The number one website/app the pay writers for their stories is Wattpad.com. Wattpad is a free reading and writing app. It is used to connect with people around the world who write. It’s like YouTube but for writing and reading. Most of the writings are fanfics but you can find a lot of different genres that include fiction. Wattpad Paid Stories is a program that makes it possible for writers to earn money for their work while providing readers with a way to monetarily support writers on Wattpad.

I believe the it worth for any writer to have their own publication (website) and to publish a summary only in websites like Medium. It makes sense to bring readers to your own publication and to establish your own brand, rather than working for Medium or any other publishing platforms.

I love to write short stories (mostly horror and sci-fi) and I was wondering if there are good platforms to sell them or publish. I have googled and found links to magazines and blogs which are way complicated for a normie author like me.

Medium is the most used platform for that.
You can publish your stories there and not to be afraid that they are going to be censored as this is going to be your own blog. You just have to apply for their partners' program and be accepted.

You're right we need to join different websites to write our own stories and pay for them However, a good platform for writing stories is articles or blogs. These sites are great for writing stories or you can collect various information by searching on Google.

Wattpad.
Probably no longer a strange name for the author's reader. Just a few simple step, you have an account and create your own.

Hello iamsheikhadil,

Yes, there are many sites where you can get paid to write stories, but I would prefer http://www.webuystories.com/ and https://www.wattpad.com/ because I had heard from one of my friends that he was paid for his stories, I am not sure about how much he was paid or what are the payment methods. You can also use steemit, but you need popularity to earn a lot. Newbies might not earn a huge sum of money at the beginning. The other problem which happened to me almost 2 years ago is that a guy had flagged my post for no reason and I didn't get paid for it. If it wouldn't have been flagged probably I would have earned around 30$ for that article(I am not sure about the current process, if they review the article or not). The advantage of steemit is that you can earn unlimited money, i.e, there is no limit on how much you will be paid, but a year ago there was a rule that you get paid only the amount for which you got upvotes for that particular week. Just ensure which one is best for you and go for it.

Thank You

I didn't know about this partnership thing in the medium. As I thought, it's just a place where you can post your blogs freely and didn't know that you can have this tie-up with them.

What are the other details regarding this partnership program?

Opera news is another wonderful place if you are a content writer. It is owned by the famous opera mini. Also, there many freelancer site that you can promote your gig as a content writer. Fiverr is one of them. If you are very good in history and linguistic, you can also try platform such as studypool there are many students looking for writers to complete their assignment.

Publish first your articles to sites like medium or even your own website/domain to have your samples.

In services, I usually see article writing jobs but most of them are related to crypto. Check the freelancing sites like Upwork and fiverr, I've seen authors looking for their ghost writers.
