I had the same thing hapening to me aswell what i did to prevent it:

I moved both data-dirs to my data-drive (D:\BitcoinData and D:\ArmoryData)
and made a shortcut on my desktop to start Armory.
Dont start Armory the default way after an update but with this shortcut.
(I keep a copy of this shortcut in a txt-file)

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Armory\ArmoryQt.exe" --satoshi-datadir="D:\BitcoinData" --datadir="D:\ArmoryData"

That should prevent to from setting everything up again.

This isn't supposed to happen. It seems like you are somehow going through a factory reset every time you update.

Can this be somehow related to the fact I had my Bitcoin Core and it's datadir moved to \Armory\datadir

A possible culprit. I wouldn't recommend this setup if anything.

It's the second time this happens to me. First time with 0.93.2 and now with 0.93.3.

I of course had my wallets backed up but I'm now facing the need to download the entire 55GB blockchain because the updater (armory_0.93.3_winAll.exe ran on win7 64bit) starts with deleting all the files in the chosen installation location right before installing the new version... I don't think it's supposed to work this way and it surely didn't in the past versions. What could be causing this behavior and why can't I find anybody else reporting this problem?

Can this be somehow related to the fact I had my Bitcoin Core and it's datadir moved to \Armory\datadir ? (I had to because the default system drive is too small for the blockchain and I believe I followed an official guide when setting this up).

By the way, what's an easy and recommended way to undelete that one 55GB blockchain file?
