just because you don't agree with what all the rest of the world says it doesn't mean everyone else is a parrot and wrong and you alone are right!

i have seen your other topic in this board trying so hard to say "bitcoin supply is not limited just because it is forked" and as everyone else disagreed with you, now you think they are all parrots/bots!
maybe it is time to think you alone are wrong not the rest of the world!

That one was exactly a good example of parroting - no-one in that thread appears capable of thinking through the ramifications of cryptocurrencies as being fungible, but merely repeat the same inane "21 million" response over and over again

You are right somehow but I disagree with that "99%" because there are also members here that really post well based on their own thoughts and avoid duplicating or rephrasing answers. Speculations of all members here are right, others act like a parrot here because they want to reach the minimum post count required for their signature campaigns and some are doing it to increase their activities. Well, I don't blame them because I once become of them also and I think that it's just only a coincidence for having the same thoughts.

What I'm doing to avoid this bad habit is I study and understand the topic first, state my own opinion about that and then post here. I also include my experiene based on that topic as much as possible to make my post more unique.

Most people seem to think that OP is crusading against shitposting and the like, and I can't really blame them. It's true that there are a lot of parrots and maybe a few bots here and there on this forum. It's not for some grand crusade for the forum though. He calls them out, but not for spam. He's saying nearly everyone who supports Bitcoin is incapable of critical thought because he seems to believe that Bitcoin is a bubble[1] and that there is infinite Bitcoin supply because you can simply fork it that would increase its supply.[2]

OP, you really just need to accept the fact that most people in this forum believe, and have everything to gain if Bitcoin succeeds.

99% of people in here are clearly incapable of analytical thought. Everything is parroting the party line "Bitcoin is a great investment", "Bitcoin is a currency", "Bitcoin can only go up", "there can only be 21 million" and so on and so on. Almost no-one is capable of critical or independent thought. Clearly judging by this forum Bitcoin is mainly driven up by parrots - or automated bots.

These such posts are not the ones that are the most troubling. The most troubling ones by far are the ones that are actually obviously bots and simply spinning text that is not written by hand by a Human. This is the biggest issue with this forum at the current time.

Secondly, there are too many foreigners/non-English speakers who come here and try to post but their posting makes absolutely no sense at all. And usually it is off topic by miles also.

Lastly, but certainly not leastly Wink are these parrots you speak of. They simply regurgitate whatever they heard other people say about Bitcoin without actually knowing anything about it themselves, and then they have the audacity to call themselves "experts" to their friends. Cheesy

The most irritating comment I've encountered so far is copy-pasting others reply to the thread just to increase the post count. I don't really mind if someone posts short replies as long as it is somehow related to the topic but to copy-paste someone else idea in long sentences for me that's unacceptable.

Its true that most of new members are just spamming the forum. But at the same time, you could not totally deny the valuable discussions provided by reputed forum members. The easiest thing to avoid such posts is to just avoid reading one or two line posts. Also, these shit posters carefully avoid important topics and they just show interest in answering questions like, is bitcoin better than gold or how bitcoin helped you to improve your life.Mostly, they don't find enough time to post more than one or two lines. They are too much busy in posting shit posts.

But you need to acostumbrate to it, if you really want to look for good information in here, then dont join those massive threads with more than 20 pages each one, i try to avoid those threads in where there are more than 3 pages of replies, because it is obviously that most of those newbies or account farmers are always posting bullshit in those kind of threads.
When i need useful information, i just try to search on google first like this: Bitcoin XX thing - Bitcointalk
It shows me up a lot of results, and i join to the topic who less replies has.

I'm totally sick of these shitposters who write stuff like "bitcoin is increasing day by day, it's a global cryptocurrency that allow us to trade, invest...."  blah blah blah.

The point here is that you should report garbage posts when you see them, and it's obvious OP does.  That's what I've been doing, but it feels like it's a losing battle.

