I rarely visit land-based casinos. Many years ago, I used to bet mostly thru peer to peer and online sports betting with fiat. It was only after several months of investing in bitcoin that I finally decided to open accounts on some sports betting sites that are accepting it. Since then I continue to bet using bitcoin and sometimes altcoins too. Fiat online betting became a thing of the past as I felt more comfortable using crypto casinos and sports betting.

Another thing I notice is that most of the betting companies that are being promoted here in bitcointalk have their own representatives which makes it easier to settle issues.

Anonymity: Bitcoin transactions are anonymous, which means you can bet on sports without revealing your identity.
Anonymous in a way that you're not using your first name while betting but that's just the first because if ever you got lucky and got some handful of coins with you after the activity, they will start and establish a KYC (which is by the way common in bitcoin sportsbooks nowadays) before you can actually withdraw your funds.
And why would they reveal my identity? They for sure know that it is against the law.

Security: Bitcoin is a secure and reliable form of payment, which means you can trust Bitcoin sportsbooks with your money.
Sportsbook is definitely not a wallet where it is really secure, therefore security is always an issue.

For me, I've only gambled on a land based casino ones or twice, not more than twice I think, before I got into bitcoin, and every betting online I've ever done was done on a bitcoin sportsbook, I have never tried depositing, and betting with fiat, it has all been bitcoin for the past 2 years I start betting on sports online.

Stake.com is my favorite casino, when it comes to anything betting/gambling, I've been a user of some other Casinos before I joined, Stake's service are top notch, not saying this because I am wearing their signature, this is just my personal and honest review.

I There are a lot of people who are familiar with Bitcoin and its features, but I don't think it's a good idea to use Bitcoin sportsbooks as a means of payment.
Not just familiar but they are involved with it already. Those who are only familiar with it are newbies and they are still doubting if they will also join the millions of people who are already in to it or they will wait for a better moment because some countries still has a complicated status when it comes to legalization of Bitcoin and there are people who still lacks of proper knowledge on how to operate and avoid taking big risks in Bitcoin but that's better than just rushing completely and ended up regretting.

I don't understand. Why say that Bitcoin is bad for payment on sportsbooks? Is it about its volatility? Or something else? But it's fine, that is your opinion but the majority of us here have no problems with it and we will continue using it.
Gas fee I guess. Personally, I am using other coins whenever I am depositing or withdrawing on the gambling site I am currently playing at. But this is not because Bitcoin isn't as useful as with the coins I am using, it jist happened that fees are lower which is not surprising given how large Bitcoin network is. There are even times I prefer using fiat in sportsbooks because there are no strict restriction in my country but I doubt with the others. To those countries wherein gambling is totally prohibited, cryptobased platforms could be an aid not unless servers are restricted. Also, I wont condemn players who worries from losing in their holdings as in line with their bets. That's simply normal given that it is money we re talking about.

It looks like you're spamming all over this thread and you seem to have lost us with "using sportsbook as a means of payment", what does that even mean?

@OP, it's guaranteed that everyone in this community who loves to place bets in any sports must have used Bitcoin sportsbook, since we are in a Bitcoin community - so that's kind of automatic.
One of the good advantage of using Bitcoin to bet in sportsbook, is that you don't need to link your financial information to your account such as credit and debit card. That is what I don't like in a traditional online betting websites and the reason why I don't use traditional bookies.
Obvious for people here to use that since this is the main currency accepted by sportsbook who focus on crypto. So its really nonsense to ask this question on bitcoin forum since he can just get generic answer to his question. Maybe he just want to read up the sentiments of the people regarding on this that's why he posted this nonsense question on this community. Majority here doesn't like to transact using their fiat or cards by betting online so the best option is to go with bitcoin since it can somehow make them feel safe from their local regulators.

Er, the topic is pretty much about Bitcoin as a currency, the type of service/product you use it in can be irrelevant on the discussion really. Now if we we're talking about crypto sportsbooks themselves instead, then that's a different thing, since even with the same currency they still offer different services after all (and to add, I've tried it alright). Kinda ironic really since some services directly kill the advantages of Bitcoin like anonymity, I know it's simply regulations but you get my point.

And to add, pretty sure everyone here, or at least people who visit this section of the forum have at least used Bitcoin in a sportsbook/casino, so I don't really see any reason as to ask if they actually tried it or not.

I agree with most of the points raised by goinmerry.

