If you want to solo mine ETC easily start with 2GH of Mining power, you will solve blocks easily and faster, you won't have to wait weeks to solve a single block, if you have less mining hashrate point that toward Alephium.

Solo Mining is pure luck. If you are going to do mining alone, the first way to increase your chances is to have a low internet ping time. If you have access to a high ping time, quit this job. Work for any pool. Because you need to share the solo at a better time than all the miners, and this time it should be accepted on 51% of all nodes, so that the block you found is yours. Otherwise, even if you find it because of the ping time, this blok will belong to someone else.

Solo mining ETC is a bad idea because

1. Luck rate is lower, you can earn a block today and none for weeks.
2. ETC is an old coin, the difficulty is high enough.

Why not use the pool? ETC is still easier to mine than ETH and its price is still lower, use 2miner or flexpool.

I wouldn’t try it. You can but the variance is going to get you. One moment your luck is up and the next moment it’s down bad. Why put yourself thru this?

There are a lot of pools out there with low fees, I don’t see any reason to solo mine these days. Most pools only want an ETC address so privacy is obviously not an issue here.

I wouldn’t recommend solo mining ETC.

I wouldn't solo mine ETC for any reason, the reward is just like mining on a pool too, if I have to Solo mine any coin it will be something like TON or Alephium, you will enjoy solo mining if the coin have less mining difficulty.
