Used to be on C31 with 1080tis, then grin priced dropped with increasing difficulty, switched back to x16r and haven't found anything else worth mining so far.

Still mining Ethash at this moment and can see it's profitable up until now . There are good to mine crypto still today like ethereum and zilliqa and my friend told me they still get profit to it.

All my friends mine  Ethereum. None of them mines Grin. I think that most people think that Ethereum is much more promising than Grin. I think it is better to mine Ethereum than Grin.

On amd gpu (470/480) I mine ethash. On Nvidia (1070) I mine grin. To reduce the cost of electricity - I put powerlimit  70-80.

Nvidia cards are performing better in grin mining and in fact it is the most mined algorithm with relatively older cards now, the 10 series can be considered old because they are 3 years in mining.

Ati cards do better in Ethash so I think this is the case, some rigs that I manage for some colleagues of mine which they restarted their machines on Monday I let them with beam although with Ati cards to see, so far it grin it is not performing better than ethash in Nicehash.

I have not been mining for a long time. with my price for electricity it's not profitable and even so very hot at home. maybe when then prices on cryptos go up the hill I'll be back to mine. If now mining is better to hold and wait for the price to go up and then sell. Ethash or Grin  newer try mining

Meh, I've been thinking about powering up my mining rig once again, but Summer is coming so idk if it's even worth trying at this point. Might check out the XMR mining and give that a little try.

It has reached the point where you no longer are mining at a loss so you don't need to mine to heat your house to offset costs.

Basically as long as you got a basement or a garage then it shouldn't be an issue, especially with XMR. There are some people who have managed to get each GPU to use around 100 watts and it creates very little heat as compared to ETH mining.

You can also buy a 4U server chassis and put 6 GPUs inside and just vent the exhaust outside, or if you got a laundry room just create a Y adaptor and vent the heat there.

Due to the recent price increases the most profitable coin if you got the RX AMD GPUs is XMR on Cryptonite R algo.

Basically you should get like 1000H/s using like 120 Watts from the wall, depending on your electricity costs you can clear around a quarter of profit per day. So if you got a rig full of 4 GPUs, you make $1.

If price can double then we should be able to almost make $1/day/gpu however I am guessing that the problem then will be the increased difficulty.

Ethash is more profitable at this moment.
Another problem with Grin - very high inflation. It is possible to increase the price of Green only in the short term.
In the medium and long-term price will fall. So, in my opinion Ethhash is more preferable.

Why not try raven on x16r, that's been working well for me.

Makes the most profit and can just trade for the coins you want of course. Also it had a boost recently and tripled in price within the space of a few weeks (or might have been just a few days!)

This is on nvidia cards.

After the latest FORK i am still mining  ETH. Among the alts I have the most confidence in ETH. They have the strongest development team. The rigs are heating as well, so that is a compensation for the electricity cost of mining.

I would advise dumping all your grin as soon as you mine it.  It doesn't look like Grin will see any substantial rise in price because of how high the inflation rate.  Convert it instantly to btc or eth if you want to see higher gains.

I am mining SERO, privacy protection protocol of decentralised applications based on zero knowledge proofs that also supports smart contracts.
CPU mineable coin on betanet mining program running all coins will be mapped to mainnet after launch.

Why am i mining SERO ?
-SERO team acheived 20 times after encryption against Zcash during September 2018 testnet.
-Funded by LD Capital
-CPU based mining, Based on Zero knowledge proof and supports Turing complere smart contract
-Homomorphic Encryption
-Issue Anonymous Assets and Tokens, Smart Contracts
-SERO Ecosystem of SERO Coin, Tokens, Tickets, Packages
-SERO team has created "SUPER-ZK" encryption library and achieved 20x encryption speed agains Zcash during September 2018 testnet.
-BetaNet RC and BetaNet Release version already launched.
-Mainnet release planned for April 2019.
-3 in1 suite of SERO, ALIEN and CASTROL protocol.
-SERO’s Hybrid Transaction Model (UTXO + ACCOUNT)
-Already have strategic business partnerships with many organisations.

The price of electricity that makes it unprofitable is around 0.11 kwh or so. It however depends on which GPU we are talking about and what coin you are mining. And also what unprofitable means, because in my opinion making $0.01 a day per GPU is considered unprofitable also.

Not much you can do except wait. We miners are hoping for ETH to switch the algo to ProgPOW and eliminate the ASICs and that might lead to better profits.

Grin and beam still going through price Discovery and probably won't find bottom till another 6 more months due to new coin. So it's a bit risky to put all your rigs on beam and grin with constantly falling prices and too much newb hype.

I'm mining btg, etc, aion, grin, beam. All equally and mining unprofitable at 8 cents rate , bc I want to flush out those big farms. I get a rush seeing big mining farm capitulate and I can do this for multi years since I got a normal day job to cover electric.

I think bitmain is insolvent and getting sued by chip supplies. This is good news for the smaller miners

What are you guys mining now in the current market? What price of electricity makes mining unprofitable for you?