Let me just add one more,
Access: Bitcoin sportsbooks are available to anyone with an internet connection, which means you can bet on sports from anywhere in the world.
Let's test this with nitrobetting.

I've looked at your terms and conditions and this is what I saw under restrictions of use,
Quote
You may not use Nitrobetting if you are an employee or consultant of any company related to Nitrobetting, or a relative or family member of any such restricted persons.

You are also restricted from using the site if you reside in any of the following countries: Bulgaria, Hungary, Venezuela, China, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Russian Federation, Costa Rica, United Kingdom.

You are a Bitcoin sportsbook also and yet you don't allow anyone with an internet connection so that also means not everyone can bet on sports from anywhere in the world. It doesn't look like you practice what you preach.

Perhaps you should be more careful with what you post as that also reflects with the gambling platform you are promoting.

I think it's more of OP describing just the Bitcoin itself.

Instant deposit and withdrawal? Tell me a sportsbook where Bitcoin deposit and withdrawal are instant, not unless it's a decentralized gambling platform.
Anonymity? - It's for Bitcoin itself but that can be changed if you are using a centralized sportsbook and they implement KYC-related stuff.
Security? - Not your keys, not your coins.

The reason I'm using Bitcoin or crypto-sportsbook is not because of the reasons you mentioned which are technically for Bitcoin only. Crypto-sportsbook are giving better odds and "MORE BETTING OPTIONS" compare to fiat sportsbook based on my experience.

If you are just new into those crypto gambling space then its good that you have experienced the beauty on making use of Bitcoin when it comes to gambling. This is why it is really that getting more attention because of this reason and features on which you cant really be able to experience or get when you do deal up with fiat.Somewhat we do have other options as well on which there are bookies or platforms which does have accept
also some altcoins which means the more option we do have the more better we could be able to get on. Even we do like it or not, there are altcoins which does have much cheaper in terms of fees
when it comes to transactions which there are people whom do really love on making use of it despite on using Bitcoin. There are really indeed times that confirmation times do really takes too long
on the time the network is clogged. Good thing is that we do have other options to take considering that they had been offering that also.

For a while I was only betting sports through a buddy who had become a "bookie" for a group of us friends and other people we went to college with.  Once he decided it was more work than he felt like dealing with, I was out of luck.  I found bitcoin back in 2014ish, and sometime around 2016-17 I realized that a lot of online casinos were now starting to allow for bitcoin payments.  That completely changed the game for me, and have been doing more online sports betting than ever now that crypto, and more so bitcoin are a payment option ( versus receiving shady checks from some island nation).

Goodnight, ohh Leo!!! 🦅
This is prolly an ad.. you should have created an ANN thread for it, based on your subject topic.
I may not be a gambler or strong supporter of gambling but I know alot of casinos with good bonus and odds .... Sportsbo isn't one of them. Alot of new casinos are growing way too better than some old ones, which is the reasons why sometimes, the preference is greater on every new casino than the old ones....it's called "Marketing strategy". I read a big complaint about how your casino is slowing becoming a flop, so I think if you've got a upper-hand, then you must be too slow in taking actions if the necessary rehabilitations exceeds two weeks.

I've done that obviously and of course the majority of us here. But at these times, I think that everyone is starting to think of preserving their bitcoins for the next bull run.

While there are some other altcoins that's also accepted in most sports books, that's what we can opt to to keep on betting with the sports we follow and would love to bet without spending our bitcoin.

Since we've got a lot of bookies that are focused with bitcoin/altcoin acceptance, soon we might see physical casinos that has bookies as well that will accept bitcoin too.

Certainly, those who are into gambling and in this forum, may have at one point bet on their favorite sports.
Once you found the crypto bookies, you may not want to go back on fiat-based sportsbetting sites.
For me, one good thing with crypto bookies is that you can bet small without worrying about what other people will say.
Can you go to a regular physical betting place and place $5 or $10? I would say, you won't do that, it's like wasting your time.
But with crypto bookies, you can place small bets very easy, and at the comfort of your home. What more can you ask for?
Yes, that's actually one of the best things in crypto bookies. The minimum bet isn't that much and you can use that until it's gone or until you want to withdraw it as long as it suits the minimum withdrawal.

While there's really the pros and cons, if you're the hang out type of person then you suit the fiat-based physical casinos that has sports betting as well.

But if you want just to chill and sit at your home, you know what's best and that's going in a crypto bookie.

