A few get caught get into trouble, but it seems to be a long drawn out process.

but yeah as you said... nothing happens...

for some reason even when people know who the scammer is, 99% of people on these forums wouldn't confront the person..
plus their is a large portion of people who keep getting scammed by "investing" in securities.

it was comical at the start... now its just sad.

Now that's a can do attitude!
Why? are you worried about something? Yes, if there is sufficient evidence, a scammer will be prosecuted.

I'm not worried about anything, but I have been looking into if people are getting prosecuted, every day I see a new scam accusation posted, is anything being done about it? is justice being served?
