yes i remember something, i believe i can crack the password.

downloaded the file and after several painful hours (installed pyqt4 and some other modules) now im getting this and no matter what i cannot fix it.

$ python PassPhraseFinderPlugin.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "PassPhraseFinderPlugin.py", line 4, in
    from PyQt4.Qt import QPushButton, SIGNAL, QTextEdit, QScrollArea, QTabWidget, \
ImportError: cannot import name QPushButton

i use debian 11 (bullseye), any suggestions?

Unless you remember something about your password, you have no chance of cracking it. Now assuming you do, you will want to get in touch with wallet recovery services. They will charge you a fee relative the wallet amount.

If you're more adventurous you can try to run the python brute force script in the repo:

https://github.com/goatpig/BitcoinArmory/blob/master/samplemodules/PassPhraseFinderPlugin.py

Word of caution, it won't be pain free.

I found my old armory .wallet file. It is encrypted and i lost its password. I did a research and seems like the only way to open the wallet file is to brute force it. I have a good GPU so i can do it, but the problem is i am new to these kind of things and i have no idea what to do. Can anyone help? The wallet has 2 BTC inside right now.

Thanks.