My bets were much on casinos, but my initial days of gambling were much into sports betting. I enjoyed much on betting on tennis matches on directbet which is completely anonymous. The decentralised operation is completely enjoyable and it gives the best gambling experience, because soon after the match you'll see the winning amount received in the wallet which you've assigned. Later after its closure my choice moved towards casino games and once again planning to switch into sports betting.
Sports betting is one of my favorite gambling as well, as you both enjoyed watching your favorite sports and winning at the same time. I see no problem using my Bitcoin for gambling, as long as it is within the budget there should be no problem regardless of its currency. Though you should have consider the value of Bitcoin, many are not spending it in preparation for the next bull run.

Not Your Keys, Not Your Bitcoin
Have you tried betting on sports with Bitcoin? Share your experience in the comments!
Not only that, but you can bet on games and events using micro bitcoin. It makes sense when you deposit 0.001 BTC and see something like mbtc, the value gives you the feeling that you are betting large sums and having more fun than the standard $$ value in betting. However, I have a problem with Bitcoin when it comes to deposits and withdrawals, as well as network congestion. When the mempool becomes full, waiting for transactions to be confirmed, you have to double the amount of your fees to get your Bitcoin into any sportsbook, and if you are not careful, you will end up spending the money that could be used to wager on 1 or 2 games with a reasonable multiplier.
The @OP talk about using Bitcoin in sports betting, not gamble on games or slots. Most of casinos are using provider to add the sports bookie and you can't gamble using mBTC because the minimum stake is $1, not 1 Satoshi. AFAIK only Freebitco.in let you place bet with just 1 Satoshi in their sports betting, in Web 3.0 casino you can also gamble by placing bet in coin/token equivalent, but it's not Bitcoin.

What happens to casinos that have sportsbook segments, like a sub-section of sports events? Out of 10 casino or betting companies on this forum has a sportsbook because they generate more revenue than operating any of them independently, hope you understand my reference now. That being said.

When someone makes a post, either you agree or disagree, and it is your choice to interact or not but in this case, I chose to disagree and made my own point of the disadvantage of using BTC sub-sportsbook on Casino platforms, so where exactly did I say wager on games? I only say the high cost of transaction fees on a full frequency of Mempool is what I dislike, these fees should have been used for some luck on casino games and that is my opinion, mine doesn't need to go well with your experience or philosophy.

Quote
Most of casinos are charge additional fees when you want to withdraw your coins, it's not only because of mempool are full.

I know that casinos or sportsbooks are business people and sometimes look for a way to milk players but what about the funding? I believe that counts too because by the time the Bitcoin network becomes busy in a few days to halving, you will see people paying up to $10 to get the transaction across the network. Even the Sportbook that charges less will have to increase its withdrawal fee to meet the demand of the network.

well, i'm a big fan of sports betting and since i was a kid i like to watch the main soccer leagues with premier league, serie A, bundesliga, la liga and liga1 and portuguese league, and of course i use bitcoin to bet, but I also use litecoin to place bets because casinos tend to put a higher minimum hold value for bitcoin, maybe because the transaction fee is higher than some altcoins, but it's not a great value, it's in the 3$ minimum to withdraw in bitcoin at the casino where I place sports bets

about the anonymity part, this is something that no longer exists, I say this because all casinos have a license, or at least if a casino does not want to have problems with the governments, it needs to have a license and as an obligation of the license provider, the casino must asking your customers for KYC, then talking about things like anonymity is a big illusion, exchanges ask for KYC, casinos ask for KYC, and everything indicates that things are only going to get worse with each passing year. better forget about things like anonymity

I exclusively use three reliable platforms to indulge in my football gambling activities, with my primary focus being on the English Premier League (EPL). I always compare the multiplier values on sportsbet.io, stake.com, and rollbit.com to ensure that I choose the site with the highest multiplier. Since all three sites are reputable, it's a simple decision-making process for me to select the ideal platform to play on.
My preferred gambling website is usually Rollbit, as it offers several entertaining games to play while waiting for matches, and the most crucial aspect is that the withdrawal process is lightning-fast.

Please can you elaborate more on this very statement of yours? Because nobody made mention of using "Bitcoin sportsbooks as a means of payment", but what is been discuss here is using "Bitcoin sportsbooks for gambling of which O.P made mentioned asking people to share their experience on the different sportbooks they might have used for gambling. So I quite not understand what you are trying to insinuate, because as far as I know, Bitcoin remains the safest, fastest and cheapest means of making payment compared to our traditional fiat currencies that we normally use.

