Tried to send 0.02293095BTC 30 minutes ago from an exchange to my wallet, and still 0 confirmations. The exchange defined the speed and they always put at maximum.

Are we already on the fork? Did I lost my money?
No, there has not been a fork, and there being a fork would not effect your transaction getting included into a block or not. What is the txid of your transaction?

I'm also getting the message "unknown block versions being mined". What to do about it?
That is unrelated to your transaction not being confirmed. That warning is because more than 50 of the last 100 blocks are signalling for a consensus rule proposal which your wallet is not aware of.

It confirmed now. But I find strange that it took so much time just for a first confirmation.

Well, as it has been discussed all the way since the first time it was launched and lucky for us achow101 patiently answering all the question even though it was repeated again and again.
It took so much time, how long? Don't you know about many transactions ever stuck for days? back in May 2017 when the unconfirmed transaction reached ATH over 100K. Consider you are lucky enough to get it confirmed within hours.

Exactly this!
Not strange. A lot of people have got the same message lately. Don't stress that much!

Achow101, can this be the exchange and not the wallet?

OP didn't really say where they saw the warning.  It's certainly possible that an exchange is running a node that generates the warning and they're showing it on their webpage or something.  I see the warning in the output of 'getinfo' on bitcoiin-core:

Code:
$ bitcoin-cli getinfo
{
  "version": 149900,
  "protocolversion": 70015,
  "walletversion": 60000,
  ...
  "errors": "Warning: Unknown block versions being mined! It's possible unknown rules are in effect"
}

Also, this forum's News ticker has a message about this: "News: The warning which may be displayed by Bitcoin Core about unknown versions is related to BIP91, and can be safely ignored."

I also got a transaction yesterday sending some Bitcoin from Bittrex to another local-based wallet and it came actually very fast...I was even thinking that maybe Bitcoin is now back to its former glory as far as being fast is concerned.

As of now, there is no fork yet and I don't know any specific day when it can happen (that is if it will happen since there are those who are saying there might not be a fork). Maybe we really have to wait for August 1 for that.

You haven't indicated what the fee rate was... nor provided a transaction ID... so there is no way for anyone to be able to confirm whether or not your delay was justified.

Having said that, judging by the time you posted (Today at 09:31:34 Posted by: fabiorem)... this had happened:
Quote
476,273   AntPool   2,804   998,234   0.00311651   12.5 + 3.11100521 BTC   2017-07-18 09:28:29   BU SW2x NYA
476,272   BTC.com   1,956   998,114   0.00197449   12.5 + 1.97076649 BTC   2017-07-18 08:35:40   SW2x NYA
There was a period earlier today just about the time you were posting where no block was mined for almost an hour! Shocked

Regardless of the fee used, no one was getting a confirmation in that timeframe... and no doubt, this caused a bit of a backlog of transactions... so it may have taken a few blocks after Block 476,273 was mined to clear the backlog, so even "max fees" might have take a block or 2 longer than normal.
