The moderation here does not seem to be constant. There are several threads in the Bitcoin discussion section that are critical of Bitcoin classic, are critical of major altcoins that have been allowed to stay out of the altcoin section, some of which theymos (and other moderators) have posted in multiple times. While threads that show Classic in a positive light are quickly moved to the altcoin section.

Theymos has also recovered at least one account to a scammer that clearly had no claim to such account while he has gone months without even commenting on requests to recover accounts when no one has contested someone trying to recover their account and even when the sole reason an account is locked is due to the owner attempting to reset their password via their security question. And to make matters worse, he quickly recovered an account to a scammer whose account wasn't even hacked when he was pretending it was, giving said scammer illegitimate credibility.

Mods here aren't bad for the most part and I have no beef with any of them in particular.   I like how the constructive-post thing is pretty well enforced.  Other forums are much worse, and you can go pages and pages with nothing but quote pyramids and smiley faces.  Drives me insane.   And there aren't even sig campaigns on those forums!

Honestly, they do way more than what you see on the outcome. I guess some people have problems with posts being deleted but of course it's always for a reason. I voted yes. If I go to report random spam I see its already nuked before I have a chance 99% of the time.

To reiterate my initial post as it looked like gave some lip service and went right into issues I feel.
The Mods here are very proactive and will pm you if they what information on a issue you are having in quite a short period of time after posting, thats great. They also are very quick to handle reports of spam and a lot of the time when I am about to report something it is no longer there, which is damn fast!
Lot of yahoos, myself included that make the job harder for them at times and appreciate their work.

I was just about to say the spamming had settled down and then I walked right into a cluster of it. So weird how it ebbs and flows at times. For a well I thought Politics had gotten better and then I look at some replies that are echo or pure nonsense.

I am happy Smiley, I think admins/mods here are very much friendly, helpful and most importantly they moderate everyone with same standards, doesn't matter if you're new or old, if you break the rules, you'll get the same treatment as the next guy does. And I have mentioned this before too, it ain't easy managing this place but they do a good job at it.

I am happy with bitcoin administration/moderation.So far I am only not so much happy with local moderators.I won't point out far but local moderators need to keep more eye on the local posters as well.I have seen some secondstrade campaign spammers spamming there with low quality post. But the main staff/moderators are good in handling their work.

For the bitcointalk moderation and on how they are maintaining the forum, I don't have any issues with them that's why I'm on the neutral side for them.
But one thing I can say for the whole forum, I love this place!

I tend to see only people with negative trust & scammers having issues with mods. If you are a good person & good poster you will get on good here.

I have no problem with the admin & or moderation here. If you stick to the rules you have no problems.

Simple really.

Sometimes I have a problem deciding what post would be considered constructive and what would not.

There are times I post something I consider constructive only to see it deleted later on. Sad Sad

I'm ok with the admin but we are not exactly best pals... Grin Grin

Some say the moderators on this forum go too far. I disagree. I say they don't go too far enough.
I concur.

...the other mods to close the shitty spammy topics was a great move but btctalk still needs few active mods in:
-snip-
BTCT does not need additional mods. What BTCT needs is a better distribution of moderator workload, and a stricter policy in general. Some moderators are just softer than others so it comes down who handles the  cases.

P.S.  I think theymos should be more active on the forum as i have said in the past.
Seems like he is 'too busy' to be more active on here.

I think the Moderators/Admins here are absolutely Fair and reasonable. I know Badbear gave me a second chance when i was a Total asshole so i have no complaints.

I vote yes.

P.S.  I think theymos should be more active on the forum as i have said in the past. It would boost peoples perception and Demeanor if he interacted more with us "Common Folk"  A little small talk or bullshit chitchat would be beneficial to the forum.

I chose it is OK because I really like the admins and all the moderators, i respect them and they are doing a good job, however few sections in bitcointalk are a real heaven for spammers, the action of hilariousandco (if I am not wrong) and the other mods to close the shitty spammy topics was a great move but btctalk still needs few active mods in:
- politics: shittiest place in btctalk with a random spammers and i start to report what I catch, i am not talking about their point of view, i am talking about broking forums rules - i would go for removing it completely then re-open it later with a clear rules
- press: i remember seeing few duplicated news, for example: 16/05 news1-source1 then 18/05 news1-source2 without mentioning duplicated posts in the same day that sometimes happens
- gambling: are you rich for?... Do we need such topic, do you think they are helpful? I don't think so..
- etc...

Well this is a few examples of things that could be done to make the forums a better place, i still insist that the staff are doing a wonderful job but they still could do better  Smiley

Ok, this might be a little controversial [it shouldnt! we're all in the same boat]. I thought about running a simple poll to ask about user satisfaction here

I for one am quite happy with the board and the admins/mods.  I can say YES I am happy with the site.

I'm more often than not not so happy with the userbase but that's another story hehe
I haven't seen any forum where users are given so much freedom and liberty. In almost all forums on internet, admins and staff behave like dictators who can ban you at their will irrespective of forum rules.Bitcointalk is certainly an exception.I feel more freedom here

Yeah, they're being too lenient at times. They give multiple chances ,warnings before taking a action. They're quite neutral with deleting signature spam posts too.Like if you look around gambling section or bitcoin discussion, one will lose their minds looking at the hilarious replies but mods again don't delete it unless its too off topic.

Think most moderation is done in a timely manner and the slights I feel are usually not meant to be that way,so benefit of the doubt. Think my only issue is having some threads pointing out to be redundant by post from a mod that inevitably closes down the conversation. Or when you are addressing a issue and you are the sole person saying something different and they choose you to nit pick on. Thats the only gripes I have because it gives other members the dogpile effect once they see the mod has given the "fish out of water" salute.

By looking at the mods I can see it is set a certain way for a reason, with very similar minds or presenting themselves in the same manner. So there is little that can change as it is planned.

They are doing a great job if we compare them to other forums . (Wether it's answering people questions or handling the forums (spam etc...) Most of the time an action is taken few minutes after sending a valid report ) .

If you are like me that spams the signature all over the forum are still active and still earns while posting then i guess you should also be happy.
I wouldn't be happy if I'd be kickedout for replying 50 threads a day so i should be thankful.

The administration is pretty tolerant IMO, especially theymos. Well that's just my experience and I like that about this place.

Nothing is perfect of course.

That depends what you exactly mean with 'satisfied'. Also these polls are not really a good indicator as they can be easily manipulated by a 'small army' of newbie accounts. There are a few changes that would require adopting before I could be completely satisfied with it.

Oh I see, I understand, but I don't just mean satisfied, I actually mean happy. Like, are users happy with the forum's administration or not so much. Of course it's very hard to be absolutely happy, who is that, I don't know. But if one would have to decide, I guess one can feel a direction either towards rather happy or the opposite.

BTW I think newbie accounts, and Jr Members(?), actually can't vote on Bitcointalk. Your point is still valid however, votes can always be subject to manipulation unfortunately

Update: Now that you mention it, I'm not exactly sure whether some ranks can't participate in polls.