It doesn’t have withdrawal fee and most importantly the casino doesn’t require KYC on regular user that playing normally. I have sportsbet.io account for more than 3 years. I never encounter a single problem despite I’m always winning on my bet.

I think of the user here experienced Bitcoin sportsbook since all the casino in the forum use Bitcoin as currency. They even have signature campaign that pays in Bitcoin.

I almost forgot when I played in a land-based casino or personally visited a bookmaker's office to place a bet. The development of the Internet has led to the fact that we can do many things without leaving home, and the development of cryptocurrencies has added even more convenience and anonymity to these processes. It seems to me that in a forum dedicated to bitcoin, almost every gambler has used cryptocurrency to play casino and sports betting.

This is the case of every gamblers on this forum, since Bitcoin and gambling are subjects of their interest, especially regards gamblers who promote casinos and sportsbooks on their signature campaigns' spots, so it becomes more accessible to bet once they receive their daily, weekly or monthly payments. With lots of alternatives of sportsbooks available, to bet on sports is really popular nowadays and for many a daily or weekly activity that is executed religiously.

Personally, when I have a guess about a soccer's game I look for Stake.com, but I'm not too active gambling, because I'm still recovering from a big loss which happened last year.

100% of gambling sites that offer sportsbook betting, all use the Bitcoin payment and deposit method, this is one of the main crypto/digital currencies used by gambling sites that advertise here.

Of course all of us here who have bet on sportsbook gambling sites, have made deposits and withdrawals with Bitcoin, of course the experience that is felt varies, depending on the wallet, what exchange they use and also good internet access.

Bottom line: as you said fast, anonymous, safe, easy and so on, basically using Bitcoins in sportsbook betting or betting on other types of games is fast and easy.

unlike using fiat, depositing and withdrawing with bitcoin, very fast and convenient for me that's why I will never use any other method of deposit or withdrawal other than using bitcoin or altcoins (tron, doge or bsc) sometimes

Low fees, it's subjective because few casinos are charge additional fees to make them earn more money.

Using Bitcoin won't need to revealing our identity, but we need to reveal our identity when we deposited our coins to a licensed casino.

Bitcoin is secure, but when the coins already belong to the casino, the security is questionable since the casino could be hacked.

Anyone can access Bitcoin, but most of licensed casinos have blacklisted some jurisdictions and they don't allow VPN usage, which mean all people can't gamble on a licensed casino.

Only the fast transactions I agree.

I think everyone here is a sports betting fan including me, but I prefer to bet football sports there is no other sports betting that I participate in other than that, talk about anonymity sometimes I never use such sites because I'm worried about fraud so better try to play safe on sites like Stake though have to submit KYC documents to them at least official and trusted.

The most important thing about sports betting sites is that deposit and withdrawal transactions are instant and fast because that includes the additional point that the site looks trusted and cool, you should also never play on new sports betting sites and play anonymously because when you are deceived it is difficult to prove anything else let alone bring the case to legal channels. just sharing a suggestion.  Wink

I don't bet without cryptocurrency. Because it gives me maximum advantages. Bitcoin has brought a big change in the world of gambling. You are probably discussing the advantages of betting using bitcoins and cryptocurrencies. It is very easy to conduct betting with Bitcoin on gambling platforms. A gambler can manage his gambling easily without any hassle especially in deposit and withdrawal. Sports betting and casino platform now offers maximum benefits to gamblers by using bitcoin. Moreover, a gambler can hide them self in gambling by using Bitcoin. Without KYC, a gambler can gamble freely.

I know that transactions with Bitcoin as fast and secure and if using LN then the fees can be very low. Although transactions made with Bitcoin are anonymous but they all can be tracked down if your jurisdiction is against casino or gambling stuff, and these days most Casino sites requires you to complete KYC in order to withdraw your funds.

The wide acceptability and ease of use makes Bitcoin best for those betting sites. I have done that last time in 2019 I think on some betting sites that mainly used bitcoin for the bets, but to be honest I lost most of the bets because gambling is not for everyone. However, I can vouch for the ease of use that the platforms offered with integration of Bitcoin as a betting coin on their platforms and the experience was extraordinary.