These people tell their whole village that money is to be made by shitposting on bitcointalk, and there are apparently whole families who come here to do just that.  It's pathetic and I have no sympathy for them.  And I really wish there were some rules in place for campaign  managers whereby they'd reject these garbage posters on sight.  The SMAS thing gets ignored by the participants--sometimes--but it's at least a good thing.  But there's no requirement to deny SMAS shitposters by any campaign manager, and it's the shittiest campaigns that accept the worst posters.

Its true that most of new members are just spamming the forum.
Scintillating analysis, sir.

Look at this thread, which is a variant of one that always keeps popping up: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2314539.0;topicseen
Threads like this should be nuked, as they're just a vehicle for shitposters to type out one-line responses.  Basically to list whatever shitcoin they can think of.

Fact is, no one exactly knows how to analyse btc very analytically. Its so new and unseen historically any analysis will be a stretch of a mix of logical thinking and imagination.
Then of course, this is a bitcoin forum so you expect people to be positively biased towards btc.

Probably most of them are spammers who make short line post to get activities or qualify for the signature campaign. It's pretty kind of normal around here now but the they are making this forum look bad. Well, I think there are some moderators who ban those kind of accounts who make 1 line post repeatedly. What we can do is just ignore them, It'll only distract you more.

Maybe if you read junk threads. There so many useful members. Don't judge us all on a few. Yes there are many barely English speaking people that write rubbish bit there also many interesting people too. Try reading more interesting threads or reading about some altcoins the Devs post Announcements from. You also have got many good responses here too so you already off to a better start. Just try your best to ignore the illiterate people. Or you can even start your own threads and just reply to those like you doing now.

Unfortunately you started reading spam threads and judging forum members based on them.
If you see a thread saying "is it a good /moment, time, idea, year, month, day, opportunity/ to /buy, sell, dump, trade, learn, leave, get rid of, invest, read about, join, abandon/ /enter the name of a coin/" simply ignore it or you'll be wasting your precious time Wink

It keeps repeating. words by words, action by action it's like a daily routine every day.. it's part of advertisement we get paid for our campaign.. all questions must answer very well, others are making a post about their activity.

Posting just to get your activity up was bannable last time I checked. If you see blatant spammers report them to moderators.

You are right with that, and there is a new signature who is paying $20 a week for full members, all those users who always get denied by the good managers, are applying in that signature campaign to make a few bucks a week just by posting shit on this forum.
Look at their profiles, check the post that they posted before, all of those posts are one-line pharagraphs full of shit that does not even make sense.
They all should be banned because they are just turning this forum in to a free-money antro.

most of those crappy posters are all of those who are posting in order to get paid by those signature campaigns.
I am into this one because i want to help them to promote their project, and of course, we all want to be rewarded by some coins, i would not deny it.
But most of those who are posting that kind of crap, are the newbie ones, and all those jr members - full members who are only posting in order to farm their accounts.
Everytime that i see one of those posters, i just click on the ignore button, it is much more better for me.

Currency is defined as a metal or paper medium of exchange in a particular country. Bitcoin fails on both of those counts.
Is Bitcoin a great investment? I think it is a great speculation. It won't be an "investment" until the infighting stops.
Bitcoin can only go up - the probablity is that it will increase, but nothing is certain in global economics.
There can only be 21 million coins. I've suggested the possibility of increasing the total, but it would probably only be possible if it was a form of scrip issue to benefit existing holders. A ten for one issue would drop the value of a Bitcoin without changing the immediate capital value of mined coins.

I'm going to have to explain this in immense detail because you can't just read before opening your Internet-based mouth.

On this forum, there are signature campaigns in which companies pay people to make posts while using their signature at the bottom of their posts.  Most people on the forum now have these, and many of them spam incessantly in order to reach this post count.  The easiest posts to make are the basic ones which are also positive about BTC (after all we are on a BTC forum), so those are usually the posts that they spam.

Some people (like me) adopt an "if you can't beat them, join them" mentality and try to post logically at the very least.
"there can only be 21 million"
If you're talking about the original chain, this one is objectively true.  Read my post on your thread about this.

The other points I agree with.
