Surely there are. Take a look at the exchanges. Most likely these are more "professional" closed groups, not something like fairpumps or the others we've seen advertised here.

Yeah there's definitely something that's been going on in the past few months just looking at Yobit alone.  Altcoins have been up and down like a yo yo whilst bitcoin itself is stagnant.

Just look at that gridcoin thing. That stuff, I don't know what it is, is up 100% today. Who's behind it? Who's buying it? Why are they buying it? When the answers aren't evident, it means it's not real people pushing up the price.

I am sure it is a pump group. There is a post on reddit that is taking credit for generating the renewed interest in GRC: https://www.reddit.com/r/Futurology/comments/4b4drk/a_currency_minted_by_doing_science/

So the pumpers probably gave it it's initial nudge, then once it started going up in price a bit, along with the new attention, FOMO kicked in and bamm, a pump is born.

They must still be around, just very low key.

I think this are closed groups by few very rich people who dominate the crypto market. Why should they share this info with all people don't expect to be welcome in an exclusive group.

You can find them all on twitter (including Fontas...). I think they've stopped posting here because the number of noobs they could coral for their schemes dropped.

I miss Fontas. He was always good for some excitement on BTC-e, and later on Cryptsy.

"OK everyone, I'm going to pump TRC next Thursday at 01:00. I hope you don't take advantage of me too badly."
This is good to know! I will watch, and if i see movement i will jump in.

I remember good pumps conducted by Fontas, and after every pump alt coins were useless and soon dead and forgotten. This is why this king of groups are not very good for progress.

Are there still active pump/dump groups?

Oh yes, and they're co-ordinated by a Nigerian price of the blood who hid $35 million in bank to avoid being expropriated by the Nigerian government. He'd be glad to assign pumping responsibility and the funds to you, but you need to help him smuggle out the $35 mill. Check your Email for details. Cheesy  Tongue

Yes they probably exist and they are in ETH and they will pump LISK and other future project.
When you see over 100 btc-s daily volume you know they are here.

I followed fairpumps net group for some time. As far as I can see they are still active.
I don't think they are still active. At least their "recent pumps" section shows their last activity as June 2015.