As much as I dislike altcoins, I use them sometimes as an alternative to fund my sportsbook and casino. The advantage is that I can convert my balance to Bitcoin, but a non-negligible fee will be deducted from the balance. This is convenient because you don't have to wait for minutes or hours for your Bitcoin to arrive, and you also don't have to worry about the huge withdrawal fees that sportsbooks charge.

I always prefer the use of playing Bitcoin because it's more convenient for my most of my source of income came from bitcoin so I didn't get hassle in making transferring funds and other transactions, I have different choices of platforms in terms of support with the sportsbook in bitcoin, Ive been playing in Stake.com, Roobet, Duelbits, and Sportsbook.io they really have a lot of features that I loved such as bonuses, events, and the add of the odds, this could serve a personal preferences, but before playing I've always checking their information in the FaQs, and Terms condition and of course recent problem in the ANN thread if there's any.

I gamble most of the times using a cryptocurrency and Bitcoin precisely and you've listed so far to an extent are correct but just as other users have said, except you have a steady flow of income, there is no need trying to buy Bitcoin just for the sake of gambling as that might cause some more incuring fees.
About anonymity, I think generally, cryptocurrency has high level of privacy but not on most gambling platforms because most of the reputable and well known spookbooks now have to ask for KYC either before, during or after registration.
I agree with the ease of deposit and withdrawal and that's one of the major things I enjoy with gambling using Bitcoin.

Fast Transactions: With Bitcoin sportsbooks, you can make deposits and withdrawals instantly, which means you can start betting and collecting your winnings right away.
no doubt gamble using bitcoin when you want to withdraw or deposit with transaction speed and bitcoin is some people's favorite here. but not all sportbooks here have instant withdrawals, there are some sportbooks that have manual withdrawals.

Low Fees: Bitcoin sportsbooks typically have much lower fees than traditional sportsbooks, which means you can keep more of your winnings.
usually sportsbooks that use instant withdrawals have lower fees compared to manual withdrawals.

Anonymity: Bitcoin transactions are anonymous, which means you can bet on sports without revealing your identity.
at first gambling using crypto like bitcoin was an option to be more anonymous. but unfortunately everything changed when KYC rules had to be obeyed.
we use bitcoin for anonymous but the site has KYC rules, it's just as anonymous as not valid but we have to obey those rules.

Security: Bitcoin is a secure and reliable form of payment, which means you can trust Bitcoin sportsbooks with your money.
even if you trust a sportsbook, there is no guarantee of security. it's just that when you already trust a sportsbook that has high trust, it won't be wrong to try to trust it.

Access: Bitcoin sportsbooks are available to anyone with an internet connection, which means you can bet on sports from anywhere in the world.
I call it the freedom to bet anywhere and anytime when I want to gamble on sports betting anonymously using bitcoins like you said the first time.

Every Bitcoin transaction is anonymous, but not all crypto gambling sites that provide sports betting can be used anonymously because many have established KYC, when we bet on sports betting, we can still bet without revealing our identity, but if the gambling site implements KYC hence the same as anonymity has been removed.

I always use Bitcoin when making deposits and to bet on some sports matches but using bitcoin only when betting on sports betting and using bitcoin can provide convenience when making deposits and withdrawals quickly, but when betting on games I prefer other people's currencies which can have it pretty low minimum bet.

I am using Bitcoin is Stake.com as means of betting deposits and withdrawals. Never had a problem and it's not about anonymity for me but more like the ease of transaction, speed, and the cheap fees that are glued into it.
Whatever sportsbook you are referring I have not tried it yet. Is it a decentralized gambling site?
I think I am in good hands with Stake.com and I don't need to risk my money on something else that I have not touched yet. If ever an issue will happen then I got a Sportsbet.io account which is next to my options for sports betting. Another reputable site with good features, promotions, and fair odds.

i have and although u do get the benefit of the anonymity.

the rest of the experience is pretty shitty tbh.

the odds are way low than other sportsbooks and even lower than exchanges.

also, i don't know what fee ur talking about because sportsbooks/exchanges do not have any fees.

as far as security and access is concerned, most prestigious sportsbooks/exchanges are secure..

and all of them are easily accessible..

so yeah, for now, imma stick with fiat ones for sports-betting.

one more thing: unless u have a steady stream of income in bitcoin like.. sig-whoring.. etc.

there's no need for u to go the distance of buying the bitcoin to make the bets..

because that would incur even more charges to play, which is just plain stupid.
