I hate to be the one to say I told you so........hit 500 at 3am. Don't get me wrong I've been interested in bitcoin for a while, and would love to get some, but even at 500 it's still too expensive. I will consider buying a small amount at 500, just to be in the game a bit, but realistically I wouldn't be dumping my savings or anything more than I would take with me to vegas for that matter. Because of the dramatic rise to 1200 with nothing not more than money makers making that happen due to the small about of existing coins.
The concept is simple but up all the coins cheap, drive the price up, sell when all the "consumer" buyers are saying it's gunna go to 10000, or a million. No that they have sold all the bit coins they have for huge profits, the rest of you are holding still holding the bag. Only time will tell, but with no security getting fiat in or out of bitcoin. People are going to stop buy and start selling.

Gox is a huge source of FUD, always has been. I believe Bitcoin would be better off if it had been shut down in an orderly fashion months ago. I'm wondering now whether they actually have the funds and coins to honor their withdrawl obligations.

Seems like my spidey senses woke me from my sleep right almost the optimum short term long opportunity. But looking at these single 1700 BTC sell orders coming out of the blue and slamming into Bid wall on Stamp, I didn't fancy taking the bite at anything other than the most extreme sell-off down spikes.
After every previous Bitcoin crash, the spot price has found its way back down below the 200 day Moving Average. If that were to happen tomorrow, Bitcoin would have to go to around $450-$480.

It isn't falling that quick. At least not in Bitcoin terms. If things playout in a text book fashion Bitcoin will find support at around $720 and the new resistance will be $765. It will take a lot of selling pressure to push Bitcoin below the low $700 range support which doesn't mean that it won't happen, just that failing some kind of 'event', I wouldn't place my money on it happening 'all of a sudden' and certainly not tonight.

Not "screaming" about anything, but if the price goes to $500 I will buy a number of bitcoins equal to what I now possess. I'm not shorting I'm buying for the long haul.

I thought about taking profit in the $700's, but I think I'm just going to hodl and buy a little more as it is cheap, or gets cheaper. It's a long term investment for me (I think there may be CRAZY upside to it) and I really don't see good enough reasons to jump ship. Also, my investments are somewhat diverse, so no matter how much BTC falls it really won't hurt me.

Everyone seems conditioned that that crazy pace from Nov was the norm.. it ain't going to fly like that anymore. Once enough coins get in circulation (less whales left to dump on price) and price bottoms out a bit, then it will be a slow climb up.. plenty of time to get back in even before $1000

When Bitcoins were $1100, I used to think how much I would love to buy $800 Bitcoins once again.
I have had plenty chance to go long with $800 Bitcoins in recent times, but somehow it just didn't seem so appealing any more.
I think it is likely that if Bitcoins trend as low as $300, the buyers' psychology will have changed, a lot!
