I think everyone should be ready, why not. In many ways, and problems due to the fact that people are afraid of the new.

I downloaded just one file for work (around 1.5GB) and it took half a day. I think we could all benefit from faster internet, don’t you think?

Fantastic! Now you'll be able to download the entire blockchain on your smartphone in a few seconds... while watching a YouTube video, downloading a not pirated movie and making a hotspot for your friend who doesn't have money for 5G.

haha.. Wow! That’s some multi-tasking there, huh? But yeah. I guess this upgraded kind of connectivity will help us be more productive. Maybe this could open the door to more remote, telecommuting jobs.

I've heard of the 4.0 revolution, and this is the first time I've heard about the 5G revolution, it's not like I know it.

These stronger wireless signals will just give us more headaches and negatively affect our brains.  My head already hurts when I'm close to wireless towers.

I agree wit that. 5 years ago GSM company added an GSM antenna 200 meters from our house - it took a week for my hed to start hurting!

Developing 5g is non sense for now. We are now in 4g+ era but not all areas are covered, I think they have to optimize 4g before developing a new one. It could only results a waste of money specially for those who invest and believe in it. Consumers want changes so they will switch to new one like what happened in 3g to 4g but i think there is no real difference or poor changes

But isn’t 5G the optimized version of 4G? And how can it be a waste of money if super fast internet can boost a company’s performance and production? The many benefits of 5G are mentioned here:

Looks promising. This article states, "Countries like the US, the UK, China, South Korea, and Japan, the rollout will start over the next 2 years. Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), the Internet of Things (IoT), big data, self-driven cars, drones — the benefits of 5G seem endless.”
Fascinating, right?

My country doesn't have 5G and doesn't have the infrastructure to deploy it too. 4G internet speed is also terrible, slow.

What I really want to see, is a total descentralization of the internet, to stop needing big companies and providers to serve as gatekeepers between us. That would be a fundamental twist in privacy and freedom from any imposition governments/internet providers puts on us.

Valid points. Another issue would be the separation in society. Some think advanced tech is elitist. It’s further discussed here:

do you agree?

5G is not required. Waste of time and money developing 5G

But won’t we benefit from faster internet? This could help a lot of industries flourish. Why do you think it’s a waste?

Our preparations should be focused on protecting ourselves from the damaging high frequency microwaves that 5g demands. The other problems derive from the loss of privacy.

It is nice to see that we are evolving in the 5G generation, however I am still in the 3G. I still enjoy the web surfing even with 3G. If I try once 4G or 5G I am sure I won't want to get back and I will feel the difference in surfing.

The next-generation for wireless technology is upon us. What is it exactly? “It's the next (fifth) generation of cellular technology which promises to greatly enhance the speed, coverage and responsiveness of wireless networks. How fast are we talking about? Think 10 to 100 times speedier than your typical cellular connection, and even faster than anything you can get with a physical fiber-optic cable going into your house. (You'll be able to download a season's worth of "Stranger Things" in seconds.) 5G network is designed to connect a far greater number of devices than traditional cellular network. That Internet of Things trend you keep hearing about? 5G can power multiple devices around you, whether it's a dog collar or a refrigerator. The 5G network was also specifically built to handle equipment used by businesses, such as farm equipment or ATM machines.”
They say 5G technology will be life changing too. We get to enjoy more immersive, contextual experiences. Industries are expected to use technology to reach a new level of efficiency and productivity. All in all, this new and revolutionary, intelligent connectivity will become the heart of new ecosystems and growth.
Verizon will launch the first "5G" service in the world today. Exciting, right? How do you think this will impact businesses, social media and everything else we do online?
