-snip- I get an error message  "an internal error message has occurred, please check the log".  I clicked "ok" and then the whole Bitcoin Core download just disappeared.  I have no idea what to do now about anything.
I got a feeling that your Blockchain is set to be pruned and/or you don't have enough disk space for the blockchain and other data.
Because I can't find any other errors in Armory nor Bitcoin Core that will delete the already-downloaded blocks (only if it's pruned).
If that's the case, you don't really have a choice but to export the prv key like the others have said.

That's the Armory log... not the Bitcoin Core log.

When you said this:
So I literally just spent the last three weeks downloading Bitcoin core and it was almost done (about 88.24% of the way done) and I get an error message  "an internal error message has occurred, please check the log".
Was that an error displayed by Armory or by Bitcoin Core? Huh

Did you actually run Bitcoin Core manually yourself... or had you opened Armory first and it was running Bitcoin Core in the background?

I am really kind of desperate for help here and really wishing i never used Armory. I really hate this.
You could take the advice of Rickorick and export your keys. I have a tutorial here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.43255691

Why not export your keys and import into electrum.

Download and install the latest version first (v0.96.5 | Release notes thread) , then try again.

If there's an error, you may have to rebuild the database using the menu "Help->Rebuild and Rescan Databases", then restart
(not Bitcoin Core's datadir so it wont cost you internet bandwidth).

hey there, I am not too technical and I could really use some help.  Like many people, I sent some Bitcoin to my armory wallet prior to knowing that I had to download and sync Bitcoin core with Armory first.  So I literally just spent the last three weeks downloading Bitcoin core and it was almost done (about 88.24% of the way done) and I get an error message  "an internal error message has occurred, please check the log".  I clicked "ok" and then the whole Bitcoin Core download just disappeared.  I have no idea what to do now about anything.  I have no idea where the log is and I am afraid that If i click on download bitcoin core again, it will just start over and erase the last three weeks of work.  I am really kind of desperate for help here and really wishing i never used Armory. I really hate this.  Thanks
