Thank you for your input guys, it's nice to hear the opinions of well seasoned members in the space.

It was the first time that I had seen a .holdings domain extension, when I discovered it. I know that .com and .org extensions are the premium domain extensions today but I can't help but feel that this extension is especially apt for potentially the largest global currency owned by a PLC.

I was quite happy with the link which was posted, $500+ dollars off just the wording alone isn't bad. I'm going to wait for the hype, the announcement and some worldwide adoption and then test the water. I feel that this will sing to either an avid collector, a Crypto trust fund which would like to use the term globalcoin, as it can relate to all coins which will be a part of the new economy and also will be heavily searched on Google. Or it might be of interest to Facebook themselves.

We will see Smiley it is well worth a mid to long term hold.

Thanks again, I wish you all wealth and prosperity in the years ahead. God bless.

You did not mention how much you purchased that domain, but you have nothing to lose if you hold on to it and see where it's going to go, big companies want to have a monopoly on their name on the internet, they sometimes buy in bulk to shut off the competition with their name online, so why not wait for a year after Facebook launch their Globalcoin.

The domain in question is Globalcoin.holdings

I acquired it last week due to the influx of mainstream media attention regarding Facebook's cryptocurrency - Globalcoin. The plan was to hold this long term and wait for the global currency to mature upon mass adoption, to then sell it. It's pretty clear where the value lies, Facebook will be potentially, the biggest entity on the planet in a few years with a bottomless pit of money. It's almost inevitable that they will want to spin off a holdings company for their currency later down the line.

I just wanted to set a gauge and see if anyone was interested in this.

I'm still totally undecided if I want to part ways with it but I would definitely consider it if I received a decent offer.
Domains don't get sales so easily. Sometimes the domains stay with you forever or you have to expire it. I'm not discouraging you, but telling the truth and the truth is always bitter.

I'm telling from my own experience.
I bought some domains in 2016 and about 70% domains I let expire in 2017-2018. Currently just hodling the best ones which I thought to be the best ones.
Since 2016 I'm just renewing those 30% domains which I'm hodling now. I actually never sold a domain, so the profit is like a dream.

One of my best domain is cryptointelligence.net, the .com price is $110,500.00 @GoDaddy and $118,000.00 @namecheap
What I'm trying to say is, .net even doesn't get a sale and you may need to hodl years. Even I'm holding a .com since the beginning.
But whatever, I will be holding those domains as long as I can but won't sell below my expectation.

Hodl your domain as long as you can, maybe one day you make the sell. Post it in different forums, and you can also post it to Namepros.

And if you like domain business then just flip it - buy for 10, sell for 20
If you make a sale then it's 100% gain.  Smiley Good Luck

Thank you. I have a little bit of experience with domains, I've sold a couple for really strong profits. We all share the same trait of having foresight. It may take time but the risk-reward ratio is highly favourable Smiley

I’ve escrowed a few domain name sales here that sold up into the high 5 digits.
Can you name domains if not a secret?

It isn't secret, but probably in bad taste.  I'll say one of them had to do with ETH and cats.  Wink

Nice Smiley massive respect for the excellent foresight.

OP to be fair I don't like domain despite the fact that I know where your aim goes. Doubt facebook will ever buy that domain but as always, there are better options, for example there are countries where only local citizens can buy domain. If you live in such country, there is a huge chanse it will benefit you a lot, for example one man did great job when bought google's local domain, personally I own top domains, including binance, bittrex, had asos's domain and a lot.

Unless and until we see the market give more trust to globalcoin when it listed!
We should not believe that coin itself first and then deciding it for buying the relevancy coin name domain. that too .holdings may not work at all. If you get any marketing kind of work with the global coin team. You itself do something with it.

Big brands buy any extensions available to protect their identity (ie: microsoft.porn) but they don't use it ofc, it's just an ORM method. I would say the original idea of @OP was reasonable. In the case of FB and its globalcoin, any extensions are good to buy.
The only thing is, there is a company called GlobalCoin and if I'm correct it's a crypto related company. Look like it's a better target for OP.

If its .com then it might have some considerable value but talking about .holdings? It would be still a piece of trash domain.

But you can take a look on this https://ph.godaddy.com/domain-value-appraisal/appraisal/?checkAvail=1&tmskey=&domainToCheck=Globalcoin.holdings.

I don't know much about trading in valuable domains, but would a .holdings domain really be worth much?
It's the first time I've ever seen that extension being used, so I'd be really surprised if it had any value.

Could be wrong of course...
I agree with your thoughts. From what I read, Globalcoin can turn into big if everything will be done correctly. But I doubt that .holdings domain have big potential. If you would have .com, .org, .net, .io or similar domain, then we would be able to talk about big potential. .holdings domain is just one of many which aren't widely used. For example, I doubt that website like Bitcoin.holdings have big value.
