It's a proven fact, exposure to the Internet results in a mild-to-sever case of douchebaggery. Combine that with a fundamentalist religion, and you get gunpowder.

I feel something in the air.

I don't know what it is, but it feels "different".

I feel like we are about to experience a paradigm shift.

I used to kind of hope for a nuclear war because I thought the shakeup might cause positive social change, but I now tend to think that it'd be bad for voluntarism. Probably it would lead to less rational thinking among the populace (due to panic) and a more violent government.

Also billions of people dying could easily disturb you.

to OP: I am under the impression too, that some religious people get more and more touchy. Is it because they get access to the internetz and youtubez?

If something like a full on nuclear war were to break out, the survivors would have nothing to look forward to but C.O.G.

If there is another world war, it will be nuclear. I don't consider this entirely unlikely, since our incompetent, violent governments have lots of nukes...

I don't completely agree with that. If all nuclear weapons were unleashed at once it would be doomsday, but I don't think any government has things set up to do that. Full-scale nuclear war would consist of dozens or perhaps hundreds of nuclear explosions at certain strategic points, but an entire country would not be blanketed with explosions. This would result in short-term (a few months) danger from fallout and long-term (decades) economic damage due to "nuclear winter" climate change and illness/death due to the radiation. But we would not need to rebuild civilization from scratch or anything.

Depends on what you mean by "rebuild." Perhaps not sticks and stones, but in the near-term after full-scale nuclear war, ammunition will be worth it's weight in gold. We'd need to rebuild the industrial base, probably a good chunk of infrastructure, and the social structure would be at best deeply shaken.

Just another excuse for more of our freedoms to be eroded. That's why I'm focusing on BTC now...

So this are protesters, having a demonstration.

Against what are they protesting? A Video?

A Video that likely 99.9% of them haven't seen.

Only one word: Religions.

History will probably call these the Abrahamic Oil Wars.

I think it will more likely be the Opium Wars.
