I am less agree if the job as a cop called stupid job ...  Cool

It isn't a stupid job, the topic goes around an IQ ceiling for applicants.
I would agree with an IQ floor, you wouldn't want retards in uniform wandering around with guns and harassing people. But ceiling?!

I'd only become a cop or join army under a voluntary system of taxes, that way society would have the best chance of appreciating your public service.

I've heard tell of these sort of "IQ Ceilings" for cops in Canada since the 80s. It was only rumour at the time, believable enough, but no internet for proof back then. Still, we all knew what the cops were like so it added up. The dept. that policed my region was listed as "Canada's most corrupt" in a newspaper expose back in the day. I remember it being reported that the chief himself was part owner of this notorious stripper bar where they were running underage hookers and he had to resign. No joke. York Regional (York Pork) Canada's finest.
The reasoning, us kids cleverly surmised, behind the cops barring applicants with any IQ above a certain low standard was, in our estimation; the job is boring so intelligent cops would get restless and start to steal more than their share. Lol.

We were so innocent back then.

I think the police have the responsibility of great security against a city or state, the police task becomes very important to maintain the stability of a country, the higher the crime rate of a country, the more it takes the cops are smart and agile to deal with the crime, I am less agree if the job as a cop called stupid job ...  Cool

This actually reminds me of a rant that George Carlin was having once about education and critical thinking, he said the people in charge want people who are just smart enough to operate the fax machines and the printers and that's it. Or in this case they just want people who are smart enough to fire a gun and not question orders, they're not even trying to hide anything now.

"The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York upheld a lower court’s decision that the city did not discriminate against Robert Jordan because the same standards were applied to everyone who took the test. "

That's just hilarious (or scary). If they had "we're not hiring black people" policy, it would also apply to everyone, in exact same way as IQ policy.

while i agree any abuse is not good, it is most likely going to happen in every work place at some point.

just dont stand for abuse, make sure you get people fired who abuse their power and so on.

thats all we can do as citizens is to know our rights and protect ourselves.

lock n load marines!

Do you know of a cop that has been fired?

The issue is a system that makes low IQ as a requirement to join the force. Sounds like the dumber the better, so they will act without thinking and will comply with orders no matter how stupid those commands may be.
Obviously this. The good cops, few and far between, keep their mouths shut or they will quickly lose their positioning in the thin blue line. From my dealings w/ law enforcement, I've never had a negative one that I can recall. When they're in civilian mode and not ginned up on SWAT tactics/adrenaline, they're usually pretty decent. That said, I think these guys need to have CJ Bachelor degrees and no former military personnel that saw active duty.

This is hilarious if it is real.

Back to the main topic, what is the court justification for barring him from joining?

I don't think people bearing arms would do any good or go around civilian rights to be the issue here.

That is why the 2nd amendment is so important. With the soon to pass obama's executive order for 5 millions illegals, no one can count on the cops anymore...
